@@elainepeltier2015 Yes I have a book from Eckhart Tolle. In the acceptance kind of way it has similarities but Eckhart Tolle has a lot of spiritual beliefs that ACT does not have.
Elaine Peltier for SOME people the spiritual material that Eckhart Tolle focuses on can be incredibly helpful. For me, spirituality made a lot of sense to me during a time that I was confused and hurt; later, science occurred to me as being a relevant focus to better understand my hurt. I still however feel that tug toward meaning making through prayer, chanting, and scripture. Spirituality is a different way of knowing and might be a useful method to transmit these ACT core processes. 🙏🏼

Thank you for the positive feedback, it means a lot to me. Let me know if there are specific topics you want me to do videos on! :)
Ive come here the morning of my second tele-session, I have no idea where the sessions will go. I left the first session feeling like I have a bit of a headache from thinking a lot lol Is that like everyone? I love it that you didnt sing the lamb chop song because it really goes on and on all day for me ha ha ha Thanks for explaining it more for me. I learned psychology 20yrs ago so therapy is not all a new concept to me.
I think all your videos are perfect. People who are critical need you as a psychotherapist lol ;)
Hahaha! I do like to say my door is always open. ;)
Im hearing you for the first time, such a engrossing video! You are amazing.
Wow, thank you.
It's a well constructed video for dealing with the complex and variety of mental health issues in a concise and summarized way. This summarized video clip of ACT will help in meaningful reading of the big volumes of the books on ACT by linking the preceding textual explanation with the subsequent / following textual explanation , Otherwise it will become very difficult for an ordinary person to comprehend the concept of ACT. Would like to have more such enlightening videos. Thanks
This is very similar to mindfulness and the acceptance and values taught in 12 step programs
Yes! Yet totally different. Cool, eh?
Hi Timothy Gordon. Really informative and and well presented video. Is ACT for chronic pain management video something you could do?

Really useful overview and intro to ACT - perfect for me today - thankyou!
I love ACT ,this therapy form has helped me the most
Julia Did you ever try reading or watching Eckhart Tolle? I know he talks a lot about acceptance and I am wondering if ACT is similar?
@@elainepeltier2015 Yes I have a book from Eckhart Tolle. In the acceptance kind of way it has similarities but Eckhart Tolle has a lot of spiritual beliefs that ACT does not have.
Julia Thanks!
Timothy Gordon Thanks very much. I find I like the spirituality associated with Eckhart Tolle.
Awesome video, thank you..I am returning to direct clinical practice with youth after many years as a supervisor. I'm looking for some solid frameworks to use and this is spot-on. might I request a specific video on how to use ACT with children and youth? Much appreciated., GC
Thanks so much for the positive feedback and YES! I’m happy to do a video on using ACT with children and adolescents, it’s a great model. I also have a book called The Acceptance & Mindfulness Toolbox for Children & Adolescents coming out soon. Keep an eye out for that!! :)

Knock-out video, TG! Splendid job of explaining ACT, which I am familiar with, and introducing me to relational frame theory, which I didn't know anything about. Or maybe I did - I just didn't have a name for it. I really like the way you deEastify (demystify)
Thank you so much Dan! Your comment has put a big smile on my face. :)
I plan on doing some fun follow-up videos on relational frame theory soon for sure.

I am currently working towards taking my BCBA exam after a Masters in Behaviour Analysis and many years previously working with trauma, and I have become super interested in ACT! Both for my own well-being and would love to study this in depth and become qualified to use to with clients. I found your video and passion so helpful and accessible which is greatly appreciated, and also love seeing part of behaviourism (RFT) being researched and applied with mental health and private events! Thank you for a fantastic video ☺️
Thank you for your kind words and congratulations on completing your masters!! Follow-up and let me know how your exam goes. 🙏🏼

what a joy to land on this video today! great !
Thank you for saying. 🙏🏼
So insightful!
Thanks for saying so!
First video I've watched on this therapy. Very easy to follow thanks. I do wonder how an approach like this works with people in constant pain or suffering? What do we do when changing our circumstance or condition is unattainable and the fact of pain is constant? Eg. Laying in a hospital bed with a terminal illness? Thanks for your work.
Thanks for the positive feedback Ryan. I appreciate that you’ve taken the time to write. Your question is inspiring me to make a video on the topic!
This work has incredible application to the world of chronic pain and terminal illness that requires a sensitivity to context. I hope it’s okay that I mention your comment in that video while discussing this topic!
great video!! thank you for organizing the ideas in the way you did
Thanks for saying so Jason! I’m going to be coming out with new videos soon, please keep a look out for them and let me know what topics you would like to see covered. 🙏🏼
Love your presentation on this topic🤲🏻😼
You did really good job thank you sir
Hello, sir. I'm a final student of Psychology and now working on a thesis about ACT on imprisoned father. I'm quite upset that I JUST found your youtube chanel cause it's very helping. Would you like to give some comments about my ACT modul? Thankyou so much. I would email you if you will...
Great explanation
Great presentation authentic, clear, logical and heartfelt-just as good as your heroes so keep going and spreading the knowledge that will help people to live more meaningful fulfilling lives full of pain and pleasure. Thank you
Thanks so much Kate for the positive feedback!
Another great video. This is a super-helpful and functional ( ;-) ) summary of ACT, and you clearly explain it. Open - Aware - Engaged with me, rather than my thoughts, feelings, memories, sensations & urges, in the driving seat and in control. Thanks, Tim.
Thank you Darren for checking out the video and leaving such a kind comment. It means a lot to me personally. 🙏🏼
This was super helpful, thank you!
Thanks for saying so! I’m going to be releasing some fun new videos on ACT soon!
Open Aware Engaged
I like it!
Thanks for putting this together for me in a video that makes more sense. The papers i've been reading for University on this therapy are very hard to understand.
Thanks for saying so and taking the time to comment! Just as a heads up, I felt exactly the same way when I was first learning ACT.
Great job! 🌟
