    Just to mention, surprisingly, I've seen these tin cans in different sizes at Hobby Lobby's candle crafting or beading aisles. And they're relatively very inexpensive. You might want to check it out & see if those could be used for this purpose. I enjoy watching your videos...especially the sceneries you take with your drone. And, I do appreciate you thanking God for all His blessings of the beauty of His creation at the end of every video. God bless!!

    i like the way you taped the stuff to the inside of the lid, but i think if you are only going to put a few matches in you may as well tape them next to the striker for ease of access

    So no gauze ? what if there is a bleeding? i think it's a good idea to add a flat gauze pads with a ACE wraps for pressure. Good survival can though , hope you never need to use it !

    I have found tins simular to altoid tins at thrift stores. 1 dollar a piece on sale. You don't have to buy the mints. Good video.

    You use alcohol to kill the bacteria to prevent an infection. Then you use the gel and a bandaid as far as I know. But u have a good point

    • @ReviewOutdoorGear
      @ReviewOutdoorGear  8 років тому +5

      The alcohol will cause more pain and damage than anything. It actually denatures living tissue along with the bacteria. You CAN use it, but it shouldn't be the first thing you do. The antibiotic ointment is actually what takes care of infection. Cheers!

    Great video guys and informative as always. I did a survival course last year and want to do more wild camping. I`m looking at buying a small axe, something like a Gränsfors small axe, and wanted to know if you guys use something similar or have any recommendations. Cheers.

      +jamo19781978 Can't go wrong with the GB Small Forest Axe, that thing is perfect all around. If you want a slightly larger one go for the Scandinavian Forest Axe. If you're looking for something hatchet sized, the Wildlife Hatchet is an amazing little one.

      +ReviewOutdoorGear Thanks very much. I went for the Small Forest Axe in the end as there was only £5 price difference between it and the hatchet. Also went with a Mora Companion knife for my 1st real bushcraft knife.

      Actually looked into this. They look like an option for survival calories. You should always have a good reserve of food on you when backpacking.

    Also a discrete option is an ankle holster, i personally have one for my leatherman shears, turniquete, celox, gauze and trauma dressings. In theory, this is enough to stop 2 major bleedings.

    skip usb-thingie, skip flashlight, skip matches, skip lighter. All these are fine to have, but they should not be in the firs aid kit. It doesn't make sense. The first aid kit should only by a first aid kit, the other things you have in a pocket, any other EDC bag or any survival kit. Was suprised to see the mix up here on this.
    If you mix up the containers, boxes or bags, you end up with having several general purpose containers and this defeats the purpose of the first aid kit. You want to see only relevant things in the first aid kit for the situation where you wanted the first aid kit. You do not want to waste space in the kit or spend time finding the real first aid kit item you look for while being ill or hurt.
    The pills in the transparant bags is a nice idea, but with no text on the pill-bags it seems like an accident made to happen. WHen ill or hurt, you may be stressed out and not remembering what pills were in what transparant plastic bag.

    You don't need a USB adapter or cash in a medical kit.

    • @ReviewOutdoorGear

      It’s first aid, but not necessarily medical first aid.

      I’ve personally needed one to transfer files from another person. This kit is an example - you can customize as needed.
