I can never take a shootout seriously when a bike is deducted points because riders felt it was too loud I mean ARE YOU EFFING SERIOUS !!!!!!! C'MON LOL.
The best thing about KTM going broke is we won't have to listen to bike mags telling us 3 identical bikes are completely different machines. It's been making you guys look bad for a few years.
Kawi and Yamaha have won our shootouts in recent years . We get the same comment when they win. We get the same comments every year. Surprise us next time!
Glad triumph got 3rd it’s got everything and more with suspension, apart from maybe a horse or 2 on the Austrian bikes. 👊🏼🏴 The Suzuki looks the best with the blue seat
Shocking that KTM doesn’t put the same forks that are on the XCs (6500 spring forks) on the SX models with different valving. Ultimate MX 250 right there!
Every year it’s the same test on the west coast and at Glen Helen. The wide open Glen Helen track favorers the power of the Austrian bikes. If you tested these bikes on a East Coast track the results maybe different. Tracks are loamy and tighter.
If you would like to fund the flights for all the testing staff, transport of bikes, transport of the manufacturers out to a track let us know! That sounds like a great idea!

Honda and Yamaha ❤❤ the triumph is cool. Suzuki is still awesome Kickstart wont die on you like a battery and gotta love a full pro circuit exhaust best exhaust for a motocross bike imo. And cant wait for the ducati 450 to be here and triumphs 450 the rc edition looks nice. But im really starting to like the beta 450rx its an awesome looking motocross machine with a fmf exhaust or pro circuit if they made one for the beta 450rx. Im stuck between getting a honda crf450r again the new ones look awesome or a yz450f. Even s Suzuki rmz450 with a pro circuit or the beta 450rx....growin on me. Crf450r vs 450Rx 🤔 💭
I don't understand why some riders complain liked little girls about the yamaha being so loud, I have a yamaha and I also have a ktm, and I can't tell the difference in noise honestly.
Yamaha is my least favorite Japanese bike, but you’re probably right. They’ve been the most consistent over the past few years. Kawasaki builds fast bikes that don’t seem finished, and are not the most reliable. Honda makes great engines and they’re reliable, but are inconsistent from year to year. Suzuki makes extremely reliable bikes that are easy to work on and are great on short tracks, and dang good looking too, but yeah, they’re behind. And Yamaha makes a 2-stroke. Good for them honestly.
says the CRF surrenders some ground to the others due to tire choice... i thought most shootout's ran the same tires on everything to get a more accurate feel. low budget test eh?
So KTM corner better than gas gas and husky (5 stars) but favor "a more agressive cornering style", and du to air fork many rider have trouble entering turns.....I don't really understand, you don't describe an easy bike to corner ?! Could you explain that a little bit better ?
So I’ve been buying Dirt Bike Magazine, magazines since June of 1971 which should tell you that I’ve been doing the dirt bike thing for quite some time now. I have to say that any shootout that has a like compared bike size in the class that’s being sold as new in the same class and year should include those bikes to be a real deal factual shootout. This 250 motocross bike shootout is not representative and or legitimate unless you include all the bikes in the 250 class that’s being sold are being offered by all manufacturers as 2025 models. There are several Chinese bikes not in this shootout and not one of the two strokes offered as well. When Dirt Bike incudes all the available 250 motocross bikes in the shootout then and only then can you pick a true factual winner and that goes for any media type similar shootout.
I've been a suzuki fan my whole life, and it's sad that they wont update the bikes. They're too busy with outboard engines and highway motorcycles to care about the mx's..
@SteveSteeleSoundSymphony I've worked on them all I wouldn't say one is that much easier then the other they are just different.. just maitnace like having to do cam chains every 15hrs on the yz250f and that sort of ongoing maintenance
I want it to make noise but not make my neighbors hate me and get my local tracks shut down. Quiet is good for stock bikes, you can always make them louder. My stock Honda CB650 was so quiet I could not hear the engine at all over 110 mph
KTM with KYB and you have the perfect bike? Better watch out KTM - Triumph figures out a few things and they might drop you! What are the advantages of that air fork other than weight - honest question? manufacturing cost? Why do they stick with it?
@@quadcityracing Interesting. I wonder how the lighter front forks affect handling. I will have to get on one and try them. I'm leaning toward ktm for my next bike. I'm really not picky about plushness that much but like it if front end sticks/stays connected in ruts and corners in general.
as to why they stick with the air fork... no idea! at least they are putting spring forks on the woods bikes again. i like KTM but have been driven away the past 30 yrs by both the PDS direct rear shock and the air fork. first 10 yrs of the PDS was so bad i refused to own one. last 10 yrs of the air fork has kept me from getting a 350. just cant justify spending $4500 more on a bike to go with KTM's higher up-front cost, plus then get the spring conversion. poor KTM is just stubborn about trying to make their evolutionary ideas work i guess.
I'd like to apply to be your audio engineer for your vidoes. Great vidoe and information but no offense but the audio was pretty awful. Lost of volume changes and your mic definitely needs a pop filter. I graduated from the conservatory of recording arts and sciences in Phoenix,AZ and was actually the audio engineer for the biggest bmx podcast in the world at the time called "Rail the Berm" for my internship after I graduated. I'm not sure if you already have an audio engineer for your videos or if you just do it yourself. If you do it yourself don't feel bad it's actually not as easy as one may think.
