For sure one of the best, if not THE best looking 911 ever. Agree 100% about that rear bumper. Perfect marriage of aggression, class and elegance. If James Bond was German and wanted to go fast, this would be his car.
I do think it looks its best in black, with full red rear lights and the original fender intakes (this one's been modified/replaced).
I bought my 2008 GT2 from Merit, in white. And man is it SOOO GOOD !
Forgot to mention that it is a limited production vehicle. Approximately 1200 worldwide and 175 in US. I'm sure there are a few totaled and/or abused, making them even more rare. Also last GT2 ever made, afterward they've only produced 2RS. Last but not least, last manual gearbox. Therefore, this car is projected to climb the value ladder very soon and steep.
Great points and you are exactly right. One of the many reasons we are so passionate about these cars.
Would you happen to know how many 997 2RS’ are in the states?
@@spookybalmains 194 or so. Unknown how many are alive, as there are some to have met their nickname expectation. Very rare to see in the streets.

The GT2 is not a 2 wheel drive turbo, it is a Turbo GT3, and left stock, the turbo lag from 2000rpm gives the car huge personality. Widebody rear drive 997's are not common, in any form.
We don't disagree that the GT2's driving experience is more closely associated with the GT3 but the power delivery is more in line with the Turbo. Thank you for the feedback!
The only time the GT2 was a Turbo GT3 was the 996, every other generation was a RWD Turbo with more power.
@@gunman8452 The 997 GT2 suspension was essentially lifted tweaked and applied to the 997.2 GT3

How come it has the tail lights of a 997.2? The facelift tail lights fit the gt2?
Those seem to be LED aftermarket taillights but in the shape of the gen1. Those are definitely not gen2 shape (gen2 are tapered on the lower inner corner)

Rememebrr seeng this car on a website, some mods to it -> steering wheel, side intakes tune etc. So taillights too probably small fender bender but mighty good looking nevertheless
These are DEPO LED rear lights. An aftermarket option for the Gen1 997's to give the effect of the Gen2.
1:56, why I should consider the GT2? It's the other way round, the GT2 should consider me.
My favorite 911... but the 991 wheel looks out of place with that interior

people won't understand that the 992 turbo S is faster, but it is hugely more boring than the GT2. GT2 is hugely fun and good
I'm sure it's important, but if the first thing you talk about in reviewing the car, is how 'Masculine looking' it is, then you're not the channel I want to get my fast car info from.
