Cole I wish you and your brother could do motivational talks to our young people I am amazed by how hard you all work and I’m almost 70 I’ve seen many hard workers but your family…wow just wow!
This video reminds me of your early videos when we watched you "get stuff done." Those videos inspired me to get stuff done, too. Those videos did for me what professional motivational speakers could not, & I finally starting making progress getting my own chaos in order. Thanks for this one, Cole.
Get a flatbed take it to auction again..
Wear a respirator when cleaning up after mice. Also depending on the vacuum, you may be inhaling the
dust blowing through the vacuum.
Great job , one thing to add next time your scrapping bolt and especially screws but them in a 55 drum then put the drum in the truck. By just dumping them in the bed there is a great possibility of screws falling out onto the ground.
Your Dad must really appreciate you kids. You are all improving the farm and the family business.
I love your "organizing" videos the best ❤️! Great job, Cole & Cooper! Thumbs 👍!
I need Cole & Coop to come to my shop!😁
@@gregfeldman6818 they could then come to my house and de-clutter!!!
Cole don’t forget about the pressure washer at your farm. It would save you a ton of time. Make sure it’s got hot water.
Definitely wear a respirator if you do this, particulate rat poo is dangerous, I can only imagine what aerosolized rat poo would do!!!!
I think your ideas are right for your farm. The organization of your farm is very important and what you’ve accomplished over the past five years is amazing!
Thank you Cole always a joy watching y’all great job on the shop always good to see y’all working towards the future
Terrific video. Love the videos and how you present yourself. Nice job!!
Cole , You are so right , As I have always heard , You hit the nail right on the head . make it happen Cole !
I love the eclectic look of the shop. So much new and old. And it’s so satisfying to see it tidy
Merry Christmas to all the Cornstar family. I really enjoy the videos.
I've been watching for years and the transformation(s) over time are freaking amazing!
Love the vision and the hardwork!!!! You're inspiring mate!
Awesome video!! Really enjoyed it and your wonderful advice at the end. The only part that’s missing is the inside of the farmhouse. I hope you will bring us along with the repairs and renovations involved. Happy 2023❣️🎊🎉🎊
GOOD video, it does my heart good to see you prioritizing your time and being efficient. I'm not trying to rain on your parade but at 70 years old several suggestions jump out at me, first you need to keep a clear opening in front of the electrical panel so you can walk up to it and open the front for easy access, it's not just a fire and safety thing, it's also in the building and fire codes. The easy fix might be to swap the man door and bench/ tool areas to the opposite sides of the overhead door. Air compressor up in the air is a great idea, just frame up a corner shelf above head height. Think about removing the pump and motor from the tank and keeping them accessible, put the tank on top, make sure that the tank drain is easy to use, plumb it down to an easy to service height. For shop layout ideas you should take a video tour of C & C Equipment's shop in Nashville IN. Clint deals and refurbishes military and dirt stuff. Their shop is probably the best thought out and functional medium size shops I've ever seen. Tool and bench area, heavy equipment pit with pressure wash and pump out sump for washing under vehicles, I-beams in the floor to protect the concrete from tracked machines as well as a place to weld in tiedowns if/when needed, separate fab, plasma, machine, material storage bay Separate paint and prep booth/bay. His heavy dirt wash area is outside away from the building but with the steam genny and equipment in a shed, probably not ideal for you in your climate in the winter
Always very satisfying of a clean and organized building.
I’ve never regretted cleaning and organizing. It makes every job more efficient.
Wow! Great job cleaning that up!
Brilliance in a Corn Star. Your mind runs 50 times faster than what you say. That's a quality few have. Clutter in shop is like clutter in the mind, needs cleaned out & organized. Your exceptional.
We use galvanised steel dustbins for our grass seed , very effective at keeping the mice out.
Don't mount the compressor too high or you won't be able to drain the moisture from the tank easily.
Awesome clean out! You did great 👏👏👏
I absolutely love this kind of video the most. Taking something old and useless and making it new and shiny, not to mention useful again, is genuinely satisfying.
We have implied the same practices on our farm and it has made life so much easier and not so hectic.
I can’t believe how much stuff you have to clean all the time keep up on it and it never gets bad, least UA-cam is keeping you motivated and cleaning that is a plus for you!!!
You are an extremely smart young man, I really do appreciate what you do and say.
