Lovely to see real working dogs in the field. Thanks for posting, really enjoyed it👍🐾🐾
Thanks for watching and following along! Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Just tuned in today to this video, as it popped up o my list; Fantastic footage and story line! That's great that you can pull in a camper to where you can hunt and camp in the same area! And to be able to go with your buddies is the absolute best! Kind of a "warm-up" to deer camp, I Imagine! Thanks for making the video; this "old timer" appreciates it! ~Lou
Its part of the whole experience! Thanks for watching.
20 gauge, English-style, side-by-side! I couldn't tell if it was single or double triggers. No matter. This brings back a lot of memories. Best and many hits.
It's a double. Thanks for watching, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Great shot on that first bird and an even better retrieve.
Thanks for following along 👍🏻
I thought we were the only ones with some real crappy bush to hunt in , but that’s where the ruffys are. Thanks for the video
Gotta go where the birds are! Thanks for following along - hope you had a good season, good luck in 2022!
Great hunt, dog and camera work! Thanks for sharing!!
I appreciate that! Thanks for following along!
wait..what is that long tailed dog doing here 😂😂🤣 this is great stuff, sir. well done
Making beautiful memories
Great job! I’ve been watching some of your vids today. So great to see younger guys so passionate about upland hunting, dog training and good dog work. Love how you work the woods and the dogs. Giving the younger dogs patience and praise. Wish I was further north in NH or ME to get into more birds like you get in the north woods of MI. Thanks for bringing us along. Good work promoting responsible upland hunting. 👍🏻
Shity dog work, he keeps telling that woe. There by giving way his position. That dog should point. That what a pointer suppose to do, and he keeps graving at birds. What if you wanted to mount one of those birds all you get is a pile shit and Fethers?
Your right training a lot time and Pactions to get it right. ua-cam.com/video/HTkgN-W7CwA/v-deo.html
@@horizanadventures Way to encourage a younger enthusiastic hunter and dog owner. 1/2 full brother, 1/2 full! Have a better day than you were having when you wrote this comment!
@@darendth8594 Its good to encourage them. Its also good to teach to train them right.
@@horizanadventures shitty dog work? I don’t know, I’d run my dogs any day against that short hair you’re basically beating to stand still in your videos.
I just came across your channel. Very cool video and dog work! My Brittany is seven months old and having a great puppy season in northern Maine so far. My first bird dog so him and I are learning together!
That's awesome to hear man! Good luck to you and your Britt the rest of the season, you guys are going to be having a lot more fun over the next few years. Thanks for following along!
I just found this currently in MI waiting for next weekends opener. My English springer Spaniel Bert is biting at the bit😊. Is the one dog a Brittany im assuming? I love the content. Getting me fired up
I love the tree trimming to get that woodcock down! 😂
Desperate times call for desperate measures!
Great group of dogs and great guys to hunt with
Hell yeah man! Looking forward to next year.
Do ''Dead bird" is an order that Amber was trained with? She seems to fetch naturally ? Is it more difficult in dense wood or in open fields? Brittany seems to work close to his mater than other breeds.
Where I live you can shoot that many in a few hours
Great video. Hoping to bring my own Brittany up to northern Michigan this fall sometime in October as well.
Really enjoy your videos and the dog work. Looking forward to your 2022 videos.👍👍👍
Appreciate that a lot Gary - thanks for following along! More videos coming in 2022. Still have a few from last season coming over the next few weeks.
Excellent. We have two Britannys...best partridge ,as we call grouse in Maine, dogs on the planet. Thanks so much for the video.
Thanks for watching and following along! Good luck the rest of the year!!
What chokes are best for hunting Ruff Grouse and Woodcock with a 20GA in that terrain?
WOW!!! that was your ""one Ina million"" with that bird hanging on the branch!!!
I've heard of it happening before, but never seen it myself!
Another great video and great dog work
Thanks man!
Excellent Content and Gotta Luv Them Bird DOGS 🐶 !!!!!
Amen to that!
Very good dog work! Can’t wait till my dog polishes her points, she’s still busting but she’s having a ball. Cheers!
Thank you! Keep running her into birds and she'll get it figured out!
Great work by those dogs and great shooting by the camera man.
Thanks Richard!

Dang it man, I have heard that. Habitat is everything. Keep fighting.
Awesome video. Just got my first Grouse yesterday which is awesome. Was wondering what loads you shoot?
Thats awesome dude - congrats! I shoot 7.5's this time of year. Nothing special, just any game/target load I find.
great looking dogs. What gps setup are you using? garmin watch and transmitter?
Thank you! I run the Garmin Instinct watch paired to my GPS handheld and tracking collar. All Garmin.
Beautiful dog work and good shooting
Thanks Rob!
Do you use a 20 or 12 for most of your upland hunting?
good fun in the woods and good dogs.
We try and have a good time! Thanks George!
What dog gps collar are you using? Nice dogs and nice video. Thanks for sharing and happy hunting
Garmin Astro 430 handheld paired with Garmin T5 Mini collars.
@@UplanderLifestyle thank you
What chokes and loads do you use in your 20 gauge SxS?
Barrel 1 is an IC and Barrel 2 is a Mod. Ive been shooting 7.5's this time of year.
@@UplanderLifestyle Stevens 311? I have a series H in 20ga with the same chokes in 28” barrels. Swings well for spot and instinctive shooting. Couldn’t imagine taking it in thicker cover with the longer barrels though.
Awesome young fellas 👍 got a few ruffed last week. Rain for 2 days then out again 72+ 🍁 Manitoba hunter expat ps:: great dogs
We've had some rain here as well as of late. Good luck rest of the season and thanks for following along!
Do you train your own dogs or what? I'm impressed.
I truly appreciate that! Yes I do train my own dogs.
@@UplanderLifestyle have a favorite training book or name a method?
I’m honored to be thee 1000th subscriber
Honored to have you here following along Blake - thank you!
Are you guys hunting in the U.P
Just curious as to why the bells are on the dogs necks?they don't use them in my part of the world
The bell gives you a play by play real time of what the dog is doing and how its working a bird when it cant be seen in heavy cover. The bell is situational, I don't always use it. When we hunt in the thick grouse woods, it helps keep track of the dog and how its working a bird if it makes contact. If we're in open prairies I don't run a bell because I can see the dog with my own eyes.
@@UplanderLifestyle righto thanks👍
I wish u colud bering me on my first hunt
Do you guys use the carry maps with the cuts and succession?

Uplander what size ammo you guys used in this video and what kind of choke tubes. Thank you
