Lets check out the AWESOME main battle tank in Stormworks Search and Destroy! I had to hide underneath the thing for a while because we were under attack from the enemy aircraft from the very beginning. After that though, we got to testing!

Custom Creative Mode
Play the game how you want. Custom mode gives dozens of creative tools and options, suited for players who like to let their creativity run free and wild. Career Survival mode
Career mode focuses on progression and an overarching plot of starting your own search and rescue service from humble beginnings and building it up to cover the entire Stormworks world map. You will have to manage your finances, build space, and your own safety as you complete various missions to finance larger, more complex vehicles and new land bases.
Survival difficulty options
Survival difficulty options add an extra level of difficulty to your search and rescue operation with the most in depth and advanced game features including: advanced engine and fuel mechanics, LUA based micro controllers, vehicle damage, spreadable fire, and a variety of player damage types that can result in player deaths including:
fall / impact damage
fire damage
prolonged exposure to the sea resulting in hypothermia
mechanical damage (rotor blades)
water pressure damage

Construct vehicles by placing blocks in a rich editing suite, customize them with your own design and program their behaviour using the powerful in-game logic system. Choose from a wide array of components to assemble your own rescue helicopters, boats, submersibles and more…
Take to the sea, land or sky in your newly created vehicle. Navigate through over 15,000 square kilometres of ocean and islands in an amazingly dynamic world. Players will need to ensure that they create the right vehicle for the job as every mission is unique.
Design specific vehicles to respond to challenging missions across open oceans, island facilities, remote rigs and more. Rescue survivors from the water, fight fires, help repair oil rigs, operate nuclear power station machinery and more. Create and share your own missions using the rich missions editor. Yeah, I'm feeling that a radar guided AA will be mandatory before taking any AI base.
One of the most important rules of modern warfare:
Never carry out a ground frontal assault in a space where the enemy has air-superiority. Aircraft will always dominate ground targets no matter how powerful your tank is.
If possible, consider combined-arms tactics with other players so that you can secure the air space first before carrying out a frontal assault with armoured units. Ships will be on standby for the deployment of a QRF.
Don’t forget teamwork and cooperation.
Teamwork is key. Without teamwork, there is no victory.
Also that tank is gonna need at least 3 people crewing it (driver, gunner and a loader/MG gunner that can be optional if your gunner is quick)
@@EdyAlbertoMSGT3but this is stormworks... you can operate a nuclear battleship from a single seat. the only thing that applies here is the thing about air superiority
Loved the video @Frantic! I think the tank is either a German Leopard 2A or an Israeli Merkava tank! Both are pretty good at dealing with modern tanks, like what the AI is using in the Weapons DLC! It would've been nice if you had gotten the chance to shoot at or even kill an AI Tank, but I guess that's why you need Air Superiority for that!
The tank is so similar to Chinese ZTZs maybe ZTZ-99

Tanks are pretty much obsolete in stormworks, they are slow moving targets for planes to strafe unfortunatly. The only use I can think of for tanks are for naval guns to put on docks. Unlike normal naval guns, tanks are movable, so if a ship moves to your blind spot, you can just move the tank. I wish there were some kind of penetration mechanic in the dlc. Maybe a mechanic so that you can make normal wedges or blocks to be armored, but said armored blocks will be heavier. So that when we make armor we dont have the ugly texture the weight blocks give.
That is fair, I was hoping that I would be able to do more with them... But its just not going to happen at the moment :(
Frantic maybe take the ground points with the tanks, might be hard due to the points being kind of on islands
@@FranticMatty mabye if you had some kind of towed radar based AA System to keep the aircraft off you?
Tanks are Designed for Open Terrain and A lot of space to move on, Putting the tank on a Long bridge Will result the tank being a soft target for the AI System, The enemy Fighters and Helicopters are Armed with Missiles so the tank won’t survive for long since the Top of the Turret is the Softest armor, But since this is Content It works!
The Tank is Equipped with "APS" or Active Protection System for shooting down incoming Projectiles/RPG Warheads with Soft Kill APS or Hard Kill APS, if you look over to the Buttons you pressed the APS Button. While the Tank is on fire you have a Button to Enable a “Automatic Fire Suppression system" But I’m still not sure if it’s automatic or Manual Press in order to be Turned on.
Imagine if somebody creates a vehicle that fired some rockets like the famous katyusha truck that is so overpowered

I like the look of this tank, looks like a Challenger 2 Hull with a Leopard 2A6 turret with the 20mm autocannon and Russian ERA and even has Composite external plates.
You should do a beach landing with some tanks, or use Shermans like in D-Day.
There’s a few landing craft and there’s a Sherman on the ws

CAS is overpower as well in reality with air superiority, so I would say this is realistic.

CAS is only really effective if you have air superiority and anti air can pretty easily take out a low, slow, and heavy plane, unless said plane has long range air-to-ground missiles ofc
you get SPAA tanks though
You shuld play base defense with tank plane helicopter etc
You should make a modern maus with flak etc
Or the Ratte with 4 quadruple 20mm AA guns on each corner
You need crewmen to play with, so you can have a chance against the ai

I think instead of an armor block and having to replace every block in a creation you should be able to convert a creation to an armored one, increasing weight by 3x. But it is resists most shells

#hint the heavy block is an armor block now the only weapon to be unable to damage are every handheld weapon except c4 and evrey cannon except the machine guns
