Guys!!! Also!! Side note lol I meant 1965 when referring to Jackie Kennedy not 1995 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ I’m an idiot sorry! Wouldn’t be a Kathleen video without messing something up lol
my grandmother used to use that hairspray, did so for so many years, and she'd been born in 1912. i could literally smell it through the screen when you lifted it up LOL. i miss her so much. crazy how certain products can be linked so closely to personal, bittersweet memories.
That’s how I feel about the Coty AirSpun powder. It reminds me of my great aunt who was like a grandmother to me. I keep one just to smell and remember her by.
My grandma’s signature lipstick was Revlon Cherries in the Snow 💋 I’m so glad I can still purchase it as a reminder of her. Thanks for sharing this nostalgia with us!!
Hahaha I died laughing when you put the cheek tint on your nipples 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this was so interesting to watch it’s crazy how many cult beauty products are still used today! They really need to change the formula on the Coty airspun powder though because it contains talc!!
when you said “it lasts for 3 days” and threw up a 2 reminded me of shrek when he’s like “pick number 3 my lord” and throws up a 2 😂 it gave the same energy ! also i’m wishing you so much love and light as we are finally in an air sun season ♊️🤍
IM literally breastfeeding as you applied the benefit tint and I could not stop laughing at your description of it! My baby looked up at me and started laughing as if she knew what was so funny 😆
Another Revlon lipstick that I loveee to wear is Pink In The Afternoon, which was the exact lipstick color Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s!!
Would love more videos like this one!🥰 I love and find the history of makeup so interesting. I so look forward to hearing more about this palette launching in a couple of months!! We’ve been waiting for so long! ✨🤩
I can’t believe these products have been around for so long!! My mom even uses some of these products and I have too!!! Like ohh boy that Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara, reminds me of my high school days and the packaging-such a 90’s vibe!!!!😻
I just LOVED this video! History and makep makes me happy, and I've learned a lot from your video. Please make it a series of some sort 💜 this was so interesting!
This video is awesome not only it was at fun to watch but love the history on the makeup that should definitely be a thing that you do maybe once a month is it research some products and tell us the history about them they don't necessarily have to be old products or old brands but it would be cool to start off with the oldest
Fun fact : 19 year old Thomas Lyle William Dr. saw his sister using Vaseline with coal. And decided to explore and create mascara and became the youngest cosmetician, business executive and he name the company Maybelline after his sister Maybel.
The Benetint is literally my all time favourite product,I don’t really wear makeup at the moment but when I do decide to add a little bit of colour to my face this is my go to,since it pretty much resembles my own lip colour.
I still have Black Honey and I used it when I was a kid. It’s a flattering color for so many people so it’s awesome that they never discontinued it. This was a fun video.
At one point a few years ago, Clinique has a GWP that included a retractable eyeliner in the color black honey. I’ve never seen it since and I LOVED IT. It was such a nice color. ❤️
Whenever I see your videos on my feed I feel nostalgic. I truly miss your makeup tutorials. Your makeup tutorials are one of my favorites to watch because you are so creative with your makeup. I know you’ve been busy with your other two businesses and it’s hard to juggle UA-cam, I just wish I saw you on here more often.
@kathleenlights I lost both my parents within a span of 11 weeks this year. I’ve completely stopped wearing makeup since then and have lost interest in it as well. Today is the first time I opened UA-cam and decide to watch your video to feel normal again. Thankyou Kathleen.
This was fun! I think Jackie Kennedy wore that foundation in the 60s. I tried the AirSpun powder and never liked it. I used to use Benetint, and loved it! Now they sell 3 other colors and the original. You have inspired me to try it again! I thought you might showcase a lipstick from that vintage brand you had years ago. Keep up with the fun content! No pressure, just do what you would want to watch. 😀🌸🥰
My grandmother had very few makeup products, but maybelline great lash and revlon lipstick (I think in rum raisin) and revlon bluch were the three products she kept on hand at all times. She's been gone 17 years now, and great lash reminds me of her all the time.
