I'm French and I haven't used english for so long so I'm sorry for my bad english! Good luck to all japanese learners out there, you can do it, it will be hard but we are in this together 😄💗💖I started learning japanese in 2018 and hope I can visit Japan when my health will be better 🥺
推し is one of my fav japanese word, as a jpop fan, I had to learn all the jpop fandom japanese vocabulary to survive talking to japanese jpop fans and I must say that it was so long to learn all these terms like 同担拒否、同担ok、推し変、and the list is too long it would take a page to list all of that fandom vocab but at least it was easier to learn it than learning all the jpop 仲良しコンビ names and ケミ名 of jpop idols mainly because sometimes it's just the two family names of the pairing of idols who are mixed but sometimes it has nothing related to their family names and you have to understand by yourself where it came from and who japanese jpop fans are talking about xD like in the jpop group INI one of the ケミ名 is おにボ which has nothing to do with the names of the idol pairing, it comes from おにぎりボーイズ because in an onigiri the rice is white and the seeweed around is black representing the members associated colors black for member Nishi Hiroto and white for Goto Takeru. And sometimes even japanese people don't know where some ケミ名 came from when it was chosen by idols themselves so good luck with that xD I'm into my 15 year of being a passionate jpop fan and I'm a fan of so many jpop idol groups I could spend 100 years to cite all of them so imagine how many fandom japanese fan term I had to learn, because some fandom term are use for idols of a specific agency for example. And then you know all of that and spend like 95% of your free time with japanese jpop fans speaking in japanese, you have this very weird thing happening to you, I find it so difficult to speak with non japanese jpop fans because if they don't speak japanese I have absolutely no idea which of ケミ名 and 仲良しコンビ have equivalents in the international fandom vocabulary. You also have the colors associated for each members of the group for example one of my 推し is the 赤色担当 of his idol group meaning his member representative color is red, it's the kind of expression you can see in the jpop fandom japanese speaking community so it's good to know what it means. And it's not the last thing you have to learn because now you have friends to fangirl with you on jpop idols so you enter the realm of what I love the most fangirling in japanese about jpop idols and their songs like
    やばやばやばビジュ良すぎて言葉にならない
    イケメンすぎて死ぬ
    この表情たまらん
    ビジュ良すぎて泣いた
    マジで好きすぎるこの曲
    歌詞がすごく心に刺さる
    この曲が頭から離れない
name of the group + のおかげで毎日幸せ
    ビジュ神だよね
    ダンス上手いしビジュ最高すぎ
and I will stop there before this comment gets too long haha
But another type of Japanese I'm currently learning inconsciously is fanfiction vocabulary ! Japanese is a very long road but it makes me so happy and learning japanese is fun when you do it your way without pressure 💝Special thanks to my japanese friend who I talk a lot about japanese BL dramas and jpop because he made my japanese improve so much just because one day I asked him 推しは誰かな? and we discovered we have the same 推し, it's like that we became friends and I owe him a lot 🥰
