Alaska is so lucky to have you, Patricia. Thanks for sharing your life in Alaska since one day I would love to go back. I've been to Seward Alaska with my Navy ship.
Thank you for this! We are PCSn in a couple of months and I was freaking out. I was hopeful that the hubs would’ve got Germany but Alaska it is lol This video has helped elevate some issues I was having. Thank you! 💞
Yes, Patricia even though I don't know you and your family on a personal level I would want you to be at a safe place that you feel comfortable at. It is the caring in me.😇
@@demily306 if living on base they take out electric, water, trash, rent etc... the only things we pay outside of that is really just cell service, internet, that is really it...
Hello Patrica, have a question I'm into trucks especially vintage vehicles.so when you'll was station in Japan as you know their driving being on the left side therefore your steering wheel on the right when driving a vehicle in Japan have you ever driving a vehicle having right side steering if so any difference or can't tell the difference in driving.😕
bryant whitis never had the chance to drive on the opposite side while in Japan. But driving on the left was a bit hard at first, but adjusted in 2 weeks.
Hi Gorgeous! I agree, if you want to make new friends in a new place you have to get out there and make the effort. I feel like a lot of people hate Yokota because they don't want to "get out there." Also, if you live in Alaska, you really should research what to do if you meet a moose or bear. You never know if one will show up randomly. I have another friend in Alaska and it's not unusual for them to have moose chillin in their yard.
Sustainable Sierra yes! Moose have come onto base! Makes me nervous for sofia when she is outside playing. But yes, you have to get a bit uncomfortable to meet people and find something you like in a new place.
There are misconceptions people have about Alaska. I find that Fairbanks and North pole are not places to go to to watch television; it's mainly for people who are active. The internet has changed everything for the better. Once, Alaska was a very isolated place to be. Now, you can reach anyone anywhere making it easier to keep your sanity. Patricia, don't be surprised if you get offered Japan again, it did happen to people from time to time but Europe is fantastic. I'm glad to see you are really enjoying it there. So many former veterans wished we never left. Just have to know how to live in sub zero weather.
The thing I have come to learn through living such a nomadic lifestyle is that every place is unique in its own way. Alaska definitely intimidated me at the beginning, now I find so many interesting and amazing places! The community here is so kind and welcoming!
@@PVergara 'They' really are. It really makes all the difference versus living in a place you can have the same neighbor for years and never meet them. A friend from alaska tends to be a friend for life.