Oh my goodness!!! This video made me laugh so freaking hard!!! I remember my mom giving me a tube of Clinique’s Black Honey when I was 16 and I felt so bougie! I’m 59 now and I just love all of the nostalgia surrounding these products❣️❣️❣️Also, as a True Blood fan back in the day, I had totally forgotten about “V”! When you compared it to the Benefit tint I was literally laughing out loud!!! Thanks so much, Kathleen, for brightening my day❣️I was close to having an anxiety attack when I saw this video and I’m completely fine now!!! You are the best‼️
Terry de Gunzburg created Touche Eclat to mimic a mix of products she used to touch up models faces on editorial photo shoots. This was years before things like Photoshop was available. Air Spun is still fragranced with Coty's 1905 L'Origan.
I've been using the Maybelline Great Lash mascara since the mid-80s. I've tried other mascaras, but the pink and green tube is the best. It's the only one that doesn't clump on me.
This was a great video. The black honey lipstick has been the only lip product to stay in my almost non existent make up bag for years. Also, the tint product application made me laugh so hard!
I love Native!! I went aluminum free after being sick and they're the only deodorants I can wear that don't have me smelling like a dumpster in a couple of days!! I don't know what they do but they're doing it right!!😄 Great video!!💕
I’m the opposite lol i tried native deodorant and other ones and kept getting rashes. I also was getting hives. I honestly wish natural deodorant would have worked for me. Also one of the deodorants i tried burned my skin really bad! i had to wash it off right away
@@juicyfruitswirl if you haven’t tried Schmidt’s try it! I got a horrendous rash from native and literally every other aluminum free deodorant but Schmidt’s.
Native didn't work for me 😫 it made me so sad. It worked for the first day and then the smell was horrible. I tried a whole bunch of different scents and it was a no go for me
Great Lash mascara is just a great any day, easy to put on, mascara. It’s always gone on super smooth for me. I have very light eyelashes so it’s thinner formula works great for me because I can get all the way to the root with no problem
I love the black honey lipstick as well! But I like to go for a more natural juicy look, so I only line my lips and do one swipe on both my top and bottom lips. So pretty
Kathleen I really looooved this video, so much fun and sooo interesting!!! For us make up lovers this is truly such a brilliant video format! Keep it up if you can! ❤️
My mom wore the Clinique black honey lipstick in the pot in the 80s. That little mint green container was in our bathroom constantly. I can see it on my mind’s eye 👁
Damn i haven't watched kathleen's videos in SO LONG (had a baby, forgot about all things makeup and beauty), I FORGOT how funny she is lol! LOVE YOU KATHLEEN
I loved the true blood reference!!! It’s for sure in my top 10 shows of all time!!! Also have good memories around watching it too!! Love you Kathleen 🥰
Loved this video.....so interesting. You mentioned 1971....Damn, the year I graduated from high school....Man, I can't believe how much time has passed. Wish I could go back to my favorite decade, the 70's.
I loved this video so much!! Ive been busy with nursing school and havent been watching much makeup content. But this fired up me up to get back into the groove😭 Ive also been watching you since i was first getting into makeup my 1st year of college like 2016. Been following and supporting since. Youre the best and hope youre happy n healthy!!!☺️💕
I'm crying laughing at the benetint part 🤣 I appreciate you taking one for the team because I've always been curious about how it would look if you use it for the original reason it was made 😂 also loved this video idea I appreciate how you talked about each product, when it was made, original packaging, etc.
Love the benefit tint for my lips I love it! After watching Karol G using it with lip mask I had to try it and now I rarely even grab anything else. Also the face powder comes with out that scent and is the one I use. Cool video!
A video 2 days in a row of Kathleen's. This is fantastic! ❤️🥰😁 Edit: I'm painting my nails right now with the friends collection and another Lights Lacquer nail polish. Love your polishes and videos so much.
I love the history of makeup. Their use to be a channel dedicated to it and the facts about the iconic people and places is fascinating. Great vid, Kathleen!

Dying at the nipple commentary! This is why we love you, Kathleen. 🥰
My grandma’s signature lipstick was Revlon Cherries in the Snow 💋 I’m so glad I can still purchase it as a reminder of her. Thanks for sharing this nostalgia with us!!
My mom has worn Cherries in the Snow as far back as I can remember and she’s 90!
My Grandma, Viola, wore it all of the time as well. Iconic!
It also is what Gwen Stefani wore as well when she had her classic 50s look. 💛
