Roger Brown of the Detroit Lions, in the 1960's, should be on that list. Bart Starr said Alex Karras was great, but when they played the Lions (remember it was the LIONS who were the Packers equal then) they worried about Roger more than any other player. He was the first 300 lbs. DT and ran like the wind. When he was traded to the LA RAMS he brought the name Fearsome Foursome to the Rams and his first year with the Rams they had, arguably the most dominant defensive line in History (he replaced Rosie Grier). The first Fearsome Foursome was the D-Line Roger played with with the Lions. Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen told me personally that Roger was the difference and made them become immortal. Read about the Thanksgiving Day Massacre vs. the Packers ('62-or 63). Roger had two safeties and 8+ sacks (before the stat was written about) and something like 8+ more tackles behind the line of scrimmage. and a couple batted passes.
