From a moral perspective it's dubious, depending on who you ask, but from a legal perspective it's not different from investing days or weeks practicing the style of an artist until you can recreate it perfectly, that's why AI art is such a grey area right now. The result is still technically his (or more accurately the AI's) creation, no one is going to sue him, all alchemaniac asked was not to get tagged on it, and this guy took it as the worse offense someone could have committed

TO BE FAIR (Playing Devil's Advocate here) Usually artists do not own the rights to commissioned works as they were paid to make something for the company to own and hold the rights to. If Hypergryph allows fanart or the art to be used in AI then Twilled is technically allowed to do that. I can definitely see the creator's side though of just personally not wanting their work to be used in AI art. This is similar to Doujinshi (I think that's what it's called) from Japan, it is fan works (Manga) using already copyrighted material that is then being sold which is technically illegal but the companies generally are more chill about it and do not shut them down usually. I can only remember three cases of a company stopping these type of things, one is when someone tried getting a tattoo of a character they liked, 2nd is when a fan tried to sell an ending of a series due to the original author dying before finishing it and third is when a restaurant tried to theme itself like persona 5 since they liked the game so much. It is extremely dumb to try and stop EVERY instance of these and costly to try and sue everyone so companies mainly target bigger problems but yes most people unknowingly do illegal stuff constantly but companies just don't care enough to stop it and some give their permission to strengthen the community and allow non-official events. I used to follow Twilled because of his translations of CN/JP comics and fanarts… until I found out his translations were not representative of the original material whatsoever and he would twist words and just write whatever he wanted. Most of the time these translations/art reposts were done without consent from the original artists as well. This was a whole drama back in the day too, so I unfollowed him and everything seemed to die down for a bit… until this whole ordeal. He’s now muted and I hope to never see anything related to him in my tl or anywhere. I can not stand such braindead behavior. Box will always find a way to lighten up the mood and talk about it in a funny way, which I appreciate. I hope Twilled leaves the fandom for good because he’s nothing but a nuisance to everyone

As someone who likes to draw and plays Arknights, it just saddens me when someone disregards an artist and their worth. Skadi's artist and every artist has the right to say how their work will be used. The current use of AI right now is already a concern, and this is one of those reasons. I used to follow Twilled because of his translations of CN/JP comics and fanarts… until I found out his translations were not representative of the original material whatsoever and he would twist words and just write whatever he wanted. Most of the time these translations/art reposts were done without consent from the original artists as well. This was a whole drama back in the day too, so I unfollowed him and everything seemed to die down for a bit… until this whole ordeal. He’s now muted and I hope to never see anything related to him in my tl or anywhere. I can not stand such braindead behavior. Box will always find a way to lighten up the mood and talk about it in a funny way, which I appreciate. I hope Twilled leaves the fandom for good because he’s nothing but a nuisance to everyone
