Thank you very much for this review. Re started my bio cube 30 again after huge algae problems. Used Bacter Clean-M Continuum Aquatics. This product is working great after 3 months. The tank looks great. Water looks great. And the fish are healthy. Just cleaning out the filter and added a bag of charcoal. Keeping is simple. Lights are on for 7 hours a day. I did add a few snails. Amazing results. Thank you again!
I just bought this to keep my tank clean as I have a high fish load and feed heavily. I also don’t want to have to run chaeto. Can’t believe how old this video is and how much your videos have changed 👍
Yes I know you wouldn't need this if you took great care of your tank. There are completely natural ways to get rid of algae in your tank. I am suggesting this to the people that feel they have tried everything they can on their own and need a little extra help.
It's very helpful to know what products work, if and when the need should arise. Thank you for sharing your own experience with this product! Looking forward to more vids
Hi! Your videos are easily the best reef videos on UA-cam! Thanks so much! You’ve helped the reef community immensely! May I ask if you still recommend Bacter M? It’s been 4 yrs since this video was published so I was interested in asking whether or not you still love this product or have moved on to something better? Thanks again!
Very very interesting. Usually I would highly suggest to go over the "checklist" and see how and what went wrong. But there are times when you just get fed up and have to pour some in! :P
Hi George , I have chaeto algae in my refugium. Will this product kill macroalgae like chaeto? Thank you for making videos, they have helped me out a lot 👍
This worked really suddenly out of nowhere for me. Been using this for about 2 and half weeks now, the first two weeks it seemed to do absolutely nothing at all, didn't hinder growth or loosen it's grip on my rocks and then just 3 days ago I noticed my hair algae had gone just slightly white, then today it's all white and just disintegrating of the rocks...
Continuum is from Jack Kent the founder of Kent marine so it's no surprise that they have some bad ass products but I've never seen an enzyme product like this offered before. Can wait to try some.
You would have the same results w just weekly maintenance and 10% water change. Been there done that. if u have algae check your RO/DI TDS readings and vacuum sand bed slowly each week
Can someone please tell me how he suction every nasty thing in that little hose?? I'm talking about 2:56. I am about to put this product in my tank, so I wanna know what to do next. I know that won't be immediately after I put this product in there, but I'm still curious.
Very informative video. I don't have a saltwater setup but I still watched the whole thing. I wonder if this would work for freshwater and if it is shrimp safe?
forgot to ask, would this make the protein skimmer go crazy? or do you have to take the skimmer offline during the whole time? grabbed a bottle as my tank is breaking out and i'm trying to get it under control while i wait for the reactor to come in. thanks again man, keep up the good work. PS more sick beats!!!
+CoralFish12g sweet, I dosed it and then like a few minutes later it was gushing all over the floor and almost soaked my electric plug! need to get this tank on point, it's starting to look like a chocolate starfish ha
+CoralFish12g I don't see any instructions about turning off the skimmer either on the bottle or on their website. When you say "turn it off for a little", about how long do you mean?
Interesting. I stopped turning my skimmer off because it wasn't being bothered by the bacter-m. Nothing in the instructions said to turn it off that I could see.
Im really protective of my De-Nitrifying bacteria, will this product wipe them out? I used reef safe medication once and i had one heck of a battle with Nitrates and just got my system stable again. I naturally beat Cyano and im winning with GHA but still have a little and my corals are suffering in low light conditions due to me cutting back light power and photo period. Thanks George
+wombraider091 Hey, I am not positive if it will wipe out ALL of your De-Nitrifying bacteria. I know if you email them they will be very interested in helping you know the answer to that. But over time it will really do the trick on eliminating almost all algae.
Thanks buddy.. but the its nearly gone all be it a few small strands so i just bought some turbos to deal with it.. but i will give them a message anyhow it will be good to know for future!
I am fighting a small dinoflagellate outbreak in my tank. Currently, I am lights out in my reef for 3 days and dosing h202. I have high nitrates due to a bad RODI which I have since addressed. I also have a large refugium underneath the display tank which contains fern caulerpa and chaeto. The 100g tank has rock in it which displaces about 25-30g of water space and the refugium beneath is approx a 40g bay made by eshopps. It's an r 300. Alk is at 7.7, Ca is at 420, Mg is at 1320, PH is at 8.1, Phos reads 0.3, Nitrates are at ~30-50ppm. I did a 30% water change and I put 000 TDS water in the ATO bin. The tank is blacked out with no lights and I am dosing 7ml of peroxide daily. I am wondering if this product, which I just bought and received off of Amazon will work to not only REMOVE dino, but will it help to clear up my tank of other mild brown and green algae's without harming my refugium??? My tank is otherwise pristine, but this recent outbreak has me very concerned because it just showed up one day and I'm panicking. Any advice? Thanks in advance!!
