Just so you are aware, You should have been disqualified at exactly 7:20. Your trigger was clear of the holster before your hips were turned 90 degrees. Clear 180 break. Any decent CRO would have caught it in a heart beat. I would post a screen shot if i could.
While I can see if he was breaking the 180 that this would be an issue. Hips are only used 1 time in the current rulebook. I don't see anywhere in the rules that talk to hips being turned 90 degrees. When he draws the muzzle is pointing in a safe direction and his body follows around. I hear you, but I can't see it in the video where he broke the 180. And nowhere in the rules does it mention 90 degrees for the hips. But maybe I am looking in the wrong place. But a word search only comes up with one use of the word "hips".
@@josephsmith291 I only used the word hips to convey part of what I was seeing. Let me rephrase. A good way to describe this to a newer shooter is to tell them that the gun needs to be at minimum parallel to the 180 degree plane (usually the back berm) before the trigger is exposed coming out of the holster. If you slow the video down you can see that he is not turned past the 180 before his gun comes out of the holster enough that the trigger is exposed. Unfortunately I have seen several people get DQ’d for this exact thing. I just try to educate people so that they do not make the same mistake at a major match when they have paid hundreds of dollars on match fee and travel.
Look like you’re enjoying yourself out there dude!

Totally disagree with your call. The gun is clearly pointing downrange when the trigger clears the holster. His body position is irrelevant.
