I picked up the 40 mm watch 4 and I LOVE it. I start using it around 7:45 am and put it down around 10 pm, the battery will still have 20-30%. It's also very comfortable, I have smaller wrists, and I actually forget I'm wearing it.

WearOS 2 is usable on it and it gets amazing battery life its literally been a fully day and it's only on 50% and thats using Google assistant, checking notifications, and responding to messages. Mainly due to the second screen. Trust me I had the watch 4 but gave it to my mom because it's so locked to Samsung you won't get all the features like Blood pressure, or ECG with the Tic Watch no matter what Android you have should work well and you'll get full features and the ability to download what you want. I got mine, the classic 46mm two days ago and so far I'm loving it. I upgraded to this from a active2 and my biggest gripe was the lag when doing voice to text with the watch figuring out what I was saying lag when actually sending the text, it was horrible on my active2, but on this new watch there's absolutely no lag.
@@josepha9486 its decent but tbh I'm having problems right now with AT&T's NumberSync, so once they fix it I'll really see, but right now I just have it connected to my phone via BT.
I've had the gear S2 and am currently on the active 2 (over a year now) biggest drawbacks have to be google assistant and Google play features missing. Also I feel more confident wearing the active because moving parts seem bound to fail, my gear S2's rotating bezel now only is a hit or miss, sometimes it goes in the opposite direction. But the feel and usability of it is so awesome. I hope the durability on this new one is better. And the raise to wake feature on the active 2 is as hit or miss as is mentioned in the video.
Rocking my 40mm LTE version for - I think - 2 weeks now and it has been nice. Google assistant would be even better but frankly Bixby isn't that dumb. I'm a smoll guy, so the smallest version was definitely for me.

