  • Thanks to the Vaudreuil Sport Centre for their awesome gyms centremultisportsvaudreuil.com...
    This is a basic technique that will allow you to keep the ball on your side of the net and let your team have the first hit on the ball. A lot of new players on the Canadian National Team struggle with this technique. Learn it right now and play like a pro!

      Actually, i need to practise my smashes, cause they are weak. I want my smashes to be cleaner and harder. Could you by any chance make a video about it?

    Hi! This might be a little bit unrelated to the video but I started my first sport training in my whole life which is volleyball, so i never went to play any other sports before. I tried overhand spike when I serve but it always hits the net, I know what I need which is power, I'm a skinny weak person who doesn't even workout yet and i have no idea how can I get my serves over the net.

      +Dwain Pablacio Hi Dwain, there is a LOT of information in the message you just sent haha and some of these questions can be answered by watching our previous videos. If you manage to get momentum when you serve, it doesn't matter your size or your weight, you will be able to put the serve over the net.
      What is really important for someone starting volleyball and trying to serve is to identify the main reasons why there's a failure. #1 the hand has to be hard and will guide where the ball is going. #2 the toss is really important and you should make sure that it's not too high (previous videos) and that it's in front of you. #3 the arm swing is also something that will make it easier for you to serve specially if you keep your elbow high.
      here's the video to which I am referring too

      Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate

    nice video! :)
    what positions did you two play in your national team?

    • @JumpVolleyball
      @JumpVolleyball  8 років тому +1

      +Jakob Higer Thanks Jakob. Ben played libero on the national team but he played a lot of leftside on other teams. I made the national team as a leftside, switched to the middle during my years as captain and finished my career on the rightside. Growing up, positions were irrelevant to me, I wanted to play volleyball, no matter where on the court. It served me well :-)

      +Jump Volleyball Thanks for the replie! :)
      I suppose thats the right attitude towards the whole thing! For me this was a little different, I started playing volleyball 2 years ago (i am now 17 years old) and played for my team as a setter now for half a year, but I always wanted to play as an attacker.. Now however, I love my current position, and look forward to improve!

      Keep the attitude and there's always a possibility that you can change positions again so make sure you keep passing every now and then if you want to keep that skill up to date :)

    can you please make a video on how to attack strategically while facing two blockers coz I really lack the confidence while doing so and my spikes end up getting blocked..

    • @JumpVolleyball
      @JumpVolleyball  8 років тому +1

      +Srikanth Avasarala Note taken, thank you.
      Why do you get blocked? Does it matter? What happens when you try to hit beside the block? What happens when you hit hard on the top of the block? What happens when you roll the ball right over?
      If you don't know the answer to these questions, it means you haven't tried enough and you haven't failed enough. Go out and do all these things and see what happens? Remember that being blocked is always a better option than making a direct mistake!!

    why is his right foot in the front when he tries to pass the ball to the right. shouldnt his left foot be his frontfoot?

    • @JumpVolleyball
      @JumpVolleyball  8 років тому +1

      +Alaggs This is for weight transfer. By having his right foot forward, he can transfer his weight from the left foot to the right foot which will make his weight go towards the target. If he has the correct platform angle, this will make his job to bring the ball to the setter easier.
      Ben Josephson, Head Coach at Trinity Western University, likes to say, angle to target and lean to target. Here, having the right foot forward allows the guy in the video to lean towards the target.