Yes I remember our barn floor was like that and we ground it down and we put this green Epoxy paint and nothing would soak into it it was easy to clean you could squeegee it off real fast I hope everything works out for you just make sure you paint it does a great job
It's always nice to see Cole and Cooper working together, and having fun, as well. Y'all are doing a great job!!! Will you come and clean out my shed? LOL. When we bought our little farm, the couple was downsizing, and left EVERYTHING with the house. He was a major DIY hoarder, and bought entire hardware stores, when they went out of business. He also left tractors, mowers, tools, etc, at no extra cost to us, so we cant complain too much. My husband is gone most of the time, so the sorting, tossing, repairing, etc, all falls on me. I need to 'hire a husband' for my to-do projects. LOL 😁 I sure do love your puppers. I have two German Shepherds, 1 Cane Corso Italian Mastiff, 1 Chihuahua Rat Terrier, 2 black and white Tuxedo cats, and 12 chickens, and they mean the world to me. It broke my heart when your other dogs died. I'm thrilled when I see these two pupperoonies playing and hanging out with you guys!! Warms my heart to no end!!!
Merry Christmas to you and all of your families!
When doing the air what keep the supply line as big as possible for as long as possible, also recommend running the vertical from your air compressor a few inches past the horizontal and put a ball valve at the end, will collect the majority of water from the compressed air, help keep tools alive longer
If you have to deal with mouse droppings you may find a respirator helps prevent E. Hanta.
Also three points of contact is a fundamental safety practice when climbing. As is clipping off with a safety harness when above four feet.
Farmers always be getting hurt cause they don't have anyone to make them work safe. You have to make yourself. You are your own safety department. And if you don't... All this work, everything, poof. Gone like that man.
Don't forget about sheet metal to cover the walls.
My exact sentiment on the respiratory!
I was having a panic attack seeing him sweep that rat poop up. A few years ago a woman cleaned up an old home out in the country south of here that had been vacant for years. It was reported she became ill with respiratory problems and then her young child did also. Both died and during autopsy it was discovered both had Hantavirus. Until then I never knew you could die from airborne particles being stirred up in rat poop. Please don’t do this again Cole!!!!
That’s what I was about to tell him!!
"...what would the farms needs be ... down the road..." Great way to think about the future instead of relying on dreams or wants coming to fruition. It's one thing to have dreams, we all do. But to use focusing language help turn the steps to get there into goals attained along the way.
Be sensitive to daddy Cornstar, that's his history you guys are changing. Wouldn't want to stress your pop out too much. Just saying! I know your a good son so don't take it wrong. I'm old too so I see the changes are good but not always easy.
Got hired by a realtor to clear a hoarders 2 bedroom bungalow with basement as the estate needed to sell. Unbelievable amount of metal in this place. The instructions were to “just get rid of it” which cost them $450.00. The nuts, bolts, screws, nails washers, springs, rods, anvils, clamps, tools etc brought us $1200.00. The stainless steel he had got us $475.00. And he was a book collector which we donated to the delight of the receiver. Not a bad days work.
it's nice to see an organized farmer, we had a scrap guy come around twice a year, filled his truck.
Cole I worked part time for my cousin an electrician for a few years and one thing I learned was don't try to figgure out where to put lights up until you have everything in place . Now the ptoblem with that is things are in your way, well we just added two rows of plugins on the rafters that way you hang a lite with a 6ft cord on it and you have a 12 ft. circle to put your lite.
Love your families work ethic!
Man thanks cole every time I see a video of you cleaning I go and clean my shop ot just gets me in the mood.
If they can't grind the floor you may look into industrial smooth-it concrete leveler, we used it in high traffic areas and under industrial equipment in manufacturing plants I've worked at
Cole - you are the cleaning machine !!! Awesome job !!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
Cole, to better utilize the warm shop /garage space, make a 2nd floor / loft in the far right corner which you can enclose and use for your gym, then you still can store items underneath. I would also install a cealing below the rafters to reduce height and total air volume which you are heating up.
As a lifter, I can say you don't want a squat rack and all those weight up on a loft. Keep it on the floor. If anything, put all the other stuff up in a loft.
@@DerekThorpe294 yes, heavy stuff underneath and lighter stuff up top.
Did Cooper get another dog?
If you put your grass seed in a Rubbermaid container the mice can’t get to it.
@@cindyzelmer9228 Yes he got a third dog. Two first ones got both ran over this year.
