Yes, those are pictures of them with their mothers. The Lzzy Hale collaboration was released on Mothers Day in the US. The Mongolian lyrics are taken from a 900-year old Mongolian poem by a Mongolian warrior who had to leave home without saying goodbye to his wife. I love the lyrics Lzzy wrote, and her vocal blends so well with their song. Jaya (the band member standing next to Lzzy) taught her a little throat singing, which she uses in the video. It takes years of practice to master. This is the best of the collaborations, in my opinion. I do love both versions of the song. The original with just the Mongolian lyrics is on their first album. Unfortunately there is no video for that version.
The awesome 2 “stringed” instruments are called Morin Khuur (Horse Head Fiddle), the “strings” are actually hair from the tail of a horse, the “Male” (thicker) “string” has 150 hairs, and the “Female” (thinner) “string” has 130 hairs. Traditionally to bind the instrument to the player (and vice versa), the hairs MUST come from the player’s own horse. The bow is held in the German style grip as well, and mostly the Morin Khuur is played while sitting, the HU’s are highly customized and have attachments to allow them to play the Morin Khuur while standing.
I love the Hu because they are just different and honestly Lizzy is a hell of a singer. Great reaction! Another Hu song that is awesome is wolf totem with jacoby shaddix or even same song without jacoby is badass too.
I was lucky and found The Hu when they released their first song at least in the west.. Yuve yuve yu and have followed them since then. You are going to love dipping into their catalog. Great reaction.
These guys are awesome! They have their own yt channel discussing their culture and influences from around the world. They go into their instruments as well. I hear they put on one hell of a show too!
You rock so much! Check out my post on the “Community” tab. 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽 I just love this. Although…I just ruined future reactions because I just binge listened to their last album. Lol. But, new album comes out in June!
Lzzy Hale with Lindsey Stirling is a banger! I can't say enough how fantastic that collaboration is. Lindsey playing violin dancing, Lzzy singing. I would love to see your reaction to "Shatter Me" official video! Please!
Great reaction. Every time I see this video, I am awed all over again by the skill of whoever engineered the video, they are so good that I couldn't tell that Lzzy and Hu recorded their parts separately, it really looks like she is right there with the men. Hu is wonderful, they covered Nothing Else Matters and it is phenomenal.
The Hu are great to start and then you add Lzzy and it jumps to amazing- this is one of my favourite songs- I stumbled here on a Homefree binge and was thrilled to see this one!
So happy to hear that! And happy to see you here. Home Free is just amazing. Lots more from them coming soon…but I’m really enjoying The Hu!! They’re just amazing!
Check out HU - Wolf Totem, original and the one with Jacoby Shaddix (papa roach). And, of course, their Metallica covers. You will not be disappointed.
Ahhhh so glad you found the Hu Band they are awesome. I love the fact that they roam over the Mongolian steps on Harleys, a beautiful fusion of Biker, Metal Rock and Traditional Mongolian Instrumental and throat singing - like a Biker Gang with good Morals lol. The Imagery is astonishing I promise you you have to check them out some more they are crazy Good. as ever a great Reaction. Edit: the song I was referring to is Wolf Totem. I guarantee you will Love it.
random note - don't try throat singing without training unless you enjoy destroying your vocal chords :) That being said The Hu are ... simply amazing throw in Lzzie's vocals and it's gonna be a win :) And just because I just wandered in from listening to them, you might check out Dirty Loops when you get some spare time, worth it just for the bass but they're all quite good
@@musikbyjh When I was a hell of a lot younger than I am now, I got interested in throat singing ... right up until I discovered just how *&^%ing hard it is to do properly. Splitting tones like that ... ye ghods!
I love The Hu, I prefer the original version of their songs though. I feel they had to do these collab versions to break into the north american market (which tends to not like music in foreign languages as much) but honestly I always listen to their original all Mongolian versions. Saw them live as covid restrictions were lifting and it was a really good show. They really showcase their native instraments and the primary members of the band are all claasically trained musicians in Mongolia. Id definitly suggest checking out the original to this song and I still dont have the cash app installed (and am kinda poor for the next few months anyway lol) but would highly recommend Shireg Shireg, Yuve Yuve Yu or Chengis Kahn from their first album (Wolf totem is usually the one reactors react to but imo its not the most interesting song on that album, its got a cool hook though so thats usually why people like it I think)
Thanks so much for watching and the thoughtful comment. I can totally understand what you mean about the originals. I will definitely check out...I'm torn because I know I'll have more reaction requests of The Hu and want to be surprised...but damn, do I want to listen to them NOW!! Ugh, decisions decisions... 😃✌🏽
@@musikbyjh well listening to the original version of the song of woman might be safe :) seeing as youve already heard it to some extent. But most reactors do The wolf totem and maybe Yuve Yuve Yu so you might be safe listening to some of the other songs (though Shireg Shireg and Chengis Khan are my personal favorites) Eta: if you do do The great Chenngis Kahn, little fun fact, the music video uses scenes from a movie made in Mongolia about Chengis Khan in like the 90s or early 2000s and one of the band members was actually an actor in that movie (he was just a boy at the time)
@@bazamere soooo…yeah…I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole. 🐰 Check out my latest post on my community tab. So yeah, I love them. And Chenggis Khan is AWESOME! So, I’ll have to wait until their new album comes out, to do more reactions. I’ve already binged a bunch of songs. Lol 🫠
Hey Scott, Jillian here! 🤩. To Jeremy's defense, I hadn't joined the channel yet. I kept dodging appearing in vids and was happy behind the scenes. Not any more! Honestly, I LOVE The Hu and we've totally jammed to their collection during road trips. Thanks for the comment and hope to see you back, friend!! ❤️🥷

That instrument is called a Horse Head Fiddle. (One of the things I like about The Hu is that they play traditional instruments)

LOVE THIS SONG! Lizzy wails and The Hu are so unique. This was a great surprise, thanks for this reaction. ✌🏻&🩷
Lzzy's SUCH a beast. Her video with Daughtry was INSANE.
I love the Hu because they are just different and honestly Lizzy is a hell of a singer. Great reaction! Another Hu song that is awesome is wolf totem with jacoby shaddix or even same song without jacoby is badass too.
Thank you SO much!! I loved this song, been listening to it as I work. Just badass ✌🏽
My favorite song is "Wolf Totem". The version with Jacoby Shaddix is over the top!
Her voice layered on theirs is so …. Something. Hard to define.

They did a cover of Metallica's Sad but True in Mongolian and their style. Even if you can't understand the lyrics, the video speaks volumes.
Wow, can't wait to hear!! Added to the list, thank you!! ✌🏽