This products works. Dose the heavy dosage every day as instructed and wait a month or so. Might take 3 months but it will clear your tank of algae. I don't know the effect on the refugium.
Its always better to figure out whats causing the algae and prevent it with low po4 and no3 levels through adequate filtration. Otherwise you get dependent on products like this that you shouldnt need.
how do i get rid of coralline algae? i have purple coralline thats gone out of control in my tank and has started covering corals. seriously ive been reefing for 15+ years its definately coralline. i cant find anyone that has a remedy
I would not skip a week, especially if your having success at having no algae. If you have algae then do not skip a week, just add this in addition to that.
I have some weird white things growing on my rocks, they are stony and they crack when I scrape them off my glass. Anyone know what they are, they look terrible!
that's good aslong as they don't starve from lack of algae that's fine, I got snails, an emerald crab, red tux urchin and plan to get feather-duster soon once I get some coral food
So I have a brand new 29 g saltwater tank.. only 1 month old with a coralife t5 ho lunar light system. I have day lights on 5 hours during the day then just the actenic lights on for about 10 hours. I am noticing dark brown algae on my live rock. I knew the algae blooms were coming... is this something I should try to combat with a new tank or let it "run its course?" When I rubbed it with my finger it sort of smelled like iron. I've only been using RO water and adding distilled. Idk if the smell is relevant... just noticed. BTW your videos have been very helpful and informative.
Hi Elizabeth, First, congrats on the new tank. That is how big mine is so I know how it feels. It has only been a month, algae blooms are a very common problem. I would not run the moonlights so long. There should be like 10 hours of complete darkness. Hopefully the tank is away from any natural sunlight hitting it through windows. Not using RO/DI water is a common reason for algae blooms. I may also recommend a uv sterilizer for your tank. Also Bacter M is the best product out there for getting rid of it so if it is pissing you off, maybe just get it. That is just ho it smells,I woudnt worry about that... Unless you think some kind of metal in the tank or near the tank is rusting. You should do a ton of water changes. That is really the sure way to get the nitrates down so the algae have nothing to feed on. Green emerald crabs work the best on green hair algae but get rid of them before you buy corals. As you can see there are a bunch of ways to reduce it and combat it. I am glad you have been benefiting from my videos :)
aim using this product for a red and green slime my water guilty is good. i brush and mix up the sand bed to help clean then tank. i think that doing that makes it worse. dose lighting play big part the only thing i think off
i - Hey howz ya doing? I can't wait to try this product but this isn't the product from what I can deduce from the videos I've seen for your issues. *Red slim* isn't an algae but a Cyanobacteria. It's pretty common and it can get nasty. I'd reco Chemiclean(about 18 bucks for two grams which will treat 300 gallons, just make sure you add plenty of Oxygen to your tank when treating) which is specifically designed for Red cyanobacteria brother. Good luck.
CoralFish12g just ordered some, gonna give it a go.. i dose nopox daily, very small amount and have chaeto in my fuge.. just tested trates today.. barely noticable.. on my 68g.. just would like new looking sand again :P .. im gonna dose this product once a week.. maint. dose status, see how it goes.. thanks and keep up the great vids.
A expeet like you should not have algae!!. Only joking. The important thing to remember is you need 0.02ppm phosphates or below to get rid of algae, If you use a poduct like this, or not. So before using this product, you need to get the flow right, skimming right, G.F.O, right. feeding and stocking levels right, aquascape right ect... The product does state that you need po4 levels below 0.02, which in many cases will remove the algae, with out the product. It is a good product but, not quite the miracal it looks like!!!.
I am using nualgi some one I no ask them for a sponsor they had no reply but if your doing video s about there product they are always asking do a new video have about 5 tanks will give a shot
Peeps... stop adding all these additives hoping it will cure your problem. Get to basics. These companies are making a fortune on these overpriced chemicals.

