There was a reason the Hu chose her to write the English part of this song. Her refeverence and ability to honor the feminine is beautiful. Losing my mother at a young age Lzzy Hale's voice and words have propped me up as a young woman and as a vocalist on my own. That strength and power is inspirational to say the least. I can't begin to express my gratitude towards her. Bless you for reviewing this one, it hit me in a different way tonight.
There is a video with the translation of the Mongolian lyrics and they are just as much of a prayer/worship/respect of the power and grace of women. I've lisstened to this song dozens of times and it still brings a tear to my eye. The emotional truth is pure.
You’ll find plenty of content about Halestorm, Lzzy’s band. The track Love Bites is often a favourite for vocal coach reactions on UA-cam. Her grit/growl is always impressive.
They are horsehead fiddles. Morin khuur . 🙂 I have been deeply in love with The Hu since December 2018 when I found their Wolf Totem video on FB. I saw them live at The Soundstage in Baltimore MD September 2019......a very soul-changing event.
I can NEVER listen to this song enough. It’s not only powerful, it’s inspirational and humbles me back to my roots as woman. I only hope my daughters can appreciate this song as much I do. I REALLY feel this every single time I hear it. 💕✨
Just a comment on the drum rhythms. As in most Mongolian music it echoes horses in motion. This one is also the human heartbeat which is so prevalent in Native American drumming.
Yeah, I've noticed that they often have several 'elements' (or instances) where they seem to 'imitate' a horse...I've especially noticed it when they do it on their stringed instruments though. But when you pointed it out I can clearly hear it from the drumming as well.
Geebz! Besides the fact that I completely dig your videos and your views on music, I just HAVE to mention that it's wonderful what you do for hospitalized children! BIG round of applause! 🤘
This channel is making me listen to music again. But I mean properly, not as background noise. This track is a big favorite of mine. Tool, huge favorites of mine. I can go on. And I am listening to them all like it is new again. Love it.
Couldnt wait for the whole video to comment.. Can't love this enough! Lzzy Hale is awesome and the sound of this band combined is perfect. I had chicken skin as well.
They were classically trained at the Mongolian Music and Dance Conservatory and one of them taught for 10 years. That is why the amazing sounds. Also... The drums reflect the hoofbeats of the horses that Mongolians are known for.
The Hu has recently published a wonderful new song, Beautiful Nature if I remember correctly. just as amazing. The more I listen to Song of Women the more emotional I get.
Lzzy Hale and Halestorm are such an underrated band. Her vocals and guitar skills are incredible. And she is amazing live as well. She is an example of pure rock
I love how Metal is just all-encompassing and incorporates so many different genres and sub genres and styles from all over the world. Metal is all inclusive to give ALL a voice!
These grounding vibrations and organic chants with Lzzy's climactic vocals along with the subject matter of the ultimate importance of a woman's roll in life hits me to the core and has awaken my Nordic, Viking roots. Embrace your womanhood...
As ever mate, your breakdowns and observations are always interesting and very welcome. If you're a fan of The Hu, I definitely recommend you check out two other tunes; Sugaan Essena, which they composed in a fictional language for a Star Wars soundtrack, and Krigsgaldr by Heilung, which is a terrific tune by a German-Scandi band who do the same circuits as The Hu, they base all their lyrics on Iron age poems and runic texts from Norse, Anglo-Saxon and Gothic backgrounds. Mind-blowing.
I'm glad you chose to do something by the Hu. Tuvan throat singing is so beautiful and amazing. As an audiophile that's the kind of stuff that gives me those goose bumps you're always talking about. Please more Hu! Check out their non colab stuff!

Wow, thank you for doing this video, I literally just learned about The HU this week and took a deep dive. Halestorm will be a whole new fun ride for you, check out "I miss the misery" and "I like it heavy".
Isn’t it wonderful!! I’ve been doing this since quarantine started and adding bands onto playlists. It’s like there’s not enough hours in the day to keep up with all the wonderful music I didn’t know was out there.
I'm a big fan of both The Hu and Lzzy Hale. I like how you brought up the background vocal Lzzy was adding over the top, most people just talk about her powerful lead lines. In every Halestorm album she always adds some fantastic background stuff.
I love how much you enjoy reacting to different music genres. Please keep doing these reactions, especially during this terrible pandemic which has forced us to isolate ourselves, listening to you talking about music is great company.

