so..... aside from slightly faster string changing, what good are locking tuners? I have two sets and neither improved tuning stability, so I am just on the hunt for a solid reason to upgrade to these on any guitar.
Well, locking tuners don't increase tuning stability any more than any other quality set of tuners. It's kind of a misconception in the guitar world, I think. It literally serves to make string changes faster. Plus...they look dope.
@@Electric.Flamingoso really not much of a reason to get them then. The time saved when changing strings is negligible at best. Ball end frets is another one I need someone to explain the benefit of. I think your last remark kinda summarizes the whole thing. Quality is pretty universal now, so aesthetics is all that's left to sell on.
@@riffsnoleads I think they’re supposed to help when playing live (most players I know don’t always have a spare guitar), snap a string is a quick fix with lockers, I can change a string in about a minute or two. I also do think to do help on guitars with trems, they certainly don’t hurt when you have a bit of a sticky trem system. Plus they look cool in my opinion, not just a mod for mods sake.
I got the same Tele from Zzounds. The bridge was like a 2 year old installed the saddles, and was totally unplayable. I got "That's the way they come sometimes. You need to get a setup" as a response from them. Its fixed now, and is a grwat guitar. Why buy from them when you get the same trash that manufacturers send direct? My Love Drops V came from Sweetwater. The G string nut slot was pinging, and the bridge pickup was slanted towards the bridge. I told my sales Rep, and they paid to have a pro setup done to correct all the problems. That's a level of service that you can't seem to get anywhere else these days. 😊
That's a shame that Zzounds didn't take responsibility for that. It it was just a set up, they could have fixed that. Sweetwater is great! I had a problem with my Hot Dogger and they fixed it right up, sent a can of Dioxit for the pot and it was all good! How's that V playing, that wad a surprise drop that I was curious about.
I brought some Guyker locking tuners for about £30-40. They work ok, bit of slippage on the B string though, and two are extremely tight to turn, not the best quality I’ve purchased. I’ll be sticking to branded going forward..
Sounds like you got a bad batch. That happens. The ones I got are great and I say that regardless of the sponsorship of the video. For the price, I still say it's hard to beat. Guyker customer service would be more than happy to help with any issues, too, I'm sure.
@@Electric.Flamingo I have another sets of pegs for my acoustic under the name brand Wilkinson and it's awesome too same as this Guyker. Maybe they came from the same factory...
Great video. I'm interested in these for my CV60s stratocaster. Thank you!!
Thank you! Remember to hit that link in the description if you decide to pick some up! They are totally worth it.
MAN! those are stunning! I've heard lots of good things about Guyker so ill have to check these out for my own Tele!
You hear about them a lot for a reason. They really are awesome tuners! Check 'em out, great affordable upgrade!
I have quite a few different sets of Guykers, haven’t had a problem yet.
Quality products tend to last. Proof is in the locking tuners.
They definitely fit in for a nice look. When ordering 6 in line tuners to be on this side of the headstock, do we ask for ‘6L’s or ’6R’s ?
I believe that specifies the orientation. Whether it's left handed or right handed, so I would choose accordingly based off of that!
great vid, just did a vid on these my self on aa tele as well:) keep it up
Thanks! Real recognize real. ⚡️🦩

Im using the guyker 3x3 locking tuners on my 02 SG Crescent Moon. Love em.
Nice!
Bushings not ferrule, nice upgrade 🤙
I actually remembered the right word after I published the video and thought "damn, too late now, I guess." 😅

Are these locking tuners staggered?
They are not staggered.

Guyker is the new Gotoh!
I agree. They have some dope stuff, not just their tuners. Genuinely love their stuff!

from my experience, it's not a good locking tuner it seems :(
I hate to hear that. One bad experience (if it's only one) shouldn't drive you away from it, though!
Incluids paid promotion-😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Perhaps Webster can send you a dictionary so you can learn to spell "includes" correctly.
