I first heard Ghost Riders on my mother's 78 record, yes this was over 5 decades ago. It was sung by Johnny Cash. Then I heard a husky voiced female piano player sing it on Mackinaw Island in the early 1980's. I will never forget her, she saw me walk in and would dedicate the song to me. Thanks to you, I too will never ever think of this song the same way again. 🤣🤣🤣
This is one awesome parody! Leroy Troy is a genius. Few people realize how hard it is to write a good comedic song. Leroy knocked this one out of the park. I played it Atlanta last spring for a crowd who just fell apart with laughter. They had never heard it before, so I got a chance to do a little promo for Leroy. I hope to see him perform someday as I live up the road in Bowling Green.

I thought Marty was gonna have an accident but none of them skipped or soured any notes! It had to take a lot of facial muscle skill for LeRoy to keep such a straight face while everybody else there was splitting their sides!!
My dad played banjo like Leroy Troy. Here in Tennessee we call it "Mountain Banjo". This is hilarious! It takes some skill to change the lyrics of a song and have them fit so well. Makes me think of all the other talented country singing parodists whom I appreciate greatly. Leroy Troy is another great one.
One thing I hadn't thought about because it seemed so normal to me. In this day and age, it's not something to take for granted. The cross and 2 American flags in the background. Thank you Marty Stuart.
The guy on bass makes this, the way he tries not to laugh & crease up. I bet he can't go to KFC without at least one laugh, I know I can't after watching this. Last time I went through the local drive through, johnny Cash, singing "Ghost Riders In The Sky"started playing on the radio, and I cracked up so much, I whacked the door mirror on the serving hatch because the tears in my eyes affected my vision so much! Everyone in the car looked at me in disbelief, wondering what was so funny. I just couldn't believe the coincidence of the song being played exactly at that moment. 🤣🤣🤣😎😎😎
Troy was my neighbor and good friend in Goodlettsville Tennessee for 10 years. Talented funny and what you see here is exactly what he is just a good old country boy.
All those people are professionals and talented...you can just tell that they are having fun with Leroy...they put a great show.... God bless them all...
1st time i heard this I was laughing my ass off ,! How could Marty and his band still play ,,, when laughing,,, lol God Bless from northern Ireland UK,,
laugh man it's the only thing that we are allowed to do. 86 yrs old, sick as a dog and nowhere to go but down. laugh man, it's the only thing left that you can do on your own. dont need anyone to help you to laugh. eat, piss, shit etc, but not to laugh LAUGH and you will be happy!!
This is awesome. I am watching on my laptop, My wife is watching a movie on TV and keeps looking at me wondering why my feet are going to the music i am laughing. Seeing Marty Stuart genuinely splitting a gut laughing is hilarious.
Use to listen to country songs like grandma's feather bed BUT this one is too country indeed......and....I enjoyed it very much ....probably I should try playing with my guitar....TQVM... Bro ....LUMUT MALAYSIA
oh yes i have a feeling working on that show gave people lots of laughs this song sounds like Homer and Jethro and he almost made Kenny smile wonder if they ever eat at KFC anymore
The poor bass player 😂 This is a wonderful song lol. I remember when I first heard it maybe five years ago. I was cracking up so hard cause my dad always played Ghost Riders in the Sky, so I was familiar with that one. I just now was looking through one of our music books and found Ghost Riders, and of course I had to come find this again 😂
I have watched this vid hundreds of times and the guy standing in the background with the base (guitar or fiddle) his facial expressions always cracked me up
I Do...Ever since I discovered it. When I was a kid about 9, I stayed a week at my uncle's house who had a wind up record player. One of the few records he had (an old 78) was the original version of 'Ghost Riders in the Sky, which I soon knew by heart. However, this is a really funny version of it....wonder what the original writer would think? (I am now 81)
I love how while the rest of the band is losing it, Kenny Vaughan keeps a straight face until "And they ate him with coleslaw." Even off camera, you can tell he finally cracked up.
"They cooked him extra crispy, and they ate him with Cold Slaw." Made my morning. Thanx!
I love LeRoy Troy. Everybody laughing their butts off, but LeRoy standing there like he was at a funeral, even while crowing like rooster.
You know this band has talent when the band can't keep a straight face but still play it perfectly
Right! 🤣
Yup!
You are right . They can't keep a straight face, but they still playing it perfectly...
Leroy spit on himself caw cawing.. Too funny. Watch him wipe his eye..
@@marquesalf3527
Never heard of Leroy, but that was pretty hilarious. Especially watching the bass player trying to keep from laughing. Well done 😂
whenever i feel a bit down , this is my first go to ! !
I'll never hear Ghost Riders In The Sky the same way ever again...thank you. I loved it.
Whenever I need an uplift, play this.

@@TheLittlered1961 I remember the Johnny Cash version.

Hello from Edmonton!
Think I will do the same at my little shows around the DMV.. was thinking similar then just saw your comment.
He's definitely an exceptionally talented musician for sure
Guys, HERE is Our TRUE Savior
YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified for our sins, NOT jesus, and “HERE IS THE PROOF”
From the Ancient Semitic Scroll:
"Yad He Vav He" is what Moses wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3)
Ancient Semitic Direct Translation
Yad - "Behold The Hand"
He - "Behold the Breath"
Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
Very few can pull it off; this is just perfection.
It really shows the skill of these musicians to be pissing themselves laughing and not miss a note.
NONE OF THEM HIT a NOTE !
@sam zuriel Opinions vary !
Love the bassist
I thought Marty was gonna have an accident but none of them skipped or soured any notes! It had to take a lot of facial muscle skill for LeRoy to keep such a straight face while everybody else there was splitting their sides!!
probably prerecorded
I cried with laughter as I was listening to this masterpiece, it just blew me away the way it was executed by Leroy.
Laughter combined with good music is good medicine , I'm healed.
O
😂😢😮😅
Milagro ... ... !!!