When smart watch users realise the charging intervals on the Garmin watches are measured in days/weeks rather than hours you realise there's a reason the video doesn't even mention battery life. Also most Garmins have screens that are always on.
@@RageXBlade oh I know I just want people to acknowledge Garmin more in these videos. It's all "Apple makes the best smartwatch and Android / Google is playing catch-up" but like... No, both kinda suck when you have to charge them so often!
Seconding the Garmin watch. I mean this watch they're reviewing looks great, and has a bunch of features... that I'll never use. Really just getting notifications on my wrist so I can keep my phone silent and in my pocket is the best thing. Plus I only charge it once a week.
I remember in the 80s and 90s, shows like Knight Rider had the hero speak to someone on their watch. It's kinda cool that it's actually a reality now, you can even call a voice recording line and have conversations and secretly record it.
"Samsung made a better watch than Google", I mean, it's not particularly hard to make a better one because Google never released a smartwatch in the first place.
Also, Samsung has been making better watches than anything running Wear OS for a while. Just because Linus doesn't admit that Tizen watches are a thing doesn't mean they aren't there. I've been daily driving a Gear S3 Frontier (last watch with MST payment, great party trick by the way) for years and the only reason I'd ever upgrade is that the new Wear OS on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic has the Google Assistant, which apparently it doesn't right now.
I'm still on my galaxy watch 46 mm (4th gen) . It's now 3 years old and it still works and looks like day one. It's amazing how durable those things are
same. bought an s9+ and later in the year, the watch. Still daily driving both. Does everything I need out of it. Don't see much of a reason to upgrade.
So I had a bad experience with the fossil q gen 4. Terrible battery, getting hot and crashed literally all the time. My gf convinced me to go for one as our office jobs prevent us from having phones out, and also I upgraded my diabetes equip to a cgm that Bluetooth my sugars to my phone (and watch). Plus 36 months interest free and 28 no question return policy from Samsung. Can honestly say I'm so happy, the battery lasts probably 2 days with good amount of use, auto workout tracking, and the sleep tracking. Plus obviously having my blood sugars on my wrist, I love it. (I've got the Galaxy Watch 4 classic 46mm)
Exactly like you... I've upgraded from active 2 to Watch 4 and have greatly enjoyed the upgrade. From faster response times to best watch OS and best watch hardware... I was actually very content with active 2 but I had to make the leap to Watch 4 and have never looked back. Can't imagine why anyone is using an apple watch and the square interface...
I've been using a Gear S3 Classic since 2017. For the most part I only use it as a watch and for notifications. Prior to getting the watch, I would often miss notifications if my phone was in my pants or jacket pocket. I occasionally use the "find my phone app." But that's about it. I've never had any interest in the health tracking apps and generally found them annoying. There are a bunch of watch apps I suppose I COULD use. But even at 46mm the screen isn't really large enough to make them more convenient than using my phone. I am not really sure why I would buy a more expensive LTE watch and then presumably pay for a wireless plan for it. I think the novelty of making phone calls from my watch would wear off pretty quickly. I suppose if I were a runner/jogger and didn't want to carry a phone on my runs it might be useful. But I am not and it wouldn't be. I also prefer my silver watch which I wear with a metal band. I do like the charger shown in the video though. It looks far less bulky than the one that came with the Gear S3. I don't really think a watch needs to be upgraded nearly as often as a phone. I might never upgrade it actually. My battery could probably stand to be replaced. It's supposedly relatively easy to do the replacement myself. But I would prefer to find a relatively convenient place to do it for me. Anyone know a good place in NYC? I wonder of Louis Rossman does it?
Yeah, I got a used Galaxy Watch (1) for cheap and non of these features stated in the video really entice me to upgrade. Maybe the more responsive tilt but that’s about it. I don’t really use the health app, even though I do cycle but navigation has been useful in the past.
I love my Gear S3 Frontier. And it's not that hard to replace the battery (iFixit has a guide, it's about the same as for a sealed back phone, just be careful about waterproofing afterwards). And I agree, these watches don't need to be upgraded all that often. Anyone needing more computing power in my opinion is using their watch wrong. The only thing that would ever pull me to an upgrade is the Google Assistant, but that's not work forking over the money for a new smart watch.
Loving my Watch 4 Classic 46mm. More responsive screen than my Active 2, and a way faster processor. Of course, there are a few things that "act" a little different on the Watch 4 compared to the Active 2, but I'll get used to it. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the Ridge Sport band that I chose. Already swapped it out with some aftermarket options. The velcro nylon band, and the Apple Watch style band, were a lot better for me.
@The Lonely Proto The classic is bigger than the regular and has a rotating bezel. It's also made out of stainless steel vs aluminum and costs slightly more. That's it
@The Lonely Proto The Watch 4 is the "newer version of the Active 2", whereas the Classic has a bezel, and replaces the Galaxy Watch 3. The vanilla Watch 4 is aluminum and the Classic is Stainless or Titanium. The small Watch 4 specs are equal to the small Watch 4 Classic. Same specs for the larger diameter watches in both SKUs as well.
I've been daily driving the Galaxy Watch 4 since the day it released and have been enjoying it. The watch barely ever hitches, and the body tracking is quite good, if aggressive (it picked up me waving my arms while talking on the phone as doing jumping jacks). The battery lasts me about a day and a half - 2 days if I put it on battery saver. I'd have loved to be able to use my phone's wireless battery share feature (S20+) but it seems to refuse to work with the watch. The only issue I've had with it was at one point when several tiles refused to show for more than a second or so before my screen went black. I couldn't look at my sleep tracking info on the watch, which I'd been trying to do. But, one restart later, and everything is fine. Overallnim very happy with it and am happy with my purchase
Hello could you answer a question about the gps tracking? Im wondering if the watch can accuratly track your speed. And if so how does it display this info? Does it have a graph you can check or maybe a speed indicator? And hows the waterproofing and strength of the watch? Does it feel like tge wristbands will snap off if they get hit by something? Ty for answering.
@@Mercyforme I don't actually use anything that'd utilize the GPS (nor have I looked for it) so I can't really speak on that feature. It was given an IP68 rating, which means it's labeled as "dust-tight," and is good for at least 1 meter depth for up to 30 minutes (1.5m depth according to Samsung). Watch strength feels solid, I've dropped it a few times already on my tile floor, with no noticable damage. Then again, manufacturers are making current devices a lot sturdier than they used to. The wristbands feel great, in my opinion. I have to have mine set to the second loosest hole, typically, but I've had no issues with it. Like Jake says in the video, it's comfortable enough that you can kinda forget it's even there

