Here is a 3rd and important observation for you. I rarely join other peoples games now. As a beginner, I want to play beginners, like myself, at this stage. Also, there appears to be some people that randomly click on a game, wait for a good luck from host, and exit. It is happening EVERY time I start games. I now say good luck, let's go, good luck and start game and if anyone leaves I say not ready and wait again for my board to fill. And repeat. I have even started adding 5 seconds. And STILL some fkr bots °●□♤□●《♤£€\¤●\♤! Words fail me. Noone should be allowed to quit on not confirm a started game for first 5 minutes. Once z host starts game YOUR IN - No other games allowed to be joined or started, you must join your game again. If you come back in 30 minutes you must wait 5 minutes before being allowed to join any game.
You can limit your opponents to a certain rank threshold using filters.
You were laser sharp there in focusing on your goal. I had thar kind if game, could not keep a bonus, had my original cap in East Egypt ( that area of map) and 2 in Ireland, but simple could not keep. I had was weakest on the board. One difference, everyone could see the map. Once I got Sierra Cap I lost one on Ireland, could not defend 4, I had been doen to last 3, red orange in middle and pink taking all South now, round and round. Sat on Sierra cap for a long time. Then ported into France and stole that. This mad open game went on for a long time, with no holding pink off in East and Orange letting me keep Russia, UK, Ireland, Scandi, but only with 1 all over. As we got close to defeating pink suddenly for no reason Orange back doored me. Well, I smashed from from Sierra cap all the way to Spain. Took him off every bonus in one go. This all with fixed cards. Pink got the message and swept past me, ignoring my now 1 troop Russia and using all his troops to take a cap from orange. We had to fight hard as orange was really winner of this game, with stacks and cards, regaining bonuses, Kicking me out of UK and those 2 NI caps and so on. But the impetious had changed the other way with portals I gradually worked my way to owning 4 of them and Russia and Asia, it was pinks and had a cap, but as I only raised pink was starting to lose again. Gradually I became strongest on the board. I watched pinks next turn with bated breath when portals openned after next 3 goes. Will gefk me up basically. But no, he did not and was happy just not to come 3rd and settle for 2nd. Orange gave up after that and got 3rd. Never turn on a partner in fixed cards and portals on an open board, everyone has perfect info o the such. 😂😅😊❤
Dear Pete. When watching your videos(I watch them all) it's getting difficult to see which ones I've seen due to the red frame around the thumbnail on my tv. If possible, could you use another color, or just leave the lower part blank? The reason being when watched or partly watched a video the timeline on lower part of thumbnail turns red. Hope this makes sense, love the content
I'm curious. Where do you have your nack for strategic/critical thinking from? Have you studied philosophy....or something else? Personally I'm a big proponent of critical thinking. Not sure if it was TKPS or Free Pete you said it. But I appreciated your take on the question about controlling thought and the distinction between mind and thought. Philosophy of mind ❤
He's got a degree in philosophy, and both his sisters (if I remember correctly from the last qna) work in academia. Hella smart family.

My education is in philosophy but I've been an entrepreneur for my career. Both my folks instilled a virtue of skepticism in me from a young age so that has to be a big part of it.
My one sister is a tissue engineering PhD and prof (biomedical research) and her twin is a Chef by profession.

hey pete, just curious on the reasoning of having 2 channels for risk? different style of gameplay, editing, etc, on them or something else?
I understood his second channel as "Do whatever I want" channel (including non risk content), while on this channel the focus is on getting the entertainment level high. I think I also heard Pete saying that on the other channel the video's aren't edited, while on this channel he would sometimes skip boring parts (as you see in this video).
KPS is for the audience and we are interested in fine tuning the types of risk content you guys are looking for. FreePete is for me so I can play and grow and learn and experiment and produce whatever I feel like producing which is essential for enabling me to be this productive without burning out.

The amount of bot outs when you play with low skilled players is just absurd
I’m decent but when somebody does something they could’ve avoided the second I get my stuff back and rebuild I’m slamming them and giving the win to whoever scoops us up

I find the progressive dice is not as entertaining and good a game as fixed dice. I also find that zombies on the Advanced European board often freaks people out, especially if you add the portals haha 😅
You should make a channel point redeem for like 10k points where you have to play the noob corner in your next game

It was hard to watch this one when you blocked half of the map. Every time you spoke about killing the bot we couldn’t see the lower left of the map and see what you could.

Always interesting how players never coordinate against Pete when he is in the obvious driver seat. I so much as sniff a slight advantage and every other opponent, even the ones I’m not near and haven’t pissed off, tunnel me and only me until I’m dead. Not until I lose that advantage, until I’m dead. Let’s face it. I’ve seen enough videos to suspect a bit of foul playing going on. Really wouldn’t be all that surprised if there was some paid acting behind the scenes. Good try though.
I think if you think for a bit longer than 2 seconds you might be able to come up with a better explanation than this..such as for example oh that maybe Pete is posting the games where he wins and not the ones where what you described happens to him too. Also, we are all prone to confirmation bias.

@@KITT-ms5epIf you mean his ranked FFA win/loss ratio it's heavily inflated by 1v1 games during the old ranking system.
Keep in mind that there is a strong survivorship bias. The only videos that make it onto youtube are generally videos where he does well. If he gets killed on turn 5 he just won't upload it.
Also, when you look at his tournament games you see a much more realistic image of what his games are like, because he always uploads all the games.
Pete has posted thousands of videos by now across his channels; including PLENTY of games where he loses. As he says in the intro, 'if you are interested in getting better at Risk then come along the ride with me'. I think he is genuine in that regard and learns as much from his losses as his wins and hopes his viewers learn something to. @@unluckygamer692
Honestly, fog of war is annoying, especially from a viewers perspective.
disagreed! I enjoy thinking about where other players might be, and I like that it adds stealth to the game, like with how Pete took the purple cap when he thought blue or black could take it from him. in a non-fog game, he would've never done that if he thought another player could easily snag it back, but if he's stealthy enough in fog then it might work! fog also adds surprises that are fun, like players being weaker/stronger than we expected, or players jumping out of nowhere and killing another. fog is fun!
I really try my best with these settings to show/explain how I'm able to see through the fog. It may not be landing for you.
