Speaking now as a Commercial Ploughman with Conventional ploughs, I've found this video very interesting - what's happening in the BACKGROUND! Compared to our Local "ploughmen" , those competitors , seemingly on their own , were plowing at commercial speeds.What has always bugged me tho' and I recognise this is a COMPETITION, is that they need to Push & pull the plow here and there to conform. Harry Ferguson wold have more than kittens. I run 4 * 7 furrow conventional Plows in strong "Man's" ground with suitabley kitted ot 2WD tractors. the tractors are set up properly and can "Steer themselves" as the plow is properly lined up and with good shares is carried by the tractor for traction. NO NEED for all those extra weights and fancy depth control wheels. OK OK the fancy adjustments on the mouldboards for that extra twist, etc but looking at a 4wd Ford, front axle was pulling to the side - doesn't help plow alignment, does it? Surprised there were so few views and comments on a quite well made short film. thanks for posting Sláinte!
