Yes, engine oil lubricates trans / clutches as well. I use the semi synthetic castrol 10w40 oil. Love to see comments like this. Thanks for watching and the comment. Let us know if you need anything: www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports
Thank you for the strait forward video. Can you tell me what is behind the primary clutch? I pulled mine apart and there was a broken washer looking thing with big square teeth on the outside of it
Behind the wet centrifugal clutch is a spanner nut with the primary gear behind it. Is that what you are talking about? Behind the clutch basket is a washer and then your main crank bearings. Let me know what you are needing. Thanks for watching.
The clutches I understand how to install, it is all the other parts that go on first that I don't know how to install. I am going to see if I can send this video to show and explain 3:213:27
Awesome instructional videos! I have a Bayou 220 with a clutch issue I might try to tackle on my own thanks to you. It runs perfectly (idle not too high) until you put it in gear, then it immediately engages (and I mean slams into gear) and stalls if you don't give it lots of revs (if you give it enough gas to get it moving and up to speed, it goes through all gears fine). What would you suspect first? Just clutch adjustment or maybe bad centrifugal clutch? Thanks
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports thanks very much for the advice! I will look into the things you mentioned as soon as I am able. I appreciate it! You've got yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the great content!
I was going up a hill dirt road after trail riding. I gave it a lot of pep thinking I was in 4 or 5. After doing so, the engine revs very high and wont engage any gears. Is this potentially clutch? People i know say it is. I'm about to swap a clutch from a used wheeler I have. I own 2 300 byous both the 97+ era. What are the torque specs?
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports do you have a video showing how to adjust the clutch on the 4x4 with the two adjusters? I've been obsessing over your 300 bayou videos for answers on how to do it. Simply there is only one video on youtube and it's for a 2x4 with 1 adjust screw
Just bought one these older model klf220s.in bad shape. Got it running, despite missing many electric components. When engaging the foot gear shift into first gear, the bayou will jump forward slightly hard, and that definitely doesn't feel normal. It seems like I have to give an unusual amount of throttle to get it to go forward. Is there an external or manual clutch mechanism that i should be using when shifting? If so, where's it located? It's missing the neutral/reverse switch and indicator light as well. I'm totally lost on the clutch issue. Great tutorial video btw! Will certainly come in handy if I have to go that far with the repairs.
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports I adjusted the clutch as repair manual instructed. That seemed like a simple process. It's missing the starter circuit relay, neutral/reverse indicator light, neutral/reverse switch. I had to buy starter solenoid, regulator rectifier and a 12 volt battery. For right now, I still can only start it with pull rope with the way the wiring is currently hooked up. I just bought an ohms/volt meter, and going to try and start hunting down any connection problems.
Have a bayou 220 that I bought a caltric centrifugal clutch for. Attempted to put the new one on but it doesn't seem to want to go on all the way. Now it is stuck on there and won't come off!!! Literally pulls the whole 4 wheeler sideways when trying. Any tips or suggestions?
I have a 2002 bayou 220 as I take off something is slipping then as I go forward u can feel it grab and goes better what should I replace to make it normal ?
I have a bayou 220 with the same motor, but my atv wont shift. Its stuck in neutral. I replaced the friction plates with used good ones. But still nothing I've looked over all kind of forums and no one can give me an answer. Do you know what might be wrong?
Yeah, I adjusted it just like in the manual. Clock wise till resistance is felt, then counter clockwise till resistance is felt. The neutral light comes off when I try to shift. But no shifting actually happens.
Just pulled my centrifugal clutch after it blew apart and locked up my engine on my bayou 220. Engine is now free and will be ordering a new centrifugal clutch. Is there anything I need to look for or be aware of before putting the new one back in?
I have a 1989 Bayou 2 wheel drive 300 it is not the new clutches I have a problwm with I can't find a video that shows how to remove ans install all thw othwr parts tgat go on before you install thw primary and secondary clutches that's easy it's all those other smaller parts I'm having a problem with someone else took it apart and I don't know how it goes back together I'm 73 years old and slow so I need to see a video on exactly how to do this
Mid Nebraska Motorsports I’ll pull the cover and clutches tomorrow what should I be looking for? I know it was ran quite a bit over full of oil do you think that could have hurt the clutches?? It’s not making any noise just stuck in gear!! Do you have the clutches and other parts in your eBay store?? Thanks again!!!
Not able to find other video you mention regarding Bayou clutch adjustment.
Great video it made working on my KLF 220-A a lot easier to take apart and fix.
Happy to help Alan. Thanks for watching!!

Is there a way u can tell me how to get the front bevel gear took apart
can I get the torque specs for the clutch parts and cover bolts please?
Can you replace the shift shaft with engine on the frame?
I need to replace my shaft can you maybe make a video on how to do it the easiest way? Please.

why hasnt anything been said to determine if pressure plates are bad or centrifigul clucth is bad
15/16 is actually 24mm, I prefer 15/16, it fits tighter.
Why a centrifugal clutch plus the regular clutch?
