Tom and Ross mentioned that they were inspired by the stories of immigrants. Which makes Robyn turning into a wolfwalker is part of this. Yeah she could have sympathized with Mebh before but once she became a wolfwalker, she understood all that Mebh was going through. Being free in the forest but being hated and feared in town, it is where Robyn now has the motivation to help Mebh find her mum.