Battery life is what kills the samsungs for me. :( Tried the active 3, I think it was.. but 1.5 days of battery is a no go for me. Went with the garmin venu, and have been enjoying it. gps, battery is good, and while not quite as snappy.. I'm fine with that trade off for 5-ish days battery. Hoping they add a low power mode that can compete with garmin/fitbits bty life.
Just for the record, all those features are available on watch active 2, including the volume part, the only difference is that it uses wear os, it's a bit faster, and double the price.
@@divyjotsingh3879 It depends, the build materials are a lot the more expensive being full stainless and the cheaper one being made out of aluminum. If your the type of person that cares about that it can be worth 100 dollars.
I love my galaxy watch 4 classic, I downloaded gboard and switched it to my default keyboard, love the little swipe gesture keyboard. Google assistant would be the cherry on top for this watch!!! Oh and that rotating bezel * chefs kisses *
1:29 It wasn't part of the Watch3 series. It was the follow up to the Galaxy Watch Active, which was launched in March 2019. The Active2 is the follow-up, launched in August 2019. The Watch3 is released in 2020. Samsung decided to do this, because they had not released a regular Watch2 in 2019 and people thought the Watch Active2 WAS the Watch2. So to not confuse those people, Samsung decided to go with the number 3.
Can't wait to get my hands on the Classic LTE. I'm still using the OG Gear S3 Frontier. Only downside is my country's telcos are a little outdated in the age of no-contract plans none of them offer esims for smart watches so after switching from contracts to no-contract plans I have not been able to fully utilise my Gear S3 in LTE.
Dude, I had my sgwa2 since launch. It went down the river with me NINE times before the water resistant feature failed. Still trying to bring it back to life. I loved that thing, I am hopeful for this new watch from Samsung!
Glad to see the interface is still familiar Samsung. The physical bezel is really nice to change the volume of music without having to look at it. And to use with gloves. Still wear my old gear s3 every day. This one is first one that's tempting since then. Glad they flattened the caseback to be like the s3 again
I've had 3 samsung watches so far, all still working and in use. I rotate them. Gave my Dad a 4th fit. I love the rotating bezel on my Samsung Sport. It's just satisfying to use. I have the active 2 and I find it's peppy and responsive and auto picks up activities better. I could see getting the 4 classic for sure, down the road.
Got the 46mm Watch4 Classic on 24th (direct from Samsung and they sent out early) and it works great. I'm liking all the added health features and the tracking is definitely better than my older Watch 4G. I'm using it with a Samsung S21 Ultra so all the features work but if you don't have a Samsung device you might not be able to use all the features supposedly.
One of the things frustrating about Samsung watches is every new generation they change the band width sizing, meaning if you bought some replacement bands they won't work. They do have a nice trade-in program.
You can set the Apple watch apps to be a list that you scroll through. That made it much more usable for me. Then I switched to Samsung and the Watch 3 didn't live up to the Apple watch I used to have. The Classic 4 is a definite leap from the 3 though. Love it so far.
Honestly just wish that there would be chargers for these things that you can use while you're still wearing the watch. I don't care if it charges slowly I just want to be able to charge it while I'm wearing it and not have to take it off. If I take it off I forget to put it back on.
I'm still using a Gear S2 classic and although it's needed a battery replacement once and could probably use one again, still works just the same as the day I got it!
Man, smartwatches are still so underwhelming to me. Counting steps and reading notifications still look like primary functions. I don't want to carry a notification machine on my wrist all day, it just feels so unnecessary and my phone is always near me anyway so there is no point in having a watch just to get notifications on it. I'll stick to my non "smart" watch for the foreseeable future.
Honestly, I say that if you listen to music, or drive alot, that is where a Smartwatch shines. Liking a song requires unlocking and opening the song on a phone, my Fitbit lets me press one button and like a song, or press another button to change a playlist. And if I'm driving, I can get infor quicker than Carplay or Auto.
You're wrong. Notifications in my watch is very important for me. Even in meetings or being a way of my phone I'm still able to receive updates. "A way means different room at the same home"
@@leeroyjenkins0 lots of Android wear watches have physical buttons, so doing something like skipping a song is one real button on your watch rather than a fake button on your phone. Really, all the watch does is save you that few seconds of unlocking a phone, but if you repeat that phone unlock enough times in a day then the watch really does save time. I can turn off my lights with 2 buttons on my watch, which is faster than my phone or Assistant.
Great for controlling music. Great for 2FA. And it is great for quickly glancing at notifications. I don't want to get my phone out every single time I get an email and go into the app and open it when I can just glance over what it is on my wrist to know if I need to actually get my phone out to look into it or respond.
