Flash was sold with the intent for it to be copied hundreds or thousands or many thousands of times. Original artists were mostly paid for their work. They were sold with the artists name attached and even selected by clients with the name in picture. Putting something on Instagram and advertising your artistry and competency in tattooing to get new clients and having someone then take it and do badly is really adding insult to injury.
As an artist “not a tattoo artist “ I’ve had people literally just hand me something and tell me to straight up copy it. I try to tell them no and convince them to change it up just even a little bit and they basically get all angry and scream about they are paying for it so it doesn’t matter. The one I straight up walked away from was a smoke shop that wanted to basically steal another stores exact layout and even name in another state. I reached out to the original shop and they were not associated at all. I straight up refused and walked away. $5,000 job. Was not worth the crap. They hired someone else and the store ended up getting closed and in a legal battle. It was hella messy. The artist that did it got black listed. They moved to a different state to try again. Just up and crazy.

Haring is definitely an influence on his work, but the way Mambo uses colors offset from the outlines is a significant departure.
@@kickflop21 I've been trying to get all of the Alien Workshop skateboards they released of Keith Harings art on boards. I wasn't trying to dimension Mambos work, I'm just pointing out the similarities in case people haven't heard of Keith. Thank you for the response 🙏.
@@misfitramone Oh, I didn't think you were, I just wanted to nerd out about some of the differences between two artists I adore. Also, those skate decks are fucking rad, I've been coveting them myself.
@@inked i had one of the boards years ago, but I actually skated it so I still have it it's just not in great condition. But I'm collecting them and have 2 i was able to snag on ebay. I also still have a sticker set that I couldn't bring myself to use, so I'm glad younger me was smart enough not to waste them.
Daww, the ending montage with the little kissy kiss was cute!
So is flash considered copying? Is there a line drawn somewhere?
Flash was sold with the intent for it to be copied hundreds or thousands or many thousands of times. Original artists were mostly paid for their work. They were sold with the artists name attached and even selected by clients with the name in picture.
Putting something on Instagram and advertising your artistry and competency in tattooing to get new clients and having someone then take it and do badly is really adding insult to injury.
Love the production value of these videos. You guys kill it !
That One Girl Has A Hisoka Face Mask 💀
These vids have been so entertaining and the editing is amazing. Thanks for the season and I can't wait to see the next one!
I didn’t know we were gonna get sassy...man those two are great
As an artist “not a tattoo artist “ I’ve had people literally just hand me something and tell me to straight up copy it.
The phrase "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" is actually "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness" and all the copies in this video are definitely that
Love the work editor!! I enjoy it everytime sad is ending but see you next season
Next season is coming soon!
@@inked cheers!!!