@@cindyzelmer9228 I've kept my wild bird seed in the garage in an Ikea flip top bin for at least 10 years, no mice have gotten at it. They're tough bins.👍😊
Wishing the Corn Stars
MERRY CHRISTMAS
One thing you may need in that shop Cole is shelving for filters & equipment maintenance... The vertical tool racks are a good idea...... I would make sure you do an outline of each tool on the board so at the end of your day you can go check & verify whats put away & what is still in use
Happy Holidays, have a good night Cole and family
If you are looking at air compressor for the shop that is big enough for your needs, look at a Kaeser rotary compressor set-up. Seen it on another channel & it looks like something you might be interested in. Shop looks great by the way, cheers!
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I get pumped just seeing what you want to do...
Farm is looking really good. Good job.
A great plan; it's wonderful to be organized, efficient, and clean. It's also a reflection of who you are as a family, and too, as business operators within and outside of your community. Being organized not only makes you more money, but makes your life a whole lot less stressful. Now and most importantly, I would like to wish You all and your Viewers a very "Merry Christmas"!
Merry Christmas from Texas🎄
great video. thank you guys and Merry Christmas
A+ on today's clean up job !
Huge difference in before and after. 👍
I would recommend leaving the air compressor on the ground so you can easily do routine and preventive maintenance. I've found that when equipment is not easily accessible it does not get the maintenance it is supposed to have. It's very important to drain the water out of the tank so the tank does not rust out along with keeping the air filters clean.
Love watching these types of your videos! It’s awesome to see how far your farm has come this year!
Great job. Looks very nice.
In my 55 + years Cole I have learned clean up after every project, it only takes a few minutes, and saves hours of frustration.
Another awesome job & video!
Nice work it looks great. Sounds like a good plan thanks for sharing.
I love your clean up/organizing videos, it's why I started watching your channel! Nice job!
Cleaned up good. You have a lot of plans going on in you head for sure. ALWAYS good to have a working plan.
Always great to be organized and clean. Nice job
I love Brownie. And that talking puppy♥️♥️. Shop looks great.
You never disappoint Cole ! You guys are such hard workers. I love your ability to organize and declutter!!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Looks like lots of hard work Cole. I love seeing you being so organized and getting all the clutter arranged to benefit your life on the farm better. But I also love seeing you and Nave do things together. We know you are married now but why haven't you made an official announcement about it here on your channel or on her channel? It seems like you are wanting to hide it from us. Are you going to do a video about your engagement, wedding, married life with Nave for us soon?
Good luck on finding the water leak. Our ambulance bay was a machine shed with sprayed walls and ceiling. The leak may be several feet from a drip point as the water runs on top of insulation for a long ways before it finds a hole to drip through
When I ran piped air in our "unheated" Barn/Shop in Wisconsin. I used 3/4" RapidAir Maxxline. Easy to work with and it never leaked as long as we lived there. I would certainly use it again..
Cleaning and organizing videos are the BEST VIDEOS
My Grandfather used cats to keep the mouse population down in the barn, and his machine shop, he never had to feed the cats since they ate the mice. He started farming in 1896 and retired in 1950. His tractor and combine and implements had a separate building for storage and did not have anything else in it. All his older equipment was taken up for scrap drives during WWII. Everything revolve around the barn, except the house he live in. He mainly grew wheat, but also raised hogs, chickens, and had cattle, mostly for subsistence plus the family garden where they grew vegetable. My cousins have the farm now, it is up in Langdon, ND, really gets cold up there. It only makes sense that things have really changed since then, and I do enjoy watching your videos and see what you are doing and how you have improved your farm.
Truly inspirational to watch you clean, tidy and organise your shop and is a source of motivation! Especially enjoy watching the finished product!
Thats my philosophy as well.
Everything has its place, and if it hasn't been used in 2 or more years, either donate it, sell it, or trash it.
I’m sure your local ReStore would have loved that donation. The profits help build homes for families in need.
i cant keep up and say thank you to everyone even if i tried i wouldnt remember who i said it to . i even forget to say i love you to the most important people the ones i dont know support me but are there. i have been through alot with you the world has felt your pain without you and i know you know your living a dream . cole i dont have words i dont you kept my chin up even though your intitled you made me laugh when we were both down . i cant say any thing less about you than i can about any other streamer except make more videos . your there for so many people tears and all we love all you .. i hope you give a real update soon happy holidays hug everyone
josh
I agree with the comments about the mice droppings. Not good breathing that stuff. Get yourself a "shed cat", neuter it so it doesn't go off looking for love and you have a mouse exterminator. A plus to neutering is no unwanted kittens. Did that at my last house that had a shed and it worked very well. Love your organizing in the various sheds.
