  • eBay RFID Alarm Push Button Start Transponder Immobilizer System Keyless Engine Car review and modification to turn on an electrical circuit with two 12V relays.
    These kits actually turn off the ground connection on the triggered wire connection. I wanted to be able to turn on a circuit, so I needed to reverse the switching connection, by using 2 relays.
    Typical automotive 12V relays have 5 terminals.
    85 and 86 are the terminals to activate the coil relay, connected to positive and ground connections, usually by a switch
    30 is the common terminal to be switched on or off
    87 is the Normally Open (NO) terminal which is connected to terminal 30 when the coil is activated
    87a is the Normally Close (NC) terminal which is connected to terminal 30 when the coil is NOT activated

    Are all rfid readers like this? Where you need to reverse it? I see some now with boards that appear to have options for how the 12v load will react. Have you seen these? Great vid, appreciate the upload!

      I used a cheap immobilizer from eBay, so you could probably find a different type which does turn on/off at will. There's probably also a way do make one with Arduino modules.

      @@pfaudette thanks for your input Pierre. Think a 12v relay can handle 48v at little to no amperage? I'd like to use this 12v to trigger a relay to switch a 48v ignition system on/off. So essentially a keyless rfid ignition system.

      @@mygt8a4re 48VDC would likely burn out the coil of a 12VDC relay. The RFID reader also would likely not work above 14VDC.

      @@pfaudette appreciate the input. I was going to run the reader off 12v, use a 12v line from the reader to trigger the relay. I thought 48v with little to no amps would be OK but I'm sure your right. Maybe I can find a higher voltage relay that 12v can still trigger it? I'm certainly no electrical guru. Really liked your vid, inspiring for ideas!

      @@mygt8a4re Or you could use a third 12V relay, as the load in the circuit, to switch on the 48V, as long as the amperage of the relay can take it.

    Hi, did you came across any button on the pcb? Sometimes these buttons can be used to program additional tags

      No buttons or switches on the PCB, but there's an empty spot for a second relay, which could work. Not sure if there are other missing parts.

    Can it be fixed in bikes?

      It can if it has a 12V supply. The RFID receiver should ideally be hidden, but not behind a metal surface.

    Can you program more blue chips to the system??

    • @pfaudette
      @pfaudette  2 роки тому

      I don't think it's easy to program the receiver to recognize other RFID tags. You might be able to clone the tags provided with the right RFID writing device.

    Sir can you provide a diagram on how to connect the red black and green wires on motorcycle? Thanks in advance

      @pierreaudette3252 4 роки тому +1

      The red wire would go to the positive from the ignition switch, and the green wire to contact 86 on one of the relay, as shown in the linked schematic in the description.

      Just search on eBay for 'car RFID alarm immobilizer'. They're around US$10.
