I truly enjoy watching Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes and David Burke as Dr. Watson. Not only for the incredible acting and mystery that they solve. It is for the cinematography, the architecture and the period fashion of the era, as well. Thank you for posting. Happy New Year 2020.

I am so glad I found this channel. I would much rather watch Jeremy Brett and Sherlock Holmes films than the relentless torture-driven violence of today's so-called mystery films. Thank you to the HardBoiledDetective.

Dr. Watson is never without "tired of your shit, Holmes, but I love you so I'm staying" moments. Lol. I love him. Love their friendship.

Watson loves the action and mystery that having Holmes as a friend and flatmate brings. The good much outweighs the bad. He can put up with his dark moods and rude comments to tag along on his adventures. Watson is actually pretty brave and comes in handy in a lot of these adventures. My favorite moments in this series are definitely when Holmes is in a good mood. Like when he and Watson have lunch and go to see that violinist in the Red Headed League.

Agreed. She really did a terrific job in this episode. You can see how Mr. Rucastle makes her skin crawl but she can't really express it to Holmes and Watson due to the politeness and overly proper manners of the time.

I adore Jeremy Brett. A truly brilliant portrayal of Holmes. David Burke was the best Watson, and Edward Hardwicke who replaced in from Series 3 was not too bad. Out of the three, only David Burke is alive now in January 2020.

Aya ppl , my dad read all the Sherlock Holmes books, he liked Basil ,Rathbone when he was younger. His generation 😁, however when he saw the ITV adaptation with Jeremy Brett he said it was the best he had seen, Brett was the nearest Holmes to the books. I became so convinced I read read a few of the books. My dad was absolutely right 😊

Jeremy Brett was the ultimate Sherlock Holmes. His heart was enlarged from Rheumatic fever and he took lithium for bi-polar disorder and smoked 60 a day! He recorded 41 episodes, towards the end in failing health. He died aged 61 soon after. We are in his debt.

You enjoyed him in his role as Sherlock ? Then that's all that matters, nothing else!
Damn the stupidity, 2019 and still the bs?

Oh Holmes, you'd just love it if another Moriarty rose up, hurt numerous people, and tried to take your life. God forbid you get bored by all the petty extortion rackets... :-3 ... oh my dear Holmes, how needy you are! lol

Holmes comment Crime is common Lodgic is rare . Even in those times some knew . There is nothing common about sense. You even have Lodjic and danceable ways or you don't. The Author knew it. And has been gone from this life for decades. Very intelagent and much wisdom. You don't have to go to College or University to be Wise. Never over or underestimate anyone because they do or do not have a Diploma on the wall....

If you you think it was just fall back on the quality acting, something television of today has lost forever, especially the horrible BBC Mrs Hudson would be a one legged lesbian if it was left to them.
