Hey cleetus. Long time follower. I’m a technician at Mercedes Benz. You do a lot of engine swaps so look into a coolant air lift for coolant fills. Game changer for sure. No manual coolant fills.
See this guy knows what he's talking about ! Of course on a new motor you don't want to add coolant until you know the motor is correct . So you add water first then drain it when it's right NOW you're ready to race !
@Lassi Kinnunen you can only run water in the.cooling system of the car at the track because antifreeze is slippry and if it spills its a big cleanup process. Just water in the radiator and it will just dry by itself or with minimal effort. The tool he mentioned in the original comment im sure will work with just water and doesnt require coolant too

We don't see much of him interacting with Jeremy, but he soon fitted right in and he's now an indispensable part of the channel. Exactly why I did my TSP 416 first crank WITHOUT my F1A-94 procharger hooked up so I could hear the engine, not that crazy loud PC whistle. But I congratulate the builders I did this build + holley port the last few months and it's a LOT of work. No joke. Best of luck.

I would recommend investing in a Snap-On or Bluepoint coolant injector. They virtually eliminate the possibility of air pockets as the tool pulls a vacuum on the cooling system then sucks the coolant/water in. They save soo much time..
@@Torchedini the intake he has on it sits exactly as high as the stock z06 supercharger, and if you look at the cowl screen you can see the intake doesn't even go over the weather stripping..

I recommend the AMP open style catch can it fits where the stock air box goes I see you have some room there. It fits super nice and works great for big cube motors on boost. In fact I combined the AMP (for my valve covers) and a MMS mild to catch my crankcase since it's a closed vacuum style. That helps with fumes in the cabin but still ups my capacity for letting crankcase + valve cover pressure out.
We have been seeing a lot more little moments since the month of freedom started that we would usually miss and I absolutely love seeing them joke around

Anyone else notice dead-even compression while cranking? That's a sign of a perfectly built engine. All too often, you hear a high/low note and know right away there's something wrong.
@@cobyfield9237 No, I notice by listening to how evenly the engine turns over before it lights. Sometimes, there's an obvious rhythm, or fast/slow spots that hit every revolution. Most noticeable is when it sounds like the starter is straining to get past a certain point. You can hear this without a lot of science data. Worse, is when the compression is a lot lower in just one cylinder. It sounds like the starter speeds up for a moment, then settles down.
I just spent 13 hours crawling around on the ground taking a transmission out of a 98 f150 and these dudes just spent 18 min to slap in a new motor... lol
You guys should invest in an Airlift coolant fill system. They are only $150 or less. They vacuum all the air out of the cooling system and will tell you if you have a leak(won't hold vacuum). I love mine I bought for work 7 years ago
this is what you need to get to help with coolant system air bleeding problems, Schwaben Cooling System Coolant Air Purge/Refill Tool. I always have problems getting the air out of my WRX, and this was the solution to it. it works awesome. just copy and paste it to search for it. awesome video keep up the great work!

I always prefill my oil filters before installing. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I heard it does, so I do it.
When you fill you tank is when the engine goes. Yup that is true in my experience
Same with a fuel pump that requires dropping the tank to replace
