- In this video I guide you through how I speed painted or used speed painting/some helpful tips and tricks to paint 3 (!) Grimdark Grim Dark Warhammer Khorne Chaos Daemon Daemons armies all at the same time! These armies can be used to play Warhammer 40,000 40k, Age of Sigmar or The Old World. I use alot of airbrushing for my miniature painting. One day I'll paint Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle too. why not paint this army for the new aos? newaos

This channel is about painting converting and kitbashing miniatures for your warhammer & d&d games, Age of sigmar, warhammer 40k games and Necromunda in a Grimdark Grim Dark Style most of the time. I will paint more Space Marines, maybe even Space Wolves, Sisters of Battle, Stormcast Eternals, Eldar Aeldari, Age of Sigmar armies too cities of sigmar, more chaos space marines, painting scale models or miniature busts in the future. Insane efficiency and speed there... I would definitely say to anyone new do not expect anywhere near this speed, but the procedure of doing it this way is good method to start learning

Great idea painting the hordes of little guys to completion in batches, saves on a lot of tedium just churning through them all step by step. Final result looks great, the grimdark really suits those guys, wouldn't be a real Khorne army without being covered in blood!

Yeah they definitely are! I see youtubers airbrush painting constantly without a mask! I even went as far to buy myself an extractor fan too ha. After the daemons my room was covered in red ink powder

IF you plan to paint a tyranid army may i SUGGEST to make them hayena theamed? Make both spotted hayenas maned hayenas and any other hayena pattern you can find- their lore can be that their fleet has eaten a world that had hayena like creatures

Amazing paintjob and efficiency! Only thing that bothered me is that the second Belakor was for the Aos Blades of Khorne army and not for ToW lmao
(For those not familiar, there is no Chaos Daemon army in Age of Sigmar as each Chaos God has their own faction and Belakor is part of the Slaves to Darkness - until recently it was a viable strategy to play him as an ally in a Blades of Khorne army to get access to spells but they changed it so the Blades of Khorne now need to roll a dice to automatically unbind spells on a 5+ from friendly wizards)
Mystic Shield + the Bronzed Flesh prayer for a +2 on saves to beef up a bloodthirster was such a great thing to and I'm so glad a buddy of mine already owns Belakor so I didn't need to buy him for the few times I used that interaction in my Khorne army lmao
Yeah he's an ally. I don't play aos so wasn't aware of this. Either way then person who bought it has options now.
@@SlayerMiniatures Indeed. Options are always good. Any chance this was commissioned prior to the 15th of february? Because that is when it was changed.
It's a shame, really. I mean technically you can still play him but having a 1/3 chance of his spells being useless is just too swingy and he's not that great in combat for how many points he costs :/
Also, the Chaos Daemons are a legacy army for Old World too, so they won't ever get a book that includes named characters like Belakor. You could play him as a Daemon prince there but he's too large for that :/. I hate that so so much but it's a classic GW move so you can't use AoS models for ToW and vice versa.

Great project I love seeing mega scale painting like this. If anyone want to speed up the gold trim stages you can paint Vallejo premium candy brown directly over a bright silver for a perfectly shaded gold. If any spills over then you can just touch up with the silver.
Yeah I saw someone using a contrast over silver for a gold look! But it was after I started these! It's such a good time saver. Thanks for the recommend!

looks really good, your could speed up the whole process by airbrushing literally everything. I recently did some chaos demon engines and after the silver base coat I used iyanden yellow contrast over the trim (doesn't matter if you get the armour), then go over again with guilleman flesh to tarnish it..... it also darkens down the overspray enough so the rest of the army colour covers is nicely (in my case it was templar black but I have also done this with thousand sons using blue contrasts).
doing it this way I managed to paint up 2000 points of nurgle demons and 2000 points of thousand sons in a single afternoon...... it totalled roughly 130 demons and 70 thousand sons models. I've also recently painted up bout a quarter of my drukhari army (80 kabalites, 20 lychees, 30 wracks, 4 talos, tantalus, 2 archons, 2 succubus, 2 monks and all 3 named characters. did this in about 4 hours maybe 5 hours total without an airbrush by mixing my base coat with metallic medium and using sepia and earthshade washes...... black wash over the silvers as well then just pick up the edges of everything with some leadbelcher dry brush .

Just keep painting mate and the control will come. It's also about confidence too. I have done a few space marine guides. But not entire armies yet! I plan to do an entire blood angels army

Have you tried water based oil paints? It sounds like a very weird thing. But Winsor&Newton makes big tubes of oil paint that is soluble with water. I want someone who is accustomed to oil washing to give it a try.
I saw some of those in the shop and was tempted to give them a go. I imagine they act differently, especially for trying the reductive technique. Interesting!

Belakor can be used in 40k and sigmar with khorne daemons. In sigmar the army is called blades of khorne and belakor can be hired as an ally.

This is pretty awesome. I'd love to know if there was a way to magnetize the models to the bases rather than them all be on different bases for the different games. Would be amazing just to be able to hot swap the models between the games
That's a good idea but I imagine it would be very hard to do with the bigger models. You could give it a go??

Is the age of sigmar army played as part of the blades of khorne or slaves to darkness battletome? IIRC chaos daemons don’t have their own faction in age of sigmar

Nice work on the army, but I do have to make a little comment. You said you sourced cheap materials to do the basing, but you use GW paint, which is by far the most expensive paint out there. Why use GW when Pro Acryl, Vallejo and even the new army painter paints are cheaper and are, well better
Im not sure where you got that idea. In no part of this video did I say it was the cheapest I could make it.
I also use numerous brands in the video, including; vallejo, molotow, liquitex and gw! Probably more!
Where i used gw paint it was because I already had it available in my supply. And it is good. And the most commonly used..for people to use my guide.
For perspective...one bottle of ink (painted nearly all of the armies) so it's not an expensive paint scheme at all! The liquitex ink cost £6 for 3 armies. Thats pretty good value!! Glad you liked the army

They honestly aren't that expensive as armies go. Ebay for the win. £200ish per army isn't exactly realistic as someone's life earnings is it?
I painted a army in 300 hours.
As long as it was fun :) the time is irrelevant. It's just fun to show people what you can do...and show you don't have to overthink it

Everything was great until the basing. If you don't paint the actual bases it'll look a bit off - like it doesn't exist in the same world. Otherwise awesome job!
I did paint the bases? The basing material is an ashy wasteland. Looked quite good I think.
