When I lived in Puerto Rico, I always loved the oil/onion/Criollo condiment for yuca. Without putting effort, this is what I've been looking for. I eat yuca almost daily. It comes frozen now, and the texture beats potatos any day of the week. Very nice!
I also learnt about this recipe in Puerto Rico, I love it. Yuca is not very common where I live, but sometimes I can get it frozen from the Latin market.
i'm Bengali American, and i LOVE Yuca. There's many Hispanic/Latin markets in my neighborhood, and I always craving Yuca! Healthier than Potatoes, and it tastes better with pickled red onions, and a little vinegar
I went to a cuban restaurant only once in my life, not expecting much from any kind of latino food, and yet HOLY COW, best thing I ever had!! Those pickled onions are phenomenal!!!
I didn't grow up doing it this way nor did my family cook it this way. I started doing it this way some years ago and now I can't go back. Lol. It really is delicious when you cook down the onion and garlic and lemon first them add it to the boiled yuca.
Chachas basics are what the world needs right now. I'm impressed

How many cups of yucca, onion and garlic do you use?
I usually buy the frozen organic yuca which saves me a lot of time and effort since I do not have to peel it!

I need this recipe but for 20 people 🤨
Multiply by about 7 times the ingredients. It's about 3 servings for this recipe depending on the size of your yucca