Lzzy reminds me of one ☝🏽 of my favorite Singer..Pat Benatar. The Hu Band is Absolutely Incredible Artists...their Song ..Suggan Essena...This is Mongol and the SAME (is Freakin’ Amazing). The SAME does not have a MV but I listen to it all the time because it’s a Definite Vibe. Thanks for posting this and sharing your support and appreciation. The Throat Singing 🎤 is simply Beautiful. Stay Safe and Positive. 🙇🏻♀️🇺🇸🔍🎼🔥🎶👏🏽
Not only is Lzzy's band Halestorm worth listening to for their variety of songs, she also collaborates with a number of artists, like her work with Lindsay Sterling on Shatter Me. Or her work with Amy Lee. Its all worth listening to.
Lzzy Hake from Halestorm. She is amazing. I would recommend familiar taste of poison or I love the misery or I am the fire. Hell, really anything she does honestly.
It is called a Horse Head Fiddle. I love this band's cultural sound. Throat Singing is singing 2 separate notes at the same time. Lzzy Hale and her brother started the band Halestorm and ANYTHING by them is worth a listen. Lzzy learned Throat Singing to do this song! She is by far one of the most talented female guitarist/vocalists of all time. Check out her and David Draimon (Disturbed) doing Close My Eyes Forever!!!
I've listened to this song probably 20x in the last 3 days, so I was thrilled to see your video today. Thanks to you & commentors for introducing me to The HU! I love their whole album. I came here for Tool, way back in "Sober" days. Now I'm expanding my music appreciation & library. Hope you keep having fun so I get to keep hearing your breakdowns. Happy Friday and Aloha!
Lzzy has done many songs with others Corey Marks - Out In The Rain , Amy Lee from Evanescence- Break In, its on a Halestorm album, Lindsey Sterling -Shatter Me, Apocalyptica (they play cellos) Talk To Me ( which they play alot of songs with guest singers Gavin Rossdale, Brent Smith, Lacey Sturm, Corey Taylor, Adam Gontier, Cristina Scabbia she even appeared on CMTs award show with Eric Church Lzzy Hale ROCKS
Great reaction to a fantastic song! New subscriber and I'll be looking through all your vids!!! Every Heartbeat's a woman's song... Best line of any song ever! I may have to get a tattoo with that one now.
For more of Lzzy, check out I Am the Fire live in Rock in Rio, and also her accoustic quarentine version of the same song. Her vocals are unbelievable!
As others have stated, her band is Halestorm. Some songs to check out are I miss the misery, Scream and Amen. There is also a fantastic cover of Gold Dust Woman and Bad Romance. It’s also worth checking out her duet with Eric Church at the CMT awards. You could see people in the crowd were like”Who is this chick?? “ and went to “WHO IS THIS CHICK??!!
Lzzy Hale. one of the strongest female vocalists in rock and metal. really, really really wanna see you dig into "halestorm", the band she and her brother formed. "i get off" was the 1st song i heard from them, and it's still one of my favorites, but other smashes are: i miss the misery, i am the fire, all i wanna do, freak like me, here's to us... and so, so ,so many more! i hope you enjoy this particular rabbit hale.. er, uh, hole... hehe
Kai Tangata is a great track from Alien Weaponry too, and the video is pretty cool. I love that they took the proverbial bull by the horns at such a young age, proving that the youth of the world are still passionate and talented; it makes me happy to know the future of metal music is in the hands of kids who care deeply about keeping it going strong. My son, who wants to start a thrash band, is only a little younger than those boys, and when I found them I was like "see, you don't have to wait to grow up to do what you love! This is my first hearing of this song. Lzzy Hale is a powerhouse! I suggest you give Halestorm a listen as well as the Band DEVILSKIN fronted by Jennie Skullander.
Your enthusiasm for music is just awesome my dude. Your videos are such an excellent way to mellow out at the end of the day. Check out Norupo by Heilung, they have a music video on their channel that gives me full body tingles every time. Rhe male singers do a lot of throat singing as well as a Scandinavian style of gruff almost barking. The female vocalist Maria is one of the most interesting technical singers Ive ever heard. I hope you dig em!
Lzzy Hale is the lead singer and guitarist of Halestorm (fun fact her brother is the drummer for the band and her dad or uncle was the original bassist for the band). i'd highly recommend "I am the Fire" "amen" "I miss the misery" "Freak like me" and "Familiar taste of poison"
Besides a breakdown of just any A Perfect Circle song I would super suggest "Orestes" then either "Magdalena", "The Package", "Pet", or "Feathers", or sweet Jeebus just do them all lol
Halestorm is a recent find for me. I’ve been setting up playlist for them since. I’ve added a little Amy Lee in there too. Two amazing women vocalists.

