Thanks for making this!! I need to do that. I also heard bugs get in there that cause the black soot.
I am so glad you found this helpful. Mine was pretty bad and it was very worth doing. Thank you for watching! ~Shanna
That is fantastic information. Thank you
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
You need to adjust your air intake
The flame needs to be blue
Thank for watching! Yes, I agree. We eventually did get the air mixture corrected.
What causes that soot ?
Incorrect fuel to air mixture makes the fuel not cleanly burn and the soot is the evidence/byproduct of this. The sliding vents on the front adjusted so the flame fires a nice solid blue gives me the cleanest burn and way less soot. Thank you for watching! ~Shanna
@@airstream_wheeler - is this only on an Airstream ? I don’t recognize any of this for mine …
It can be a problem for any propane water heater. Is yours propane or electric? If you don’t have any soot, then I would say yours is burning a lot better than mine. It isn’t specific to Airstreams because airstream doesn’t manufacture this part. My water heater is made by Atwood. ~Shanna
@@airstream_wheeler Mine is both ... I've never seen nor heard of this ...