I do see the point that some of you are making here and there could be few nice use cases, but that's just not enough for me. Regarding notifications, I don't want to have my notifications at a glance all the time. I don't want to be available 24/7. But everyone has a different flow so I get it if smartwatch makes your life easier in whatever way.
I've used the Active 2 for many years and I recently modded it to get the blood pressure working and it's not bad. I still use a regular monitor periodically to see how long the calibration really works for and the watch and the cuff are within margin of error of each other. Not sure why the FDA takes forever to do things, but Samsung did well with their blood pressure tech.
I only used my active 2 as fitness tracker and heart beat sensor for OBS during streaming. Only some priority notification is allowed. I dont need extra distraction at my arm..
Hey sometimes they are first to the race sometimes they are last. I just can’t do android security, it’s just Swiss cheese. Their eco systems never work together as good as apples either.
I keep hearing thst Apple is the only one that makes a good smart watch. Yet I've never personally felt compelled to buy one as an Android user. What makes them so "good" anyway? It can't be Siri.
If you have an iPhone, it blends in seamlessly within the ecosystem, can't say the same for wear OS in general. Although I do prefer the rounded design and the physical rotating bezel, the squared design ain't bad.
It's not that Apple is "Fantastic", but rather Android Smartwatches sucked for the most part. IMO the Galaxy Watch 2's battery life still makes it a hard deal breaker.
I have Galaxy Watch 42mm LTE, I think watch 4 looks and works very similar to the 1st one. Physical rotating dial really feels awesome and having 4G helps a lot while I go out for few hours as I don't take my phone with me. I have set same phone no. On my watch as on my phone.
If you're buying a top of the line smartwatch I would assume you'd have a recent smartphone too. My smartwatch is literally the only device that 1. Has a proprietary charger. Sure, I can live with that. But 2. I need to make sure I have a USB-A port power adapter with me just for the watch. Standard phone adapter and power bank have all gone USB-C. That's a double inconvinience.
Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Until these smart watches can be solar charged, i probably wont be replacing my sudo-smart watch that i've had for 13 years. Never changed a battery, never charged. Battery still at 100% even though i'm inside most of the time
@Melvin Frazier I found the Amazfit GTS 3 Pro, if you disable all the tracking and networking it lasts for over 30 days, this is while still using GPS, heart monitor, temperature/barometer/altimeter, and full screen display (tested) In clock only+pedometer(battery saver) it looks like it will last over 100 days(still testing)
See, everyone is always saying that the Apple Watch is the best smartwatch available but that dreadful menu will always stop me from using it. Every other smartwatch I've seen or used has a better UI yet the Apple Watch receives near unanimous praise? If it works for others, great, but it's definitely not for me and I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes it.
The active 2 was my favorite. More of a full screen. I recently purchased the 44 mm watch 4 and it is very impressive. The classic looks great but I’m not a bezel fan. Love the watch faces better than apple. It has great battery life too. Good review , subscribed.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Qi charging. It's one of the biggest advantages of the Samsung watches over other WearOS products (Fossil Group watches are notorious for the crappy dual "ring" chargers which constantly break and require a proprietary cable). It also would have been good to show a current gen WearOS watch as a comparison for the absolutely chonky thickness of all WearOS watches.
watch made by Samsung, OS made by google and a good first hands on by the shortcircuit team. would definitely like to see a review of this on the main channel
I like the app layout! I'm used to the Apple Watch layout and thus don't mind it, but it is a bit of a learning curve to remember where all the apps are. I don't even use most of the apps on my watch lol but I really like the layout on the Samsung watch, it's an efficient use of space while still being...modern? It's a nice blend between the two options that the Apple Watch provides.
Nice video though everyone loves the luxury lifestyle.... But why is no one here talking about Bitcoin... Now's the best time to buy the dip and it's an opportunity that will grant you all the luxury you crave for ☺️
7:48 Uhh I'll have to disagree on that, since it's a personal watch, I remember the exact location of the most 10 apps around the clock, and arrange the rest to my likliness in finding them. It is perfectly normal for other users to have trouble finding anything on my own watch, but it doesn't mean it's less useful. I like the globe pattern more than the up and down list of apps simply because I can quickly locate the app icon no matter which direction I put the icon. Also, I keep my icon count to the minimum and I put the useless built-in apps to one useless corner.
I'm super excited for Samsung to start perfecting the watch but I don't know why everyone didn't like the fossil. I've been using it for years. Fossil has an awesome super stylish watch, I would say it's not great for exercising but everyday and productivity it is awesome and last a long time.
I love the rotating bezel it's so satisfying and navigating the watch is great its even fun at times I got it last day of a sale and was really impressed and love the watch

