I've been making agar agar jellies for years and I've never heard of pre-mixing the agar agar powder in water first. I would have stirred in the agar powder with the sugar then add the water and sweetened condensed milk and bring it up to a boil, stirring well to dissolve for a minute or two then lowering the heat for another minute, give or take.
It's pretty standard for any mirror glaze recipe you'll find that calls for agar agar. Soaking it in water first allows it to bloom and avoid the risk of clumping in combination with the other ingredients and then having to start over.
I tried it as well and I agree. At first glance it already felt like there's too much agar-agar but I thought I'd just follow the recipe anyway and it was wayyyy to much agar2 powder!
I've found vegan sweetened condensed milk (Whole Foods in USA). I can NOT find vegan white chocolate (couverture or "regular"). Please list your brands used and place of purchase.
This can't be called Vegan mirror glaze as you use white chocolate and condense milk that both contain MILK which is an animal product, should be titled as Vegetarian mirror glaze
@@ananyashyam1625 No, vegetarian food still includes dairy products which comes from exploiting animals. Vegans don't consume or buy any animal derived products like milk, cheese, honey, leather etc
Are you looking for vegan mirror glaze? You can buy vegan white chocolate, and there are recipes on here for making condensed coconut milk, if that helps?
Please take this video down, followed your recipe to the T and I've seen more mirror in a red brick, the consistencies you use and the finished product is what can I say 'Afuckingtrocious'!!!

Thank you. Have you tried without extra sugar?
exactly my thought. Trying to cut back on added sugar in desserts. :)
I've tried it. The water to agar agar powder ratio is off.

It just depends on the strength of the agar
Can you use milk chocolate too?

Wow you put way too much agar. You could of used a tablespoon and made it liquid and would of been better
