The tunnel is as impressive as the reason why they took that name for it. Wow, I'm not an art guy, but it is a wonderful fact that The Hague named their tunnel after a piece of art.

In civil engineering, a tunnel (or bridge) is also called an artwork or artificial work (kunstwerk in Dutch or ouvrage d'art in French)

Before watching this video, and looking into the tunnel name, I thought:
"Who the f*** named this tunnel like this?"
    But, watching the scenes shown at 1:32, 2:59 & 4:37, I thought:
*"Oh, OK, it's like the person who named the tunnel represented the motto of the local driving mood"*

Yes, these are people celebrating something. Somthing to do with football(soccer) or just an islamic wedding. Or just some Turkish people who found a football in the streets! 🤣

Je zou het niet geloven maar die tunnelnaam bestaat.
You wouldn't believe it but that tunnel's name is real.

You seem to really know your way around Den Haag, is this your hometown? Excellent film, keep up the good work.

There's got to be a good story as to why they named the tunnel, "Victory Boogie Woogie". It sounds like something they would have done in the late 1940s, even though Allied forces bypassed The Netherlands on their way to Germany.

They didn't, a third of the Dutch population was liberated in 1944. Remember Market Garden?
The 'art coefficient' from this tunnel was probably used to buy 'Victory Boogie Woogie' for the municipal museum.

Piet Mondriaan was a Dutch painter. Quite a lot of his works including this one can be seen in het Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

As interesting as the tunnel is, as are those many cars with hazard lights on and those at 2:56 accepting the gray car skip in front of them because he decided turning left here was good.

I understand that it looks like hazzard lights, but it's probably just the LED lights synchronizing with the framerate of the video

No those are definitely hazard lights. That was a Moroccan wedding. They usually drive through the city honking and driving like maniacs. Lots of them are fined luckily

Very fine tunnel to go to the center of The Hague quickly. But 70km/h? 90km/h would suit this road better.

1:33 why did the Black Golf have a red flag, or red cloth

    • @tomsmith5584
      @tomsmith5584 Рік тому +1

I'm not sure about what the rules are in the Netherlands, but in the United States, you have to have a red flag on an object that extends four feet (about one meter) beyond your rear bumper. That is what it looks like here.

It's a Moroccan flag. They were doing stunts on the road.

Likely due to a football match. Football fans (both club and national teams) often drive around town waving flags on the eve of a big match. It can get them into trouble if they are visiting fans and they encroach on some of the local ultras' turf.
