My favorite story was John and Katharine Hepburn going to the judge’s house to watch “Paper Moon”. Glad that John got a hold of Anthony Quinn and it was his dream to work with Katharine Hepburn.

I would have rode on a pogo stick from LA to the east coast to watch TV in a house that neither she nor I owned, just for the experiece of meeting Katherine Hepburn. She was such an incredible actress and iconic woman. She was liberated long before it was fashionable, much less "politically popluar' if not "correct" As for 'Paper Moon' it was the best of Ryan O Neill's movies with a great contibution of Tatum who richly deserved that Oscar. She was absolutely hilarious.
Almost all of Burt Reynold's movies during the 70's, 80's and early 90's starred Burt Reynolds. Everything revolved around his character in whatever film he was in. To be in a movie with a star of the caliber of Kathryn Hepburn would have naturally put his billing below hers as well as the focus of the story on her instead. He probably was very reluctant to do so at the time and it wouldn't have won him any awards. It was understandable that he would find something else to do.
Judy, "The Man Upstairs" was meant to be Kate's last movie. She wanted that because she started in 1932, and it would be 60 years. Then Warren Beatty begged her to do the remake of "Love Affair". Then she did the movie with Anthony Quinn. Then she did the last movie which was a supporting role. I did not know she almost had a stroke doing "The Man Upstairs". John said he thought she was beginning dementia. I never heard anything from her biographer of her last years that she had dementia. John said she broke her ankle. Actually it almost severed her foot. They had to re-attach it. She told Dick Cavett she loved driving in Manhattan and out to Connecticut. I was surprised to here that she had so much trouble driving. I do know on the last movie she had to go to Virginia, I think. Then she had a chaffeur. He called her "The Diva". Thank you for having John back.
Hi Judy. When the network wanted to go to series from The Homecoming, did CBS ask for another pilot that included Will Geer, Ralph and Michael to see the chemistry? I had heard The Foundling was the first show aired but not the first show filmed. Can you say why.And in the early run of the show there was a bench seat/Nook/Alcove in the kitchen located just before the back door. Didnt that disappear over time? Lastly, Were you guys told any hairstyle changes or cuts had to be O.K.d by the head honchos And what did all of the young cast members do about Acne? Surely yal must have dealt with it.Thanks Judy.