😊😃I’m very pleased to know I’m not the only one that loves the song but when last did you play it.
This is just hilarious!!! This is why I miss shows like He Haw!!! Incredible musicians and jut ridiculous humor!!
Anytime I need a good laugh I go back to this. If you can watch this and not at least smile then you better check your pulse.
I didn't smile
Like for real
Not even a little
Penney....if one does NOT laugh then you are already 6 down..🤣😂🤘🙃
2022 still funny.
It is a great thing when you can poke fun at your own genre and have a great time doing it ! Priceless stuff !
Two days later and I'm still repeat playing this.
About the happiest song I've heard in 10 years
Why have I never heard of this or Leroy Troy?????? How have I lived without this song??????
That is real country music no matter that it's a parody!
With all the discord in this country these days, this is needed!
One thing I hadn't thought about because it seemed so normal to me. In this day and age, it's not something to take for granted. The cross and 2 American flags in the background. Thank you Marty Stuart.
The flags are for patriotism, the cross is for pissing on.
I don't care whatever anybody else says that's hilarious right there
All the vegans' n' vegetarians be right happy 'bout this - them pore ol' chickens gettin' revenge !!
Now that’s funny!
hahaha
Amen.
Amen!
I warch this often and it cracks me up every time, it should be played at every funeral!
the best part is that the whole band is losing their minds laughing
And the singer is dead panning it!
The whole band, except for the electric guitar player.
@@AbuMaia01 he’s deaf, be nice
The bass player is losing his mind
The folks who voted this down...they just can't handle sophisticated humor.
probably got voted down for not giving sean morey credit for being the writer and original performer
Tubetopfan1
I thought this was sarcastic and funny great Revenge for the chickens
Tubetopfan1, this is about as "sophisticated" as Miracle Whip. But...it is very funny!
This is just too sophisticated for us down under.. love from Australia.. there through thick and thin our brothers in arms

Did you see where he spit on himself when he was Ca Caaing? He wiped spit off his eye.
I love how Marty is trying to keep his composure and still play meanwhile the guy playing the upright bass in the background is just dying laughing 🤣
I absolutely love this. I laughed so hard I watched it over and over. He sounds just like the rooster in our neighbors yard.
I discovered this just last night and have played it at least 20 times.....and sent it to others.
I've never heard this before and I grew up listening to old country. I love it!!
1st time i heard this I was laughing my ass off ,! How could Marty and his band still play ,,, when laughing,,, lol God Bless from northern Ireland UK,,
I love Leroy's dead chicken song.you go Leroy
Just one word, FANTASTIC !!!!!!
With out a doubt he is one of the greatest.
Rolling on the ground after this one- pure genius!
Glad I stumbled into this classic! I don't laugh much any more but this had the tears flowing! Super funny.
Andre, look for things that make you laugh. I often forget what a good feeling it is. And oh so important.
laugh man it's the only thing that we are allowed to do.

This is my all time happy song, thanks Leroy and Marty's band, brilliant!
No matter how many times I watch this video it cracks me up everytime and I love Marty Stuart's reaction to it as well
The ONLY one to keep a straight face is the guy to the left on the guitar.
This is pure country comedy at its best !! I want it saved to my songs !
*PETA* has left the building
GOOD AND STAY THERE YA RUNT
why do you say that? This song is about the chicken's getting their revenge, weren't you paying attention?

I love the way that all of the band were laughing, but still carried on playing!
My late husband would be laughing his head off, I loved this sort of music.

Damn I love that music. That to me is real music.
Can`t stop laughing, no matter how often I watch this.
i'm 68 years old and todays young folks don't have a clue of what fun is ! just watch the bass player !
The guitar player ain't too sure though!
Why don't they have stuff like this on TV any more? Smothers Brothers were great too! Carol Burnett, He Haw, heck even Sonny and Cher.
Great harmony!
the bass players face was priceless haha
Agree with that.
oh yes i have a feeling working on that show gave people lots of laughs this song sounds like Homer and Jethro and he almost made Kenny smile wonder if they ever eat at KFC anymore
the look on Kennys face is priceless he is looking like You Have To Be Kidding Me
Nothing but good clean humor. America needs that today.
Nooo
When I showed this video to my sister she laughed so hard that you could hear it from the other state of my house.
I couldn't help but LMAO at the bass player but the guy picking the Teley kept a straight face the whole time !!! This is priceless !!!😂😂😂😂
Up until the end watch
He just had chcken for lunch and wasn't hungry!
Fantastic. Thanks for putting some smiles on our faces.

absolutely brilliant - laugh every time I watch this
Where has this been all my life!
Hello how are you doing……?
OMG, I'm wiping tears of laughter out of my eyes. :) Best satire/parody i've seen a loooong time.
Great version - and that guitar has a lovely tone as well!
This song is brilliant. It can release a lot of stress and forget about Coup.

Fun stuff & dadgum funny!! Makes me homesick for Tennessee....where folks have lots of talent and humor to share!!
I see the bass player didn`t last ten seconds before cracking up, absolute, 100% Grade A. A classic song.
He was probably remembering the rehearsal
creative !!!!
Marty couldn't hold it together, either.
