Funny how 8 of the 10 worst states for crime are republican. Sides have nothing to do with it, its policies are put in place, and coaxed by jails and other corporations. This "democrats ruin everything" is no different than any republican city or state. It's all the same and every state has these issues, again because of policies put in place.

A girl i went to nottingham with just won a position i think as clerk, and people found it shocking that a democrat won. Very similarly, i live in the city now, and oddly no one seems to have voted for any of these bad actors we have right now. Everyone hates AOC, Eric adams, Hochul etc.

One thing they should change in police in all these cities is to make the police chief an elected position like the sheriff who does not have bend the knee to the mayor or the city council. Appointed police chiefs just end up being yes men for the mayor and politicians.
