Just cut 5" pieces of garden hose then slit it. Instant soft clamps you can pop over the 1/2" pvc to hold the cloth. Who doesn't have an old leaky garden hose laying around? I like your simple frame. I usually spend a ton and over engineer.
ROFL! Wind lifted mine (which was weighted down) the first year and wedged it between two houses! Worry about the wind for sure. We use 12 inch rebar earth staples to hold it down.