You don't know it now, but i just came back from the future, and u are going to grow a mustache, that most people are going to hate
what the heck as that got to do with the product he is talking about ?? think you should go back to the future
You’re the man. I always look to your channel as a resource for my aquarium maintenance questions, I will definitely be trying this product.

Can you advise if this would be ok to run with chemi pure blue?
Can you share your checklist you talked about in the beginning of the video. Just curious. Cool video!
Will this freak out my skimmer? Did you leave yours on? Thanks
I don't think so. I run my skimmer and its fine. I would check online they have detailed instructions right on their website. Link in description.
Is this safe for freshwater as well? @CoralFish12g
how about green turf algae ? any positive experiences ?

is Bacter clean M OK for soft corals ?
Timothy Katzen Yes. And you can buy it from me if you would like on www.coralfish12g.com
Can this be used in a freshwater tank?
Has there been any issue for inverts when using this?
Great information!
Thanks a lot for the video
Vacuum? Where can you get that.
Its always better to figure out whats causing the algae and prevent it with low po4 and no3 levels through adequate filtration. Otherwise you get dependent on products like this that you shouldnt need.
great video I've subbed up
how do i get rid of coralline algae? i have purple coralline thats gone out of control in my tank and has started covering corals. seriously ive been reefing for 15+ years its definately coralline. i cant find anyone that has a remedy
Does it work on bubble algae
Do I need to remove carbon when using this product?
no, not needed
I do 20% water change every week, if I use this product should I skip a week?
I would not skip a week, especially if your having success at having no algae. If you have algae then do not skip a week, just add this in addition to that.
I have some weird white things growing on my rocks, they are stony and they crack when I scrape them off my glass. Anyone know what they are, they look terrible!
Has your CUC been affected by this? if there are no algae then what is there for the CUC to eat?
Haha believe me they find stuff. They are more active looking for food so my tank looks cooler too. Nothing has died though.
that's good aslong as they don't starve from lack of algae that's fine, I got snails, an emerald crab, red tux urchin and plan to get feather-duster soon once I get some coral food
You've got some great videos with the info everyone needs... good job! From 2:45-2:55 in this video, is the coral a pagoda cup?
Thanks! Yes it is a Pagoda

Can it be used with freshwater also?
I don't think so. Check their website or email them.
Would anyone know if this is the same as microbacter 7? Also would this product help with dinoflagellates
They have a product called bacter gen m for that!
What kind of vac did you use to remove algae?
I think he just manually syphoned an airline tube
Will it kill micro algae?
Is it normal for this product to have a nasty odor? I bought some and it really stinks.
Adam Savitzky Yeah, after you cap it though the smell should go away!

What kind of vacuum is that
why dont you tell about how to keep and breed mareen shrimps i hop you do
Dose it work for turf algae
can this be used if im dosing nopox? just want white sand again.
Yes, do a half dose or so. Not the maximum dose they say you can use. It still give you white sand again if you use it long enough.
How to get rid of algae on rocks?
Will this overreact a skimmer?
Will this cause alkalinity to drop?
emilpett I don't think so. You can always replenish alk so even so it shouldn't be a concern.
There is another way without having to do the changes after 2 weeks! Use Brightwell aquatics BioFuel, MicroBacter7, and Seachem Matrix!!
How to get it off of rocks
where can u buy that product