Pretty impressive!! Keep working hard & don’t stop learning!!
Cole look at a divided open wireway (tray). Run the tray up about 12 feet from the floor. One side 220 Volt, other 120 Volt. Then make the brackets to hold the wireway wide enough to support both the tray and air pipe line. In that air line I would install tees every 8 feet for air anywhere in the shop. This arrangement is what we run in mills so you can drop and air leg down anywhere there is a tee and you can pull another wire line and lay it in the wireway to add and outlet of either voltage where and whenever you want.
I like the fold up bench idea you will save on space and easier to clean up you all have a merry Christmas and a happy New year hope twenty twenty three is great one
Not sure if you can get it in your state. But I use a product called “one bite”. It has to be bought at a farm center or like tractor supply. I buy it by the case. Wear gloves break it apart. Looks like mini square corn cobs. The nice thing about it is that it has a hollow center and I wire it in locations so that mice can’t drag it out where other animals might find it. It kills quickly and they have no odor when they die. You can also put it under the hoods of equipment being stored for the winter and they won’t be chewing up your wiring. I use it in the garage, the house, and the storage building out back. We have an indoor dog so I wire it under the frame of like the couch etc., or to pipes under the sink. Behind things like the dishwasher, washer dryer. And even in the A/C heat closets. My moto when it comes to mice… they may come in, but they don’t leave alive. For somethings like my costal hay I keep for gardening I use metal trash cans so no need for it there. And since my garden is organic that’s helpful. But since I’ve started using “one bit” I’ve needed No professional help. Anyway, even hanging or placing it around your tools etc., mouse will disappear at a farm I’m sure you can’t get rid of them all but it’s a start. For my home no mouse is safe. Of course I have the same feelings about spiders and those large nasty roaches that try to come in. Hate those things. Ok, I don’t like bugs!
I love the way your mind works 😊
Stay safe
Enjoying all the cleaning and organising. Love these vlogs!
Cole, Hun Tell DC, MC, Cooper, Summer and Nevaeh Merry Christmas. I love you all. Stay safe. ✝🎄❤
I love your work ethic. I love what you are saying. My oldest son is now 19 and he really needs to watch your videos. We are not farmers cole, but we are just trying to figure out our news lives without my husband as he is still in the hospital 6 months later.
May God be with you during this time. Know how you are feeling as I have shared your story.
Nice to see the building transfer in the making.
Enjoyed the organization and ideas
Great improvement!!! I love that you have such a vision for the farm. Always improving.
Had to laugh, in the section where you were saying mouse feces ad nausium, I was tucking into my dinner of orange glazed chicken, rice and broccoli! Bad timing on both our parts!! Lol.
Cole u smashed another video keep doing what u r doing Merry Christmas and a happy New Year xx
I sure could use your help packing, cleaning and moving. I'm disabled. You really clean well.😊
Really looking forward to the shop upgrade videos.
Look into doing French cleat storage on the walls. That way you can keep stuff off the floors and be able to change it as you want.
Wow awesome clean up Cole, great ideas. It's going to look awesome..
And for the idea on smoothing the floor out you can they make big grinders with diamond wheels on them. It will pretty much polish the floor but you will see the stones in the concrete then unless you paint it.
The puppy is a cutie, hopefully this one gets to its first birthday
Cole if you mix 1 cup flour 1 cup of baking soda mix well, will kill mice and rats with out hurting your dogs or cats works well. Place small amount in jar lids all around shops or home. Will be amazed how well it works. Love your show, haven't seen Nava in awhile.
I cleaned out my dad’s garage, he was a mechanic. I feel for you identifying all those tools and parts! I won the identity award from all my sisters!
Great to see you!
This kinda video is what I really like cole.
I’m a big fan of your cleaning and organizing videos.
I like the end result of your cleaning and organizing. I should have you do my garage. Haven’t seen the floor for 30 years.
That''s why we have winter season...to getting everything ready better for the NEXT seasons!!!
Suggestion for the air compressor: put it in the little garage by the shop and run the air to the shop. That way the noise of the compressor isn’t in your workspace
You guys are really hard workers 👍
