  • In this video I show you how to install and wire Oracle Lighting 7" High Powered LED Headlights With Halos, on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon. If you have been debating on replacing your OEM Jeep Headlights, this video will help make the decision. The before and after footage is literality a night and day difference. The Halo rings alone are brighter than the OEM headlights!
    To begin, we bought the Oracle Lighting 5769-001 7" High Powered LED Headlight Pair with White Halo, from Quadratec. To remove the headlight housing, we use a T15 Torxs bit. There are 3 screws holding the headlight outer bezel. After the bezel is removed, there are now 4 T15 screws that hold the headlight housing ring. Once the ring is removed, we remove the headlight connector. We then place in the new LED Halo headlight. Next we lock it down with the housing ring, and then the bezel. From here you can plug the new LED halo headlight right into the OEM connector. We then test the light to make sure it is working. The Halo part of the headlight is not connected to the main wiring plug. There is a red and a black wire coming from the connector. So in order to wire the Halo portion of the headlights, we take a long red wire, and run it through the front grill of the Jeep. We then solder the long red wire to the red wires, coming from both headlights. Next we crimp the black wires, to a ground bolts in the engine compartment. Next we cut the main red wire, and splice in another red wire. This wire will run to the fuse box in the engine bay. We then solder a Mini Add-A-Circuit Holder, to the red wire that we just added to the main red wire. We use the Fuel Injector fuse to power the LED Halos, as this is the fuse we found that only has power, when the engine is running. If you want to be able to switch the Halos on and off, you could wire it to a switch, but for me, this works just fine. The Halos will only be on, when the engine is running. That is it for the install. The next part of this video is the before and after footage. We show the headlights turning on and off, also driving down the road in different lighting conditions.

      Still haven't had any issues. My understanding is the same amount of electricity would flow through, as there is a separate fuse added.

    Great video, easy to follow all the way up to the fuse box. Only problem is in my 2006 TJ I don’t have a fuel injector fuse (in that space I have clutch override). I tried the fuse extender in every fuse slot it would fit and either the halos don’t work, or they’re always on. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @arieldebin1385
      @arieldebin1385 2 роки тому +4

      Update in case anyone else finds themselves with this issue (is it the right/best answer, who knows, but it works!): ended up attaching an inline 10A fuse, attached a male connector to the end and plugged that into one of my open relay slots that apparently is switched. Tucked everything, including fuse, into an open gap at the end of the fuse box and called it good! Still very much appreciate this video!

      @@arieldebin1385 Could you please explain more on this. I have 06 TJ and was planning to do this activity. I have the haadlight withHalo and turn signal lights ready. But not an expert with wiring. Do I have to buy more fuses? What else is needed? Appreciate your details here.

    • @arieldebin1385
      @arieldebin1385 2 роки тому +2

      @pavan hegde it is difficult to explain details without being able to use pictures, but I will do my best. If you’re looking to have the halos turn on every time you start your ignition (as Mike does in the video) I would start by wiring them exactly as he does in the video, including using the fuse extender and seeing if any of your mini fuses in the engine fuse box are switched (meaning they only provide power to the halos when the key is turned on, versus always providing power). Your fuse box might look and/or be wired differently than mine, so i think it’s a good place to start.
      If like me you end up not having any switched mini fuses, you can try my approach.
      I purchased an inline fuse holder (like these www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081DHT8Y7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and a 10A ATC fuse (the bigger ones like this www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MMH1QW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
      I followed Mike’s video in connecting the two halos with an extra red wire, then connected one end of the inline fuse to the red wire connecting both halos using heat shrink connectors (just like Mike does with the fuse extender beginning around 10:38 in the video) and attached the other end to a male spade connector (like these, but the larger yellow size from wirefy www.amazon.com/150-Wirefy-Male-Spade-Connectors/dp/B07QF1DXHY/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3V2ZUDEBBY23Z&dchild=1&keywords=wirefy+male+spade+connector&qid=1632960200&sprefix=Male+connector+wirefy%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-3).
      This male spade connector I then plugged into one of the openings on the far right of my fuse box, where the large black relays are plugged in (this is what my fuse box looks like, I plugged the spade into one of the openings in the bottom right corner, www.bonanza.com/listings/2006-06-Jeep-WRANGLER-3-8L-Engine-BAY-FUSE-RELAY-Box/768969641?goog_pla=1&gpid=341761184097&keyword=&goog_pla=1&pos=&ad_type=pla&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5MjVzrGl8wIViv_ICh2-swpMEAQYBCABEgJt7_D_BwE).
      The bottom right option ended up being switched for me so now my halos turn on with the engine, then it’s just a matter of finding a way to tuck all of the wires and the inline fuse out of the way (make sure you give yourself plenty of extra wire to work with).
      I hope this is helpful!
