Fishing Witches Point - South Wales

If only South Wales was closer, I'd certainly fish it much more often, but with big Northerly winds causing havoc on closer marks I decided to make the trek down and go after some big rays.

Hi Alex great video nice bass shame about the wind I took hate the wind also have just bought akios fury 420 not used it yet is it a decent piece of kit thanks

Wind is the worst! The fury is a great rod you won't find better for the price I'm sure of it.

Hey Alex. Welcome back to South Wales. Witches Point, fished there last about 10 years ago now and it scared the bejesus out of me. Me and some mates nearly got washed off the rocks. It was winter around December with a big swell. Fishing for Cod. It’s a dangerous mark and you have to have your wits about you. A rouge wave can reck your day. Have said that, it’s an awesome mark in calm conditions but I wouldn’t take any risks. Great video.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The swell was slowly building through the session, but being a northerly, I wasn't expecting it to become unsafe at any point. Would definitely be better with 2 of you though so you have a spotter keeping an eye out.

Not sure yet mate. The wife is down to work that day, but she does owe me some fishing time so will see if she can get cover or not.
