Aside from ship designs with their Elven Destroyers they didn't really bring anything else. Once they left the Alliance they no longer had access to the technology they once had. The new one just has the building slowly exist from transparency, the old you can see pillars rising and shit.
I'm not sure how to feel about the new high elf farms looking like modern blood elf buildings. My impression was that high elves before leaving the Alliance were somewhat more holistic than blood elves. But oh well, it's still a really good texture.
High Elves and Blood Elves are the same, they simply changed name and adopted the colour red as a tribute to the blood spilled by the victims of genocide in Quel'Thalas.
@@Tiucaner I know they're genetically the same race but they aren't culturally the same, they changed culturally as a result of the 3rd war. The farms shown here are from the campaign missions where the Scourge invade Quel'Thalas, so BEFORE the high elves became the blood elves. That's why it looks contradictory to me, it's a retroactive cultural change to their architecture, or at the least looks like it. It's not bad looking just weird.
@@oinkleberry Culturally they are the same as well because they are the same people. These changes better reflect the changes between Night Elves and Blood Elves than in WC3 Classic. Every building looked the same and just had different textures to differentiate the two people.
@@Tiucaner They really really aren't the same culture, one has a drastically different outlook on life because they suffered their civilization being leveled by the Scourge and the Alliance abandoning them. What you're saying is like saying America is the same as it was before the atomic bomb was invented. The high elves were more holistic and willing to mingle with nature in a pacifist manner, but then the blood elves became much more arcane-dependent because of the Sunwell being destroyed and thereby they developed withdrawl symptoms from the magic drain and had to widespread delve into arcane arts as an entire culture, not just a caste of elves that wanted to study magic. This is the very logical explanation behind their architecture originally looking a *little* bit like night elf architecture, but only when it came to villages and forest lodges. It was like a cross between night elf & human in style. In WoW literally right now high elf lodges like that still exist. Their architecture changed because THEY changed. So retroactively changing their _farms_ to look like modern blood elf buildings is really weird.
@@oinkleberry Only a few years passed between the Scourge genocide and modern WoW, not enough for a cultural renaissance to happen and if you take a look at WoW, you can see a good portion of Silvermoon is in ruins, which means they never rebuilt fully, so the architecture is suppose to be the same as shown in this video. High/Blood Elves were originally the Highborne from the upper classes of Kaldorei, that abused and almost worshipped arcane magic. This never changed, if anything it only exacerbated their dependency on it. This didn't change their architectural style besides adopting the colour red after the genocide.
It is amazing how they now care for the smallest details. No more abusing same model for different character of the same type as typically seen in the case of the Paladins.
NGL, it's neat that even the short-term heroes/opponents you face in the campaign get unique models so that not everyone looks like a clone of the generic multiplayer paladin.

Warcraft universe must have far more abundant metal resources. Their improved emergency militia is better armored than most medieval age high ranking knights, and their footman are armored like kings and lords.
Now that I’ve seen a few of these videos, I think I can say that most of the models are pretty damn good. The thing I think needs work is the lighting in the portraits. Since that’s what you’re going to be looking at up close, poor lighting makes some of them look way worse than they are.

even the building animation. The new one just has the building slowly exist from transparency, the old you can see pillars rising and shit.
Archers and swordsmen from high elves are amazing!
I really hope they keep the authentic music.
Call me nostalgic, but some of the old ones still have a feeling of badass on them.
Idk how to feel in the less glowy and particle heavy reforge
It does look a lot duller than regular Wc3.
And the elves look like Skyrim Nazi high elves.
@@muffinman2546 Preordered
I just want to appreciate from my heart that all elfs and girls have became gorgeous.
hope "WHOSYOURDADDY" will work in Reforged too!
phoenix in reforged is so... dull
also elven advanced towers are indistinguishable from one another.
but the paladins received an upgrade
You think Admiral Proudmores Blunderbuss or pistol whatever will have an attack/spell animation? That would be cool if it did
It is amazing how they now care for the smallest details. No more abusing same model for different character of the same type as typically seen in the case of the Paladins.
