Attacking nine times while hasted isn't that crazy, Four could do that as well is someone hasted them. The fact that he can attack 9 times at advantage with autocritting divine smites is what makes it stupid

Hell yeah, been watching dimension 20 for a long time and recently started watching the latest season of critical role after thoroughly enjoying seeing Aabria DM exandria unlimited and getting so attached to the characters.
My favourite part of campaign 3 was the interactions between Travis' character and Dorian and I'm looking forward to seeing him and Brennan interact.

@@Rexzilla4508 I think the other 2 are from the echo knight's ability to attack with the echo when you take the attack action. With action surge that would be two extra attacks, Im not sure if you could then attack again with the haste attack action.
@@Rexzilla4508 So 2 from level 5 ranger, +1 for gloomstalker, + 1 from unleash incarnation. 4 attacks in an action x2 for action surge. +1 for the hasted action attack. I think if Brennan had a +3 modifier in con he would've been able to use another unleash incarnation on the hasted action, the way the ability is worded.
Who is the real monster though
Since his echo came out before combat, he could have gotten a 10th attack from Great Weapons Master's bonus attack on a crit or kill. Shame he missed that extra 75ish damage.
I love how it's Fighter, fighter, bardlock, wizard and then there's Brennan as adventurer as no-one on the UI front knew what to call the smorgasbord of classes that Five is

a level 3 fireball can easily top that with enough orcs standing next to each other. 30 orcs taking 30 damage would be 900 damage.

I think my favorite part of Brennan's Wild Build, is that BDave did a DnDBeyond video where he detailed out this specific idea for a build like a year ago, and Brennan brought it back around to attack him.
I just knew having satine, robbie and brennan as players would be a delight. Then brennan did 800+ points of dmg and my brain exploded oO

I knew I needed Brennan at the Critical Role table. What I didn't realize is how badly I needed Brennan and Robbie at the same table.
I know this happened awhile ago and is as specific a niche thing as possible but Brennan's interpretation of a rabbit warrior is exactly the image I had in my head 2 decades ago reading the Redwall book Series by Brian Jaques
Why is Pentival a rabbit-person? Because his entire build is an opening-round burst, and then he's done.
It's a tortoise and hare joke.
Which Brennan fully leaned into with the RP of being "pooped" after that one round. 1:50:20
And the later mention of being useless after his first round in general, even if he wasn't stunned; that's what tipped me off to the reference.
He also gets the bonus to initiative which is integral to the character build.

When B.Dave first described the encounter I thought "This is way too much, Vox Machina, with seven members (and bear), struggled with one of them. Then Brennan happened. Then the second part of the encounter happened. This is insane, and I love it
Yeah, Critical Role PCs are only sometimes partially optimized. Vox Machina really just had a ton of powerful magic items. Scanlan was actively un-optimized in certain areas. Brennan on the other hand created the ultimate alpha strike character.
That group of voice actors is optimized for role-playing acting, Brennan is optimized for that, AND for min/maxing. He's a person that understands the actual mechanics of the game.
Also Matt's monsters usually have about double their normal amount of hit points to compensate for the large party

Vox Machina would struggle against a coughing baby if Matt wasn't there to remind them of the rules. Those guys a least know the rules and built characters that are competent.
People watched the character build for Five and really wanted those crits to land (11 nat 20's!). 1:44:15 is when the ridiculousness ensues.

We went on a quest to figure out his history, but he stuck with 'Bones' because he liked it better.

@@jamesdelgallo8181 he didn't get it in this combat, but he has 3 levels in assassin rogue which lets him auto crit if the enemy is surprised. Getting 9 attacks all auto crits is totally within the realm of possibility for this character
@@TheButler98 yea obviously he didn’t roll the crits but it’s entirely possible he could’ve plus his butchers bib gives him crits on 19s as well. He also started having worse damage on those later rolls. It’s entirely possible down the line he goes for a 1000 or much closer to it if he got more ideal roles!

I feel kinda bad for Robbie, because he didn't get to fight the bad guys due to deeply in-character motivations and highly technically chicanery on Brennan's part. That was something like 700 points of damage in a single turn, god damn.

this actually hit me in the feels as a survivor whos genderfluid and was treated like shit by the services(surprise police arent the best) and ended up chronically disabled at 19 as a result but i can assure you it means a ton to people especially communities who are often excluded support or are treated really badly at their weakest. Sorry, I'm from Vancouver, I had no idea anyone outside the lower mainland knew wavaw, this is amazing, wavaw is absolutely wonderful!
Oh and for anyone worried by the name (Women Against Violence Against Women) since it's, unfortunately, exactly the sort of name a terf group would use: they had the same concerns and have actually recently changed their name to "Salal Sexual Violence Support Centre" - they are incredibly gender diverse, they provide support for anyone fleeing violence or in need of resources and/or support for survival and safety, and there are trans people integral to the organisation on every level.
As someone who has played several characters from level one to twenty, I can say the powerful characters are controlled by players who know their characters inside out, had spent hours and days crafting every facet of the imaginary being until they become as real as the players themselves.

To be fair, as much as I love the story behind the correct/incorrect pronunciation, I just say it like the actual word as well on account of that being how it is spelled, how the word's meaning lends meaning to the city's status, and habit from saying it the normal usage English way outside of referring to the City of Doors.

I once saw someone defeat a Tarrasque with some glue, a Bag of Holding, a Mage Hand, a second Bag of Holding and a Quickened Spell second Mage Hand. No saving throw for a dimensional collapse, no proc for the Legendary Resistance.
