As the awareness for cancer, gender equality & abuse etc are held globally with support from private to government, so as they can to men. Advertisement won't help, even old men are not capable to give support. The country needs a budget for these awarenesses. We building the safe, sane country.
Speaking up when struggling shows strength, not weakness. June is youth month also Men's mental health month. Thanks for this episode🙏 keep them coming!!
If you can’t afford therapy and you want to vent. My best advice is go to a random bus or a park outside your hood and talk to some you don’t know who you will never see again. That helps. Do not take their number
Great EP, hey on the Men Health chat, I believe that as a man there's a lot that is expected from you and you gotta just accept it and man up honestly, because that's how it is. The reality is a man's life is hard and that's to be accepted and live through it , if you're having a bad day, hit the gym not your woman, talking about it might help but doing harder things will reveal to you that whatever it is that you're going through isn't a train smash, shout-out to the The Real Network. P.S I gotta get to that 50k
Gents thank you for keeping it real specially about man's health eye opener indeed The Shady looker Mr W, you just as the same as YFM, and the DJ PH monaco billionaires playground my brother you're on next level over all thank you guys.
hi guys heres an idea, put a poll on the podcast whenever it premieres on whether the audience liked the pod when they started viewing, after 5 times doing that it just becomes routine to like the pod😏
I don't judge suicidal people. Life within the mind becomes too much to bear for them. Nobody truly wants to end their life. They just want the pain and suffering to stop.
"The poes bra and the lekka bra" 😂😂😂😂 You guys are funny! But on the serious side, if I'm down I go for a spa day I don't know what guys can do to feel in a better space but that's what I do.
Oh and I wanted to ask, don't you think watching porn ( not that I'm condoning it) is a way for you guys to figure out what you like both physically and sexually? Just asking for my own curiosity.
The workplace, with its demands and stressors, can contribute to men’s health issues. Some common concerns include: Stress and mental health: Work-related stress, tight deadlines, and excessive workload can lead to anxiety and depression. Men often feel pressure to maintain a facade of strength and may not openly discuss their mental health concerns. Inactive lifestyle: Office jobs often require long hours of sitting, contributing to an inactive lifestyle. Lack of physical activity can lead to various health issues, including obesity and cardiovascular problems. Unhealthy habits: The workplace can be a space in which unhealthy habits such as poor dietary choices, excessive alcohol consumption, and smoking can develop as coping mechanisms to extreme stress and long hours. Men’s Health Forum found that 20% of men don’t make it to the traditional retirement age of 65, with the leading cause of death, including cancer, suicide and cardiovascular disease.
Thank you for delivering gents. Please get woman in tech a microphone, we also wanna hear her inputs, we curious to hear what she's saying. On that 50k prize, can you just split it into 5 or 8 (10k for 5, 6.5k for 8) I think going out and seeing people will help you overcome mental health, be around people who show appreciation towards you. Gym also. Danko. Thina ekasi ngeke sibone iBillboard
It's not cars and clothes for my husband and I. We are just not into material things because they make one poorer. We dont buy jewelry or name brand clothes, so we don't have small debt. We have a home loan to pay, which is already expensive.
There’s still a stigma around men’s mental health, making it more difficult for men and boys to reach out for help. Some men might still feel as if people expect them to hide their emotions and “man up,” or be strong for others. Having or acknowledging a mental health condition is still seen as a sign of weakness or lack of masculinity among some men.
Did you know that suicide affects more men than women? Generally, men are employed in jobs that can be high risk to their health and well-being when things go wrong, such as mining and construction. These factors contribute heavily to men having a shorter life expectancy.
The signs and symptoms of depression, stress, and burnout in men are not always in line with what we traditionally expect. Men are often taught to adhere to masculine stoicism and fear the stigma of being seen as weak. This has resulted in harmful coping mechanisms that negatively impact not only the individual but also those around them. The belief that acknowledging mental health challenges is a weakness often leads men down a path of destructive behaviours. These can include alcohol and substance abuse, reckless sexual behaviours, emotional outbursts, and even violence. Poor mental health among men is also linked to the high rates of gender-based violence The increase in GBV is strongly related to the decline in men’s mental health, exacerbated by factors such as unemployment, job scarcity, and the rising cost of living. For most of history, men were taught to suppress and manage their emotions, leading many to struggle with emotional awareness and processing. This lack of emotional awareness often results in men feeling disconnected and hesitant to seek help from friends, family, or peers, making the journey through mental health challenges extraordinarily lonely and damaging.
Just like taking the car in for an oil change or a service, men also need to take themselves to the doctor’s office to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Also, in 1920, the life expectancy gender gap between men and women was only one year, with females living longer. By 2017, men had been dying approximately five years sooner than women. Men have a higher death rate for most leading causes of death, including heart disease, cancer, diabetes and more.
Men’s Health Month serves as a reminder to get the men who matter to you checked, encourage them to get tested, and make small changes to live a healthier lifestyle that helps to prevent health-related issues. Men who are overworked and chronically stressed are prone to developing high blood pressure.
😭😭😭 you become your mental illness. If you say you’re depressed in a black family, your name will be “Depression”. There’s a video I saw on the clock app that demonstrates/displays the relationship between black parents and their kids. It’s HILARIOUS! Dark but hella funny 😭😭😭
No outlet is better than talking gents. Find someone you trust to help with your landing after speaking up because you will be overwhelmed with many negative emotions so you’ll need someone that will nurture you through them. If you don’t have someone within your network, a psychologist is your best bet. Going to a psychologist or therapist does not mean you are crazy or soft but an amazing first step to recognising the problem and wanting to fix it.
Not gonna lie. This podcast is the next big thing! Been watching since day 1
You far too kind but we like the sound of that 😊 💃
