Dylan Mulvaney Is Modeling Sports Bras?

- After partnering with transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney, Nike received a wake of backlash online from people unhappy with the partnership. However, this is not the first time Nike has come under fire for their treatment of women and their possible involvement in more egregious forms of injustice.

I realize that this Dylan character clearly has no shame, but it's crazy to me that he would model clothing that blatantly demonstrates how NOT feminine his body is.
Wait its a guy?
@@GuY-ExE Yup! He is a guy!
@@touta.sakhou1602 oh ok now i see why ppl say we are fucked
@@GuY-ExE we are fucked because people keep getting distracted over dudes in dresses. Create a gynocentric society and then get mad at men who want to be women? God, people are so retarded.
Dylan invented a character, sold the character and then is enjoying the benefit of the money. The companies that made the decision to buy his promotion are to blame, not Dylan.
Anything Dylan touches gets cancelled
Thank God that's true
For good reason
That's no coincidence
😰
guess that makes sense, since he apparently never touches himself
I have body dysmorphic disorder (not gender dysphoria but similar in most ways), and I wouldn't be caught dead recording myself in such a shamelessly unflattering manner and posting it for the world to see. You can't convince me that this man struggles with gender dysphoria. The whole time he's been broadcasting himself, I've seen no signs that he's uncomfortable in his own skin. Also, like Blaire said, it's extremely telling that he has yet to permanently rid himself of his facial hair; he definitely had the money to take care of that a long time ago.
I think he’s just in it for the attention.
Judging by your pfp, you should have no problem with your own image... looking quite good.🤔
I'll believe it when he chops off the ol meat sword and flail. Getting rid of your facial hair is like a girl deciding to not wear make up any more. It can be undone, fairly easily and takes little to no commitment. I'll believe he's trans when he gets gender reassignment surgery. Because, right now, all I see is a gay guy in drag playing dress up and being silly for internet validation and an uncomfortable amount of money. Nothin new under the sun.
It's also extremely telling that he won't finish transitioning, not as if he can't afford it...
He's a vaudeville actor playing the role of his life.
I cancelled Nike in the eighties, when they started selling two hundred dollar sneakers to poor people. In the nineties they were worse, using sweat shops to make their products.
That isn't the reason to cancel them. Poor people buy lots of things they shouldn't buy, but you'd have to cancel everything if that was your primary reason for a boycott.
@@cgroom23 yup. Hope this person isn't on a electronic device made in sweatshop manufacturing plants in China. The irony 😂 oh and the cobalt mined by literal slaves mining it to power our batteries.
Back in the 70's Nike was a budget brand. I guess they miss that distinction 😉

I'd like to mention a female designer who is an A cup. Her fans said that her designs didn't work for DD or H busts. She did a video where she wore balloons to the measurements and weight of breasts at that size. And she tweeked her design, took out removable pads, gave it a much better support band and non-stretchy straps. When companies listen to their consumers it works. They sell products companies actually want.

All these “marketing geniuses” will be out of work in a bit after these campaigns. This is not marketing, it’s just cringiness.
I agree it isn't actual marketing, branding or target audience. It's just fad bandwagon stuff. Usually that happens at the end of a fad though. Remember when fidget spinners were in every store right before that ended? Or those little stuffed animals? All that kind of junk reaches a peak and then sharply crashes. I mean, only some sports are trying to keep Buy Large Mansions alive even when after all the embezzling came out.
Back in the day, you could be sure that companies would jump on issues if it was advantageous. It was sociopathic in the commitment to the bottom line. For instance, borrowing civil unrest imagery to sell you stuff. Then the companies that used to be known for sweatshops draped themselves in BLM and trans politics. So there's an extent to which it's an act. However, there would be a decent swathe of marketing types who buy into the image of righteousness in a somewhat perverse way. With the Bud Light campaign, that woman was talking about enlightened social values while trying to onboard young female drinkers. So her victory would have been when more young women were passed out in the gutter next to a bud light can. Progress!? It's "we care about you" with a side of wanting you to be a heavy drinker (in the case of bud light) and thinking it would be ideal if you would drastically overpay for athletic wear (nike).
They'll just get a job at some other company and do the same crap. It just spreads the disease.
Yeah simps do ruin everything by constantly letting bleeders off the hook.
Omfg... Nike has a whole list of actual athletes who train hard every single day to become professionals at their sport to choose from--people who actually motivate people to become athletes, those who are more likely to buy Nike products. Watching Dylan flop around like that is beyond embarrassing. Why the heck would Nike even want someone like that wearing their stuff and then acting like that?
right, ever since nike encouraged kneeling during the national anthem, and became unsupportive of our military, i cancelled them a long time ago

Haven't bought Nike in over 20 years ago. I thought the china child labor was enough to walk away.
It turns out that people are more concerned with fashion, and fads then a moral compass.
So how can I be shocked that this company would do such things.
Do you use Apple? Any other phone? Desktop computers? If so, you have likely bought from a company that not only is involved with child labor, but with slave labor.