I'm definitely buying the base Watch 4 (non-classic) as smaller watches fit better with my small hands.
Gonna be my first smartwatch too.
@@okbruh098 Yikes. The 40mm will most likely last for shorter than 10 hours then. If it could last at least a work-day it'd be fine I guess. Don't mind charging every night. Hmmm.
I picked up the 40 mm watch 4 and I LOVE it. I start using it around 7:45 am and put it down around 10 pm, the battery will still have 20-30%. It's also very comfortable, I have smaller wrists, and I actually forget I'm wearing it.
Beware it over heats when making a call
@@InfamousAmanda Oh. That's good to know, I was worried the watch would last shorter in real-life usage.
I also checked the images of the two sizes (40mm and 44mm) and the the larger one, even with the bigger battery, just looks off for me its too chunky for my wrist.
So yeah no 44mm for me.
I don't know about the current gen ones but my Galaxy Watch 1 lasts 2 or even 3 days if it spends all that time connected to my phone. When it's not connected to my phone it does drain it's battery quicker and lasts around 8 to 10 hours.

Same but if not the tic watch pro 3 is the closest bet or fossil 6 whichever you prefer. I have the pixel 4a 5g and it definitely works really nice and Google Assistant is great to have it's not slow at all. Plus WearOS 3 will eventually come to it sometime next year.

How's the battery life?

I've been wearing a Garmin smartwatch 24/7 for years and am very very happy with it, y'all need to acknowledge them more!
When smart watch users realise the charging intervals on the Garmin watches are measured in days/weeks rather than hours you realise there's a reason the video doesn't even mention battery life. Also most Garmins have screens that are always on.
If I remember correctly, Linus used a garmin watch for many years, and made at least one if not two videos about it. You should look it up
@@RageXBlade oh I know I just want people to acknowledge Garmin more in these videos.
It's all "Apple makes the best smartwatch and Android / Google is playing catch-up" but like... No, both kinda suck when you have to charge them so often!
@@70RCH i mean you can charge them at night because youre not wearing it anyways
Seconding the Garmin watch. I mean this watch they're reviewing looks great, and has a bunch of features... that I'll never use. Really just getting notifications on my wrist so I can keep my phone silent and in my pocket is the best thing. Plus I only charge it once a week.
Real talk: Where do I get a Dennis shirt?
Love the Shirt. P.s Dennis needs a new painter. Go help him out, Linus
I remember in the 80s and 90s, shows like Knight Rider had the hero speak to someone on their watch. It's kinda cool that it's actually a reality now, you can even call a voice recording line and have conversations and secretly record it.
"Samsung made a better watch than Google", I mean, it's not particularly hard to make a better one because Google never released a smartwatch in the first place.
true pixel watch got sacked
right?
Isn't Fossil Smartwatches under the Google brand now?
I think they meant Google wear platform because this is the new Google wear with one ui on top
I absolutely love my Watch3, and am very much looking forward to upgrading. Glad they haven't got rid of the rotating bezel because it is fantastic
I still wear my Asus Zenwatch 3. It's absolute garbage, but I can't find a smartwatch that looks that good.

