Hey babe, great video, few questions-
    1. What part of that electrical would be part of getting our video doorbell set up? Could also be some killer future video content, especially to check out anytime a GPU is delivered! I heard a nasty story about UPS drama that would be cool to avoid.
    2. Where’s all the stuff in the garage going to go?
    3. Let’s just move? Thinking about a nice detached garage.
    Love you Red Fox!

If you ever get the opportunity, it’s a solid practice to put your largest current carrying circuits at the closest slots to the line input power for the house - basically not the bottom of your panel but at the top in this case.
The current has to travel down the bus bar to your mining circuits and results in power losses and heat that add up over time - nothing major or necessary but common professional practice.
    Thanks for sharing. :)

Moved my setup into the garage after having rigs throughout the house. Would highly recommend it!

Taking notes for my unfinished basement (the true mark of a crypto miner LOL). Obviously going to get some 240V going and will need some PDUs. Good to see your recommendation, rock on mike!

Well that's one way, i break it down to 120v 1800w per rig with 1800 watt smart plugs that will shut down and save a rig. I was running multi rigs on 240v 60amp as many do. It cost me $800.00 damaged with just 1 bad plug on a hub but three rigs had some damage the breaker didn't save them grrrrrrrrr. So each rig on its own circuit and i run 16 gpu rigs around 78% of 1800 watts, now each rig has its own protection. Saved my ass!

You never said anything about the hardest part: plugging in to the outlets. I don’t understand the plugs you need to get it to a typical UPS

I am not running a mining setup. I am running 5 monitors and 2 very high end gaming rigs. With all that you have. I did not see a UPS( Uninterrupted Power Supply). Based on years of having high end rigs. I was going thru a lot of Power Supplies on my rigs. Finally an electrician told me why. Our power fluctuates. It even has spikes of 10-20 watts. Also, if the power does a flicker or a full off then on, I lose nothing on my rigs. The UPS has surge protection built in and multiple plugins. Now, for a setup like yours. You are going to need a very good one, or several smaller 1500 watt types. I run 2 1500 watts and a smaller 750. The batteries have a life of about 3 yrs, are replaceable from manufacturer and not expensive. If I had your whole setup, I would not even hesitate on this. If the power goes out, it gives you time to either shut everything down nicely or if its a out and on situation, nothing running even knows the difference. Just a thought. Love your insight into your setup. I am getting more and more hyped about doing this. Keep up the great content.

I Have A Grow Tent But It Tends To Get Hot, So I Found A Gym Locker Used On Craigslist 18"x18"x6' And Cut Out A 8" Diameter Hole On Top And A 8" Hole On The Botton Side Of The Locker, Then Put A 8" AC Infinity Fan On Top Coming Out Eventually To The Window For Venting, Put Allthread Through The Locker And Hang The Gpu's And It Seem's To Be Working Pretty Good, At Least better Than The Grow Tent, But To Each Is Their Own. Hope This Helps Anyone.

  • @macgyverx5077

I noticed you are running sense for power metering, how come you are still using localized power meters? I have the exact same setup, But I use the TP-Link Kasa plugs per rig, which shows usage per rig as separate devices in the sense app. As you know its a great way to see what your usage is for the last minute, hour, day, month and per billing cycle. Its even better when you have solar with storage.

I got all my stuff in the garage, but having mixed thoughts on using a grow tent or not. I have 2 of the 8" AC Infinity fans exhausting (was initially using 1) and I tried using a tent but it tends to get too hot so I have them all open air now. The problem is the fans are trying to cool the entire garage instead of a small tent so it got quite hot in there last summer with the 1 fan, but I'm hoping it goes better this summer with 2 of them. It's also easy to heat my house by opening the door without having to unzip a tent so not sure where I'll settle yet. I'm basically out of power there with 50 cards pulling close to 24 amps now, but gonna wait and see how the market is these next few months before buying any more.

I agree with your criticism of the Triplite PDU, but realize it is designed to be mounter vertically in a server rack where it is a) easier to balance the different banks and b) generally each device draws much less power so they need the multitude of outlets.
Do you have a link for the 8+ c13 PDU?

Are you not using 10 3 on your 30amp circuits? I would think (assumes US electric code distribution of 120v instead of the European 240v standard) that having 10 3 would allow the PDUs to deliver switched power (if you had something that was incapable of drawing 240v) because the 3rd conductor can be hooked up as a neutral wire?

A lot of your miners run purple lights. Is there any way to shut these off? Purple is the most energetic color in the visible spectrum. Meaning it requires the largest amount of energy to produce.
