Having the same issues with a manitowoc u140a under counter harvesting is taking long and the safety 2 is flashing on the board I cleaned the ice machine it did make ice but harvest time was still long
@garygordon37 good day i has a indigo NXT manitowoc ice machine it drop ice then going into long harvest then after turning in off and on it makes ice then drop then start the second cycle after freezing then it goes into long cycle. i replace the ice thickness probe then, the board and the problem still exist i also check the curtain switch and its ok, . As i say after turning it off the on after the first ice drop, the second time around after the freeze cycle it goes into long harvest
I got a compressor I believe burnt out, checked pressures and they are equal, no movement. Compressor sounds gnarly and it starts to get really hot. Hi pressure line isn't getting hot whatsoever. I'm trying to find out the cause as to why the compressor has failed, there was a company here a couple years ago from the notes that replaced the compressor once already I dont know if I should replace the txv as well.. I don't wanna get a new one in and the same problem pops up down the road. I'm going to flush all the lines with rx11 and put another drier in line to pick up any extra acids in the system. Any pointers?

Do you think there's a chance you may have just been slightly low on refrigerant? Because you were low on both sides.... And when you adjusted the valve your pressures did change... I'm just wondering if you didn't have enough refrigerant. It ran a long time before on that old valve and it was set at that pressure before for all those years... But I have seen those valves go bad especially when the units off and water still running down the drain
At first I was thinking low charge but my suction pressure was really good and my sheet of ice was even right across so I didn’t go that route. When I got there, the unit was off and there was water going down the drain so that also pointed me in the direction of a bad regulating valve
what if my freezing time is too long? harvest time is ok, but freeze time getting around 40-50min instead of 20-25mins, after 25min im gonna manually switch to harvest and its going well, but if i dont manually switch to harvest it gonna be overfreezed. can you help me?

If I had low head the issue could be a low charge, a restriction (potentially the TXV) or an inefficient compressor. Would need to see the suction pressure to make a more accurate assessment
Got one 100 psi suction , 200 high side , had bad water level probe machine had been running without water compressor cool to touch and liquid line not hot ? Compressor??
Is the curtain on correctly, water probes hooked up, water in the trough etc. Too many things could go wrong, the led’s on the board should point you in The right direction
Thank you for this water cooled ice machine troubleshooter. Quick question: I changed one of these valves several years ago and i think if you are changing the water valve, you do NOT have to recover the refrigerant right? I totally forgot.

Replace filters and deep vacuum. It’s rare I change the TXV

So mine is not making ice. water and parts clean new pump/ice sensor/water valve/water probe was replaced. Evap never getting cold enough to make ice.
By chance do you have a good place that I can find manuals before call manitowoc?
Partstown will have some and on Manitowoc’s site they will have all the service manuals.

All i did was Cleaned a machine like this and now it's not producing ice. You got any suggestions on why it would not work afterwards
It's a about a 2005 model

Yes, it is connected to the Condensor and based on the pressure in th Condensor, it tells the PRV how much to open/close.
