- Sit back and face the truth of it: Slippy Toad is the most important Star Fox member, whether you love or hate him. The mechanical genius is the inventor of literally every vehicle and weapon used by the team, for one, but this video goes on to explain more specific instances where Slippy has proven himself. Can't help but love the little guy.
There needs to be a Slippy appreciation day.

Not to mention that Slippy is the one who analyzes the bosses HP in 64/64 3D and Assault. If he is put out of commission in a level, you don't know how much HP the boss has.
This is the kind of analysis I needed about Slippy.
Slippy has always been one of my favorite star fox characters as well as falco.

Instead of switching pilots on each mission, I think it would be cool if you could choose between each character and each of them will take different pathways on each Mission. Maybe even go to different planets at a time.
Command kind of did that last part. But I agree that character-specific missions or phases would also be awesome.
Starlink crimson moon dlc kinda did it by making the rest of the star fox crew playable and they have a unique mission and in the final mission the ai for slippy is actually great and he doesn't need help 95% of the time and the funny thing is a different character called Mason got into trouble way more and had to return for repairs instead of slippy
He's a great mechanic but he's doesn't have to cry for help every time

You forgot one other thing Slippy does in Adventures. Giving Fox the disguise ability.
He's quite a beast when he doing combat on the ground in Star Fox Assault.

I actually like him! I have a soft spot for heroes like Slippy, Tails and other genius type heroes that are very important to there perspective franchises.
I remember playing Star Fox 64 in the Fortuna mission and fighting Star Wolf, and out of nowhere Slippy says "I got the last one"! The rarest line in the game IMO!
Funny enough, Adventures and Assault is where I saw Slippy shine the most. He was the guide in adventures, giving you advice. In assault, his analysis of shields and strategy was at his finest. I don't know if I'd call him the most important, vital and irreplaceable maybe. He probably created ROB 64.

However, being the Star Fox Assault professor that I am (bc I beat the game on all three difficulty levels w/ all S flags and all ally medals), when playing multiplayer w/ my family, I played as Falco, and I won 95% of the time. My mother obviously had to play Krystal, but sometimes she played as Slippy. My father played either Fox or Peppy. My brother always played as Wolf. At least once every few months we had a Star Fox Assault tournament. I won every single tournament obviously. So we stopped them. Nowadays, I’m only playing SSBU and watching Survivor starring Jeff Probst. Season 43 premieres September 21st at 8 PM EDT on CBS.

You see Slippy in trouble in a dogfight, you see him as deadweight. I see Slippy in trouble, I see a homie masterfully playing the role of live bait. We are not the same!
If the Star Fox series ever gets a proper continuation, I hope they do something to show that Arwing piloting expertise isn't the only thing that matters.
Give us missions where Slippy enters the fray in a Landmaster or on foot, where he can put his strengths to good use. Maybe missions where he's working on some kind of machine or repair job that ends up saving the team when things are looking grim.
Or hell, give us a game where we can choose who we play as so we can experience their strengths and weaknesses firsthand.
I like how at 3:49 he says “Did you see how well I fought?” After shooting the ground 😂😂

I really appreciate this video. All the members of the team are important and Slippy never deserved the hate he got. (Funny how people tend to forget Falco _also_ needed saving in the first stage of 64, and he doesn't even thank you for it! Unlike Slippy.)
Doesn't Falco say, "I guess I should be thankful." I suppose that doesn't mean he is or that he does thank you, but it's kind of his way of doing it. But thanks for watching and supporting Slippy! 🐸

Something similar regarding a gender voice swap happened with Mega Man, he was voiced by a woman in both Mega Man 8 and Mega Man X4. The voice didn’t fit there either. I don’t know why these companies did that.

I said it before and I'll say it again you have a great personality and you're very animated. I never hated Slippy, he wasnt my favorite character either, but back in 2008 all the ungodly amount of hatred for Slippy (including the dumbass edgelord hatred for Tails at the time) got me by surprise.

Slippy the frog is my favorite star fox character.
He sounded female in the game “star fox 64” which made me think Slippy was a female, but yet Slippy was still male.
I actually never hated Slippy. And after seeing this, I've grown to like him even more.
Sure, Death Battle had him die in the beginning of the Fox McCloud vs Bucky O'Hare fight, but it's his death by Bucky's crew (due to thinking he was a member of the Toad Empire they oppose) that leads to Fox fighting against Bucky. Similarly, Fox blowing out the rabbit's brains was obviously fueled with plenty of hateful fury for his friend's death. He even takes Slippy's robotic legs at the end not in a desecrating manner, but as a way to honor his fallen friend.
I appear to be the only object in existence that has slippy as my favourite character apart from Miyamoto

You know, I just replayed Star Fox 64 for the first in a while and realized something upon finishing a run. Reinforcing what you said about Slippy having better stats that Falco, he actually has a higher score than him on the ranking board as well, placing right below Fox and Peppy. How about that.

I could tolerate Slippy a lot more if he just had a deeper voice. In the SNES he had a deep, toad-like voice. Made sense. So I don't know why they have always made him so high pitched.
I think Assault and the anime short had the most tolerable Slippy voices.

while most of this is true, im pretty sure that the arwings were a development by space dynamics co, having had beltino toad work on them for james and peppy. could be wrong though
You can’t really thank Slippy for the Arwings, since what else would one be expected to use to travel from Planet to Planet across the Lylat System.

You didn't mention this in your video, but Slippy is also reliant on analyzing enemy shields aka their health bars. Which is useful to know where to hit and if they're getting damaged if you're hitting them

Actually in the original star fox it's confirmed slippy didn't make the arwing it was a high end fighter made by general pepper's fighter engineers I can't deny that slippy made the other five vehicles but you have to admit he's annoying.
I think his Assault voice and in the anime short The Battle Begins, his voice isn't too bad. I guess Zero is alright too. But 64 and Adventures are awful.

I frequently do and list my playlists in every video description. It's just nobody cares to dig for it, and often these videos do poorly and get comments like, "When is the next Zelda randomizer".
