Unfortunately sometimes it is not possible to easily fix the problem. This video is intended for conventional USBs, not necessarily microSDs or others

So many thanks for the great video. My USB was not working at all, windows would appear the message to format the disk as soon as I plugged it in, and could not format it in any way.
I did all I could but none worked. The only useful method was using the software you mentioned, formatting, and then re-formatting using windows. It fixed the problem and now the Flash Disk works properly.

Hey man, none of them worked. But thanks for making such a great video. Someone has spent their quality time in making these videos. So these usb drives just "write protect" themselves aye? I tried 1-4 no bueno; im assuming 5 and 6 wont work either. I suppose usb drives are not a safe place to store data if the useability changes from just sitting. Not getting this whole write protection thing. I own it. I didnt write protect it but now its protected from me? Gotta love it...

Your solution 6 helped me but with a little modification:
- Click on your USB (when running the program) just as in the video, but then copy your "Chip Part-Number"*.
- Search for results on your browser with your "Chip Part-Number" + the word "format".
- Now you should find some results/tutorials/Company production help.
I tried to remove my USB drive's write-protection for hours without success, but with the info above, i got my drive working.
* If your "Chip Part-Number" has a "-" (hyphen), don't use the numbers on that hyphen's right side, just use the numbers on that hyphen's left side.
Glad you were persistent enough to find a workaround that works for you, and for posting it here. I will pin this comment in hope it will help others.

I was not actually sure if that solution would ever work if the other methods failed (I had a theory it could be a solution but have never tried it before, hence why I put it as an 'extra solution' rather than a main one). You're the first person who has commented this has worked after all the others have failed so thank you for informing me :)

Thanks it does the formating write protection error but when i was transferinf files the write protection error comes up again ! Its Transcend USB Stick 32GB
I thought already the USB stick is dead ... write lock and no option to change it ... solution 6 and a small program formated the disk and its free to write agan ...thank You man!!!

Got to the clean up part, and now my drive isn't even being recognised when I type list disk. Not sure what to do at this point :/

well it refused to clean and when I tried the chkdsk g; it said the file system is raw and chkdsk is not available for raw drives. what can I do next

the cmd one said *shadow copying the specified volume is not supported. As for the flash root, didn't have the utils too.
so none of the solns worked.

I typed chkdsk f (depending on what drive my usb is in) but it says:
The drive, the path, or the file name is not valid.

i tried the cmd prompt diskpart method in windows but it did not remove the partition write protection...i guess my usb drive is toast??

Maybe it's not on that website, try searching on Google manually with your USB details including the word UTILS

Once upon a lockdown, some bored fella (me) had seriously lost all hope for their usb, which had been effectively bricked for years. And thanks to having very little otherwise to do, and stumbling randomly upon a long forgotten usb; I understandably got very (and I mean VERY) keen to revive the blighter.
After watching three other videos and after failing every single goddam time up untill step 6 here; and despite my growing skepticism, that Russian site (FlashBoot or iFlash or something) came out with the words "Formatter Silicon Power v.3.7.0.0 (PS2251)".. reluctantly as a a last hurrah of sorts, i searched exactly that into google, only to get a link back to the same russian website (good ol flashboot), again, begrudgingly, I said "Well Ive come this far..."
- the usb was mere minutes from the bin-
Upon running this questionable russian exe (Formatter_SiliconPower.) It suggests you get any other usbs out and commences the purge!.. Exept all that returned was a poorly worded error(i think?) message, with an error code of 121; again, now seconds from disposing of the fooker I contemplate quitting -"Alright; once last hoorah ill give a ctrl+f of the russian website for the error code (121) and see if any russians were in luck"-. And bingo! well kinda, apparently several russians had seemingly also become derailed by this error (like QUITE a few).
At this point almost every drop of hope for this bastard of a usb has been drained or dried up, right until my eyes chanced upon the comment of a brilliant russian named Vadim ( I guess?, apparently Вадим in cyrillic- cheers google translate). Anywho, this russian legend had said something to the effect of "I worried in vein, had an error, launched again - everything ok." Which by jeeves neither him nor google translate was lying! Sure as schnitzel I didn't even need to re-run the formatter_siliconpower exe- just hit that reformat button AND BAM!! after 3 thousand failed attempts we fooking finally cracked back into our own USB!! *Howling with joy*
Seriously though this has been an enjoyable ode to: Robert! (Chirp, who posted this video), Vadim/Вадим (the invaluable russian stranger) and also that flashboot website too while im at it!
Probably worth noting my usb is a kingston (apparently actually Phison) data traveler 32gb usb3, with VID/PID combo of; 0951/1666
Also worth noting, the 'flash vendor' and 'flash model' collums were NOT filled with chip vendor and chip part info respectivley, however one of them (part number iirc) was listed under a different column (chip model iirc)- hope this helps someone
