I've never heard the beginning of the 3rd movement played with such melancholy. At first I was a little disappointed, but as it continued, I understood it better. I love Bashmet's commitment to his interpretation, and his unabashedly booming C string. There are so many "destination" cadences on the C string in this piece and he makes sure you know you've arrived.
Well. As I've commented before. From all the disses and jokes about the viola.... three of my younger viola students quite music and blame TwoSet and a great deal of the comment sections. As a teacher of 13 years I then took a break and went through a year of depression. So. We have TwoSet and their following to thank for that.... My inspiration growing up: Yuri Bashmet. Inspiration for kids growing up today: random stuff on the internet. Sometimes legitimate videos. Sometime utter crap. And... often times just two comedian/"musicians" fucking around and not joking about *every instrument equally* . Just singling out the viola.
@@liamnevilleviolist1809 Sorry for my input... but if you took a break from such a soulful instrument and if your students ditched it then I guess your love as well as your students love for the instrument wasn't true at all... I've started practising Viola last year and I am falling in love with it as time passes by.

¿Alguien tiene idea de que cuerdas usa Bashmet?

Brahms viola sonatas are his best chamber works , there i said it and yes it implies that they are better than the violin sonatas . Boom
@@nihilistlemon1995 not much of a burn. They're great...clarinet sonatas. Hahaha. I do love them though
