One of NFL Films's all-time greatest shows. Rich, Chris & Belichick with the in-studio guests is so perfect. Respect and honor. It just makes you feel good watching it.
The show was incredible...the way the players talked about each other was awesome. We all grew up watching at least some of these guys and when they told stories it was like we were right there with them laughing re-living great moments as if we were apart of it.
I would have loved to be the room to see all of the stuff that went on that didn't air. I'll bet it was shear genius. I truly gained a whole level of respect for Belichick that I have never had before, and I say that as a Colts fan. A truly remarkable series involving truly remarkable men; Eisen, Collinsworth and Belichick. Thanks to everyone involved.
Belichick is one of the greatest of all time, but Lombardi is different. He just is. Maris hit more home runs in one season than Babe Ruth, but Ruth is the legend. Lots of great playwrights down through the centuries, but Shakespeare in the Man. Lombardi was fundamental in the building of the NFL as a modern cultural phenomenon. Belichick, a benefactor of Lombardi's legacy, could win another five SB trophies and still would not be an equal of Lombardi. Belichick will wind up being winningest coach of all time, but Lombardi is sui generis. He will always be the greatest coach of all time.
Totally agree. Remember Vince Lombardi was taken away from us at age 57 from cancer. He had built his second team, the Washington Redskins into a super bowl contender and then became too sick to continue coaching them. This was the same team that George Allen took to the super bowl in 1972. Had Lombardi lived whose to say that he wouldn't have won at least 2 or 3 more super bowls. Remember Belichek is 67 now and Lombardi was 57 when he passed away. Give Lombardi those 10 more years and the conversation would be even more in his favor. Bottom line totally agree with your point. And the example l have given is one nobody ever brings up.

Bledsoe got hurt which opened the door for Brady and then Belichek started to win. Lombardi's first year in Green Bay he took a team that barely won a game the year before and went 7- 5. The next year he was in the conference title game. Lombardi never had a losing seson and unlike Belichek he never had to cheat to win. People can have all the takes they want and refer to takes as garbage but that won't charge the facts and therefore the record.
