I don’t, because it’s just going to be hanging on the wall, but you can. If you make one from a food grade board to use with food prep, I buff it with mineral oil.
Will that make copies of a hand written recipe? Like my grandma's old one.
Yes, it will. You would need to have the recipe scanned, (or take a really good picture of it and run it through a basic photo editing program to clean up the background where it’s just the words) then you could upload that image into the program the machine uses, and it will definitely engrave it.

I do locally, but I got so swamped with things. I wasn’t able to offer them online this year.