NGL, it's neat that even the short-term heroes/opponents you face in the campaign get unique models so that not everyone looks like a clone of the generic multiplayer paladin.
The old water elemental and phoenix looks better than the new one xD
Are you fucking serious ??
@@pogchamp2897 Yes. He is. Look carefully. Model itself looks better on new one but effects are almost non-existend!
I hope this models are still in work.
I really like that Antonida's staff has the same model as the one in World of Warcraft that drops from the Lich King.
Aww man hope they add the spinning glaive animaition as they prepared to attack back to the spell breakers in reforged, and the make the elf units less stiff (specifically archers)
pretty amazing how blizzard put details in arthas wielding frostmourne model. back on wc3 it was just the normal arthas model with the hammer switched with frostmourne. now his hair is a bit whiter, and his armor is a bit frozen
Oh heck, those remodeled villagers will be a feast for those massacre campaigns and maps!
reforged wilkl be so nice for custom maps with all these distinct character models of random heroes and creeps
Tears are slowly rolling down my eyes. My childhood video game, Warcraft 3. One of the best all time strategy game. If there is no warcraft. There is no Dota, league of legends, starcraft or other games that are strategy or moba games.
Cant wait for HDT CBBE mod o.o
Glad to see Sorceress still bangable
Still need a lot work but these models are on the good way. Can't wait to see final results.
Except for the paladin who looks like Arthur Shelby from peaky blinders on steroids lol
finally the human child looks like a human child not some martian alien trying to disguise as human lol.
Makes me want to use the map editor to build Suramar and Silvermoon using those models!
An elf would have thought of something better
I think some of the buildings had some bad changes but rest is an amazing job and i also think the sorceress blue flares at eyes looked nice
Phoenixes are actually a step down
Most particle effects are more boring
Some attack animations are far less individual
Agreed
Some of this stuff isn't finished yet if you couldn't tell.
They are doing models first & special unit effects later.
There's always that one guy.
@@xTheWolfman1991 Well he's correct
Why is blizzard trying to pretend like high elves never existed
7:16
true! no blue eyes in the models
@@Nacho-rj if you noticed they were wearing the colours of the blood elves from the TFT expansion. There are high elf models and buildings for the Warcraft 3 original campaign
Warcraft universe must have far more abundant metal resources. Their improved emergency militia is better armored than most medieval age high ranking knights, and their footman are armored like kings and lords.
Ahhh finally big shoulder pads, that is what we all waited for. I'm just a little disappointed they aren't as huge as we all expected but it's okay.
The Reforged models are def better than the old ones but the old models have sentimental value that makes them on par or better
Admiral proudmoore's fun looks like a horn used for old bikes or something lol
wow huge improvement cool
ty for the vids
I like spell breaker new models
It’s good
In my list it’s number 5 for sure
Tower Defense is going to be LIT with those new towers
Invoker, CM, Kunkka, DK... just cant wait
Now that I’ve seen a few of these videos, I think I can say that most of the models are pretty damn good. The thing I think needs work is the lighting in the portraits. Since that’s what you’re going to be looking at up close, poor lighting makes some of them look way worse than they are.
If the game will be much more moddable than the original, then there will be a lot of new models and game modes. Actually there could be separate blood elf faction, dwarf faction, Naga, Tauren, etc. I hope the night elf models will be gorgeous.
Militia isn't using axes anymore, this makes me sad :(
Yeah. Although they do look great overall. Too bad call to arms still has a countdown..
I think they look better with swords and I like they have wooden Shields instead of metal.
Wealthy lords spending the extra metal to give militia swords. Axe made sense since they are meant to be poor militia. Sword doesn't fit with rest of style militia has.
I'm gonna lose it, can't wait for this to come out.
The music brings back memories
Child no looks like satan’s incarnation