@tomie I guess when you are 20, in university, just trying to start living your grown up life,it looks really scary to have kids, but once you are in a stable relationship, have a job, have a place to live, it can take you a long time if you are not working towards that goal, thus at your late 30 you become resentful because you realised that they lied to you when you were 20.
@tomie I’ve had two beautiful kids after 40!! And 3 of my sisters have also
It’s probably because it’s women who carry the baby, if it were men it’ll be a whole different story,
@@ambzerambzer8800id also like to add that woman are more likely to get bitter than men because womans options decrease as they age especially if they want to start a family, a man would rather the woman be young and fertile so most men who do want families are already taken by the time woman hit 30 they wonder where all the good men are at etc..
@tomie08it’s better to regret not having kids then regret having them. When u have them, you can’t get rid of them and reverse your body, but if u don’t have kids, you can’t do multiple treatments and adoption to have kids
Nike has been an un-American company for years and years now. What woke ME up was their involvement with Kapernick, however you spell his name. I've never bought a single Nike product and never will.

So the child slavery didn't throw you off. It was woman empowerment that got you upset. Well hell, do I have news for you.
@@ActualDrunkAtheist I get you, but it's not the "woman empowerment", it's the this farce of absolute bullshit of Dylan Mulvaney, and the fact that his main audience is middle-school aged children. And yes, I do see your point on the child slavery... Is there a list of every single company that uses any component of their product that doesn't do this?
Pretty sure you will discover there are other brands out there making MUCH better shoes anyway.
There’s a story about a teen/college student who ran for Nike whose coach pressured her to lose weight and she lost her menstrual cycle and they refused to let her return to a healthy weight. It ran in Runner’s World? as a video documentary. They really mistreated her-lose your health or be dropped. I had hoped Nike learned its lesson, but obviously not.

If your body fat percentage dips to a certain amount (I'm not sure the exact amount and I'm sure it varies from woman to woman), your period will stop. I haven't bought Nike since I was a teen (at least 20yrs). Their stuff is cheaply made despite being so expensive. The last few controversies just solidified my decision 🤷♀️
I will never forget being made to pay $80 when I got to Basic Training in '02 for my first and only pair of Nikes. They started falling apart around week 4. Why is Dylan built like ones of those little dudes from those tabletop soccer games 😭😭
If you're going to burn your Nike kit, be careful to do it outdoors with plenty of ventilation. They use a lot of polyurethane and other chemicals in their clothing which is toxic when burned.

Thank you Brett for shedding more light to the Nike boycott! I tell people I stopped wearing their running shoes in the early 2000s because I believe they didn't have the support I needed as a cross country runner like they used to. Then, just as you reported, Nike did not support their athletes when pregnant. They also had a running coach that emotionally abused their female athletes. I could not stand with a company that did all these things. It broke my heart because as a young runner, I really respected Nike in the 90s. What a shame.
Exactly - NIKE was cancelled a loooooong time ago for many reasons. This is just the latest.
Nike missed an incredible opportunity: maternity athletic wear for pregnant women. I don't know if I should laugh or scream.
Never bought a Nike product ever or Apple for that matter. Boycotting these shady companies isn't hard. Keep it real and keep people informed.
What ever would they do without your parents allowance because you hate woman empowerment?
In '02 I had a pair of Nikes "picked out for me " when I arrived at basic training which I had the privilege to buy with money already taken from my first paycheck. Worst shoes ever, they didn't even survive 9 weeks of use. My next pair of running shoes cost a third the price and lasted 2 years of Army service. I will never forget being ordered to pay $80 for the worst shoes I've ever owned, Nike.
It's not like I was buying a lot of Nike to begin with, but I've bought ZERO of their products for about 10 years. I can absolutely continue that indefinitely.
Additionally, I was an athlete as a teen- I played on my school softball team, amongst other things. Sports bras (and other sports wear, generally speaking) are practical. They aren't meant to be fashion accessories (at least, not originally). They serve a purpose. It was a purpose I didn't need terribly much as a teen- I was rather slight. But some of my teammates very much required the services of their sports bras. The reasons why are not comfortable. But they were athletes and did what was necessary to compete at their best.
The fact that Dylan 1) Clearly isn't an athlete, and 2) Clearly doesn't need a sports bra just adds insult to insult.
(2:27 Well done with the "sus" sound, editor 😄)

If you have Nike items, don’t burn them. Don’t buy new stuff, and if you don’t want to keep you old stuff, just donate it to a thrift store so someone can have a nice bra on a budget. Burning things is just being wasteful and doesn’t actually do anything. The main thing you can do is to stop giving companies you don’t support any more money.
Donating is bad for they would not let poor in USA or EU buy those for they don't want their clothes be associated with poor. They'd dump it in Ghana
I stopped wearing Nikes years ago. Fell in love with Under Armour shoes. So much more comfortable in my opinion
Almost interviewed with Nike when I was living in Beaverton, OR and they actually asked me about inclusivity and diversity in the email leading to it and I definitely botched that by being honest and telling them their current campaign was ignoring men and focusing too much outside of America and targeting what I thought was a different demo and ended up getting that cancelled. It was mutual because fuck that guy who was emailing me because, despite the money, as a white cis straight etc etc, working for Nike would've pushed me to the brink. Oregon as a whole is just the worst, honestly.