I lol'd hard at the sad Bixby logo...😆

Samsung decided to do this, because they had not released a regular Watch2 in 2019 and people thought the Watch Active2 WAS the Watch2. So to not confuse those people, Samsung decided to go with the number 3.

Glad to see the interface is still familiar Samsung. The physical bezel is really nice to change the volume of music without having to look at it. And to use with gloves. Recently picked up a Fossil Hybrid watch and absolutely love it so far.
do you have issues with it not reconnecting to your phone after you go out of Bluetooth range?
I guess Jake doesn’t know you can switch the apple watch to list mode
Basic lack of research really tarnishes these reviews.
@@iBlancoUC I mean, why put in effort when you get tons of money for doing no research anyways.
You can set the Apple watch apps to be a list that you scroll through. That made it much more usable for me. Then I switched to Samsung and the Watch 3 didn't live up to the Apple watch I used to have. The Classic 4 is a definite leap from the 3 though. Love it so far.
I’m glad that Android smart watches are starting to get better.
@Gray Plays Shut up
For the Apple Watch, you can switch the apps to a list mode instead so you're not stuck with the grid if you don't like it.
I mean, yeah, but the grid is kind of a mess. I like the hybrid grid list on the watch 4. That seems like a good compromise.
When has google ever made a smartwatch?
For a watch active 2 user, i can relate with that badminton tracking too since i play badminton every day.
Had that watch. Watch 4 classic is light years better
@@32poppasavage28 Perhaps, but I don't use my watch for much besides keeping time and notifications, which it's still able to handle no problem :)

The problem of the A Watches is that you need an iPhone to fully utilise them.

Hey sometimes they are first to the race sometimes they are last. I just can’t do android security, it’s just Swiss cheese. Their eco systems never work together as good as apples either.
I'm using the Galaxy Watch Active 1, it works as a watch, does watch stuff and has pretty cool fitness features and I can play 2048 anytime.
I keep hearing thst Apple is the only one that makes a good smart watch. Yet I've never personally felt compelled to buy one as an Android user. What makes them so "good" anyway? It can't be Siri.
user interface, integrations with other apple devices (as expected), great app support
but mostly it's just the apple-ness of 'it just works'
same
If you have an iPhone, it blends in seamlessly within the ecosystem, can't say the same for wear OS in general. Although I do prefer the rounded design and the physical rotating bezel, the squared design ain't bad.
Maybe the Apple watch is popular because some people like having to charge their watch every 18 hours.
"Interestingly enough its still type A Usb"
yeah, cuz that's what most people have.
Yeah my first investment with Mr Logan Willie earned me profits of over $25,530 Us dollars, and ever since then he has been delivering.
Highly recommend that anyone else who dislikes Apple's globe menu thingy for the watch to switch to the list menu. It's so much more usable imo.
first dislike :D
Why you dislike??
nope, I disliked years ago, you're way behind
just gave your one and only upload it's first dislike too :)
@@stefan_xe don't remember. I dislike many things
i legit thought that the video was over when he did the segue 🤣
*Before watching the video*
Me: Nice! A new Samsung Watch.
*After hearing it has Tizen instead of WearOS*
Me: Oh... Nevermind then.
12:09 i didn’t know you could do that to dim the display, immediately checked to see if it works on my apple watch and it does lol
I own a Fossil gen 3 explorist, nice watch, terrible battery life and performance, you can't really use it as an everyday watch
I have the first gen Galaxy Smart watch, all I did with the watch for the first week is play with the crown it's so damn satisfying.
I love the rotating bezel it's so satisfying and navigating the watch is great its even fun at times I got it last day of a sale and was really impressed and love the watch
