9 years ago we had sudden rain & flash flooding where I work, I arrived with my EV and another big truck made it in, work was cancelled as some gas cars were getting stuck trying to leave or enter, I Just finished what I had to do for the day & drove home no issues driving past the stalled vehicles - that car still drives like when new.

I live in san francisco. What happens here is some streets get flooded and if your a local to that area you know how deep it gets but people still try to go thru and ruin their car. This might be what happened to this person. Theres videos on here. The city even puts a sign when it rains heavy on that street and they ignore it and attemp it. I don't get how you would even try. The water can still get into the cabin area and ruinthe interior. Once the rug gets saturated the smell will be hard to get rid of.
It's splash proof not fully water proof it's not a boat, water would get in a eventually. electrical part will get damaged for definitely I have worked on these cars that why the fender is coming of its not as good as u say.
The water is coming in through the AC drain hole, and then later he can make a video on how to get rid of the bad smell, and why all the low voltage electronics fail.

Flooding the battery once opens these ports, the second time allows the floodwater in. That's why these batteries are not warranted for floods.
You see, when you want to go into deep flood water you need to either enable a special mode in the car that creates a higher pressure inside of car or just put the air into highest possible mode and it will do similar thing. Now when you open the window you remove all that effect and the water can pour into the car without any resistance
When you see where the vent holes are for the front and rear drive units and the battery, you’ll be crying after doing this. $7k for each drive unit and close to $20k for the battery. Tesla won’t honor the warranty when they find the water inside.
Where are they located? There's big puddles on the road right now. Now that deep but big enough that when you drive through them fast they spray up water super high and if you were in an IC vehicle, you'd def worry about intaking some water and bending a connecting rod.

I thought the same at first, but Teslas are very safe. You can charge in a thunderstorm with heavy rain and it will be just fine. It was designed to handle it safely.

Why would I turn off, you will never be able to drive an EV on the rain. They’re waterproof except if you have salt water, which is corrosive and eventually would find its way unless it’s regular rainwater that’s not salty. Doesn’t have an issue.

Battery and motor are completely sealed so the car will run just fine as for the bearings and other mehanical componets and small eletronics it might need some work hahah

That's what I was thinking. They're supposed to be sealed well against rainwater intrusion but it wouldn't surprise me if there's a pretty easy way for the seals to fail in a way that driving with the battery underwater gets it wet. If that happens I would also be concerned that the battery can discharge into the water so that any person in contact with the water could be electrocuted
On one hand, you don’t have to worry about flooding an engine. On the other hand, I imagine there’s a lot of other parts in there that shouldn’t be fully submerged like that.