LZZY is a rock goddess.....I would literally recommend any song from Halestorm.....LZZY also does an amazing cover of Dolly's "I will always love you" Whitney who?
Lzzy Hale is from Halestorm, a group she formed with her brother (the group's drummer) in highschool? I think? Anyway, I like" Love Bites", "I Miss the Misery", "Freak Like Me" and "Shatter Me" (which is a colab she did with fellow UA-camr Linsey Stirling).
oh if you haven't heard Lizzy Hale in her full glory then you should really check out "I miss the misery", "I get off" and/or "Love bites(but so do I)" by her band Halestorm. she has got a voice that's up there with Grace Slick, Ann Wilson and Amy Lee, something not a lot of women can achieve. The HU themselves are just amazing though, i love the way they break through the cultural boundaries while staying true to their roots! if you want to see another really great Mongolian throat singer check out Batzorig Vaanchig.
The song Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling feat. Lizzy Hale is one of my favorites. You should be able to find both a official video and a live akustik-ish version.
The band is amazing, the vocalist has great pipes and blends really well with them. More indigenous music is needed. Just for fun try some “Snotty Nosed Rez Kids,” from Kitamaat, in British Columbia. They’re a rap/hip hop/Indigenous duo worth listening to.
One point that all reactors to the Hu seem to miss is the incredible percussion output from the regular drummer and the guy playing the big kettle drums. I saw them live recently and felt like the drums could save someone in cardiac arrest! Good reaction overall. I like that you analyze each piece as a whole instead of just the vocals.
Awesome! You should check Sleepytime Gorilla Museum! Lots of homemade instruments and really unorthodox rhytmic/harmonic passages! I guess you're gonna enjoy their freshness!
Thank you for helping me with the correct annunciation of the band! Everyone have a HAPPY ALOHA FRIDAY!!!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙
TGIF! also RIP to the LoG vid :(
Hey man you should listen to Gojira - Born For One Thing!
Hi, I don't find your reaction to Heilung. Where is?
Lzzy, along with Halestorm, does a version of Girl Crush that beautifully showcases her vocals. 💜
This song is a tribute. It is a prayer. It is a thank you. It is a gift.
descripton of a woman is incredibly spot on my opinion:
As a man. I 100% agree.
Mother of 8 girls and 1 very special boy I shared with all my daughters Great Song!!
I agree. As a man....we all have a mother, as well as a father - and both is of course equally needed! Can't have one without the other...Yin & Yang!

@@scray00 I'm sorry you're going through all of that!! I hope things get better for you soon. Since the concert we are going to is in December, I just keep praying for good weather and no cancellations.
The Hu is a unique and professional at best!
LZZY is a rock goddess.....I would literally recommend any song from Halestorm.....LZZY also does an amazing cover of Dolly's "I will always love you" Whitney who?
Lizzy also incredible on Halestorm's cover of Judas Priest - Dissident Aggressor ! Probably one of only a very, very few who can pull that song off.
I got to see her in concert a few years ago, and she sang a cover of an Adele song. Just her singing and playing the piano. She is amazing.
If I may offer a suggestion:
Amy Lee “Speak to Me” is incredible.
The song Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling feat. Lizzy Hale is one of my favorites. You should be able to find both a official video and a live akustik-ish version.
Love your reaction and greetings from MOngolia
Dear daughter from Halestorm is one of my favorites svorites
The band is amazing, the vocalist has great pipes and blends really well with them. More indigenous music is needed. Just for fun try some “Snotty Nosed Rez Kids,” from Kitamaat, in British Columbia. They’re a rap/hip hop/Indigenous duo worth listening to.
Thank you
Wow this song was beautiful
One point that all reactors to the Hu seem to miss is the incredible percussion output from the regular drummer and the guy playing the big kettle drums. I saw them live recently and felt like the drums could save someone in cardiac arrest! Good reaction overall. I like that you analyze each piece as a whole instead of just the vocals.
Great reaction 👍❤️
Awesome! You should check Sleepytime Gorilla Museum! Lots of homemade instruments and really unorthodox rhytmic/harmonic passages! I guess you're gonna enjoy their freshness!
Lzzy Hale from the band halestorm. I love the band
